PRELIMINARY
BEFOREBEGINNING:
READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
**CAUTION**:
Disconnect

in
your
vehicle.
We
recommend
the
use
of
a
volt-ohm
meter
or
computer-safe
LED
probe
when
checking
wiring. A
test
light
or

probe
if
used
improperly
can
cause damage
to

WIRING
INSTRUCTIONS
TIPS:
For
easier installation,
connections
can
be
made
at
the
rear
speakers
in
many
vehicles
without
the
need
to
remove
the
stereo! The
LOC90
adapter
module
will
output
a +12V
remote
output
on
the
Blue/White
wire
when
signal
is
detected
from
the
car
stereo•s speakerwires. Wire
colors
on
the
LOC90
may
differ
from
the
wiring
codes
found
on
your
car
stereo/vehicle.
1. Connect the black wire
to
chassis ground (vehicle
metal).
2. Connect the yellow wire to a +12V constant
(continuous) power source.
TIP:
If amplifier is
installed nearby, tap the yellow wire from the
LOC90
into the amplifier•s +12V battery terminal
or
wire.
3. Connect the left speaker•s
+1-
input wires
to
the
white and white black input wires
of
the
LOC90.
This can be performed at the vehicle•
s
speaker
location
or
behind the stereo itself.
4. Connect the right speaker•s
+1-
input wires
to
the
gray and gray/black input wires
of
the
LOC90.
This
can be performed at the vehicle•s speaker location
or
behind the stereo itself.
5.
Connect the blue/white wire
to
the amplifier's
"remote turn-on"
or
"REM" input. Always refer
to
your amplifier's owner's manual forwiring details/
functions
of
your particular amplifier
(remote output: 500mA).
6. Connect the RCA audio outputs
of
the
LOCIO
to
the amplifier's inputs
{RED
=right channel, WHITE
=
left channel)
NOTE:
Some
mono
(monaural)
sub
amplifiers
may
have
only
a single RCA input. You can
choose
either
the
left
or
right
signal
from
the
LOC90,
but
it
is
advisable
to
use a
y-adapter
to
combine
together
for
maximum
signal level.3

details/functions for your particular car stereo. The
wire color codes used on the LOC90 conform
to
the
standards set
by
the

sociation).
White = Left front positive input (LF+)
White/black=
Left front negative input (LF-)
Gray = Right front positive input
(RF+)
Gray/black = Right front negative input (RF-)

REMOTE
SUBNOLUME
CONTROL
The LOC90 includes on optional remote-mount volume
control to attenuate/control the newAMP/SUB system
level. Choose a location accessible
to
the driver, pas-
senger or both. See Figure 1 on page 6 for
suggested locations.
TIP: Check for obstructions
at
the chosen location
before mounting/routing the volume control.
Recommended: Use the included adhesive strip for
non-permanent mounting. Optional: For permanent
mounting, use
(2)
small %
••
screws (not included).

SUBNOLUME
CONTROL

ADHESIVE STRIP
1.
Choose the desired location for the remote volume
control (Figure 1
).
2. Route the control cable from the selected location
to
the
LOC90
main unit.
3. Plug the male 3.5mm control wire into the female
3.5mm input
of
the
LOC90
module.
4.
Peel
the backing strip from one side
of
the adhesive
and attach to the remote volume control case. When
ready
to
mount, peel away the remaining strip and
press the unit
to
the mounting surface.
Optional:
For additional support use 2 small screws
(screws not included). 6

ADJUSTING
THE
OUTPUT
LEVEL
NOTES:
The
LOC90
can output up
to
4 volts, a slight adjustment
can change the volume dramatically. The adjustment pots
rotate one complete turn,
do
not over-turn
or
use
too
much pressure.
Adjust gains with caution.
Too much volume or distortion
can damage your hearing
and the audio equipment.
1. Carefully break away the
screwdriver tool from the side
of
the
LOC90
case (Figure
2).
2. If using the remote volume control,
ensure that it is connected
to
the main
unit with its knob turned all the UP
(Figure
3).
3. Use the included tool at the
LOC90
module and turn both gain controls
aU
the way down (counterclockwise
until they stop -Figure
4).
4. Turn stereo on and adjust volume
up
to
%(or
just above loudest listening level)
5.
Carefully turn upthe left and right gain
controls (turn clockwise) on the
LOC90
until the sound is as loud
as will ever need
to
be or near
distortion (when sound becomes
garbled, unclear, or breaks up).
6.
Turn back each gain
level very slightly from
step #5 and then
immediately turn
down stereo volume.
7.
Ifyou hear a "hum"
or
excessive "hiss" sound
between songs then the gain
levels may still be adjusted
too
high.
