Preventing Shock: Always remove power from the machine before starting any service tasks.
Preventing ESD: Always use appropriate ESD mitigation procedures.
Replacing the Power Cord: If the Power Cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer (Scientific
Games Corporation), its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
Properly Secure and Vent All Equipment: Before starting any service tasks, the cabinet, top or accessory box,
and machine must be correctly secured and installed, with adequate ventilation, as described in the
corresponding product manual or guide to avoid injury and equipment damage.
Ladder Safety: Follow all company mandated ladder safety procedures. Do not exceed the maximum load
rating of a ladder. Be aware of the ladder load rating and of the weight it is supporting, including the weight of
any tools or equipment.

Using this CPU requires the following additional items:

To avoid delays, purchase your machine locks well before your planned
installations. Purchase several spare locks from your lock manufacturer and keep
them available. See your product manuals for additional lock and cam

Recommended Operating Environment
The following table describes the recommended machine and CPU operating environment:

For CPUs shipped to cooler climates, avoid excessive condensation and possible thermal shock
by ensuring that the CPU has acclimated to the room temperature before switching power on.

Opening the Logic Door
Use the following instructions to open the logic door.
1Ensure the EGM power is off.
2Unlock and open the logic door by inserting the key and turning it counter clockwise.

Changing the Logic Door Lock
Changing the Logic Door Lock
Use the following instructions to change the lock.
Required Tools
Ratchet
Sockets: 7/16-inch, 7/8-inch deep well
Wrench, 7/8-inch
1With the logic door open, remove the nut securing the cam to the lock mechanism using a 7/16-inch socket and
ratchet.
2Remove the cam and set it aside for future use.
3Remove the hex nut securing the keyed lock to the lock plate using a ratchet and a deep well 7/8-inch socket or
a 7/8-inch wrench.
4Remove the shipping lock and spacer from the front of the lock plate.

Changing the Logic Door Lock
5Ensure the new lock and number of spacers is appropriate.
NOTE
For additional information, see Lock Specifications on page 8.
6Insert the new lock and spacers into the lock plate hole and secure it with the hex nut using a deep well
7/8-inch socket and ratchet or a 7/8-inch wrench.
7Secure the cam to the lock with the previously removed nut using a 7/16-inch socket and ratchet.
8Ensure the keyed lock installed turns clockwise to lock the logic door and counter-clockwise to unlock the logic
door.

Installing A Secondary Lock (If Applicable)
Use the following instructions to install a secondary lock, if applicable.
Required Tools
Ratchet
Sockets: 7/16-inch, 7/8-inch deep well
Wrench, 7/8-inch
7 mm nut driver
1With the logic door open, remove the nut securing the cam to the lock mechanism using a 7/16-inch socket and
ratchet.
2Remove the cam and set it aside for future use.
3Remove the hex nut securing the keyed lock to the lock plate using a ratchet and a deep well 7/8-inch socket or
a 7/8-inch wrench.

5Remove the lock plate from the CPU assembly by removing two nuts using a 7mm nut driver. Save the nuts for
future use.

6Rotate the cover plate placing the two lock holes towards the back of the CPU.
7Secure the lock plate to the CPU assembly with the two previously removed nuts using a 7mm nut driver.

8Ensure the secondary lock and number of spacers is appropriate.
NOTE
For additional information, see Lock Specifications on page 8.
9Install the previously removed lock and spacers into one of the lock plate holes and secure it with the hex nut
using a deep well 7/8-inch socket and ratchet or a 7/8-inch wrench.
10 Insert the secondary lock and spacers into the remaining lock plate hole and secure it with the hex nut using a
deep well 7/8-inch socket and ratchet or a 7/8-inch wrench.
11 Secure the cams to the locks with the previously removed nuts using a 7/16-inch socket and ratchet.

Removing Battery Protector Tabs (If Applicable)
Use the following instructions to remove the battery protector tabs and complete their connection with the CPU main
board, if applicable.
NOTE
If the backup batteries are not working, the EGM may lose settings when the power
is turned off. After enabled or replaced, the time and date must be set or reset.
1Remove the battery protector tab on the coin cell battery, if applicable.

Installing the Media
Use the following instructions to install the media.
CAUTION
To prevent damage, avoid excessive force when installing media.
CAUTION
Do not use a RAM Clear or Operating System USB drive in this instruction.
NOTE
For details on the BIOS/JUR SPI Module diagnostic LEDs, see BIOS Module LEDs on
page 26.
1Locate the BIO/JUR SPI module receptacle (yellow).
2Insert the BIOS/JUR SPI module into the receptacle (yellow) on the CPU main board.
