PRETREATmaker III Troubleshooting
Nr Problem Possible Reason Solution
1.
Streaking on the surface.
Irregular stream shape from
the nozzles.
1. The nozzles are clogged. 1. lean the nozzles. See Manual hapter 4.3.
2. Replace the clogged nozzle.
2. Filter is clogged. lean or replace the filter. See Manual hapter 4.6.

The pump generates no
pressure or the pressure is
too weak.
1. Filter is clogged. lean or replace the filter. See Manual hapter 4.6.
2. Electronic valve or nozzle is
clogged (see Manual hapter 4.8).

1. heck the nozzles for pollution.
2. Flush the pump with water: hange the precoating tube
with the water tube.
3. hange the connection of the precoating pump with the
water pump and check the functionality. See Manual
hapter 1.8 or change electronics board Pos. 29 and 30.
3. The pump is dirty. lean the pump (Request Manual 1.7 from the Service).
4. The pump is faulty. Replace the pump (Request Manual 1.9 from the Service).

arriage moves slower than
normal.
Err 2 or Err 3 shows up on
the display.
1. Rails are sticky from the pre-
coating, dirty or worn out. lean the rails. See Manual hapter 4.2.
2. Slider elements N27 are dirty,
defective or worn out.
1. Lubricate the slider elements with a silicone spray.
2. Disassemble the slider elements and clean them or put
new elements in (Request Manual1.6 from the Service).
3. The toothed wheels or the gears
are soiled by the liquid. lean the toothed wheels and the gears with a brush and
water.
4. The toothed wheel has shifted on
the gears and the carriage is not
running parallel to the running rails.
Set the arriage parallel to the running rails.
5. The tension of the toothed wheels
is too high. Adjust the tension of the toothed wheels. These may only
be slightly tense.
6. The electric motor is very weak
and does not run smoothly. Replace the electric motor. Please contact the Service.

arriage moves backwards
at normal speed. Err 2
shows up on the display.
The distance between the magnet
and the sensor on the carriage is
too big.Or the magnet is missing.
The magnet is located in the right
rear section.
Adjust the distance from the magnet. The distance must be
about 5-8 mm or 0.2 inches.

arriage moves forward at
normal speed. Err 3 shows
up on the display.
The distance between the magnet
and the sensor on the carriage is
too big. Or the magnet is missing.

front section.
Adjust the distance from the magnet. The distance must be
about 5-8 mm or 0.2 inches.

The screen responds
incorrectly when pressing
the individual functions.
It activates a different
function than desired.
A tension problem in the fixture of
the display. The display is screwed
too tightly.
Slightly loosen all four mounting screws of the display.

The display does not
respond to commands. No
functions possible. No
“beep” sound when using
it.
1. A loose contact on the cable
between the display and the
electronics.
heck the cable connection between the electronics and
the display and replace the cable if necessary.
2. Display failure.
Restart display. Take out the display and press the black
knob in the upper central part. The machine must be
switched on.
3. The display is defective.
Replace the display (Request Manual 1.10 from the
Service).
4. The electronics are defective. Replace the electronics. See Manual hapter 4.5.
8. Err 1 shows up on the
display.
ommunication error between the
electronics and the touch screen.
Turn the machine off and on again. If the error persists,
check the cable connection between the electronics and
the display. Replace the display and cable.
9.
Electronic valve sprays too
long or closes too late or
opens too late. See Figure
in Manual hapter 4.8.

service/support.
10.
The electronic valve does
not spray any more. No
liquid passes through. See

1. heck on the electronic board if the LEDs (Pos.
22/23/24/25) are working. Yes = continue with 2. No =
Replace the electronic board.
2. Test the functions by switching the output signals on the
electronic board. Board output 22/23/24/25. See Manual
hapter 4.7.
3. If all outputs are working you must replace the electronic
valve. See Manual hapter 4.8. Product number 803422.
4. If all electronic valves are working but an electronic
output signal is not working you must replace the
electronic board.
