Installation Guide
Connecting the Whiteboard
There are two ways to connect the Whiteboard: using a ScreenBeam Receiver, or
directly to the laptop. The advantage of connecting via a ScreenBeam Receiver is
that the user will be able to move around with the laptop, since it is connected wire-
lessly, instead of having it physically coupled to the Whiteboard using a USB cable.
Connecting with a ScreenBeam Receiver
Note: This Guide assumes that the Whiteboard is mounted on a wall, or other-
wise permanently located in its operating position. For wall-mounting instruc-
tions, see “Mounting the Whiteboard” on page 1 of this Guide.
There are two parts to connecting the Whiteboard with the Receiver:
a) connecting the Receiver to the Whiteboard; and b) connecting the laptop and
Receiver wirelessly. Also, Actiontec recommends using a short-throw projector with
the Whiteboard, as less shadowing will occur with this type of projector.
Connecting the ScreenBeam Receiver to the Whiteboard
To connect the Receiver to the Whiteboard:
1. Insert one end of the provided USB cable into the USB port of
the Receiver.
2. Insert the other end into the USB port of the Whiteboard.
3. Insert one end of the provided HDMI cable into the Receiver’s
HDMI port.
4. Insert the other end into the projector’s HDMI port.
5. Insert one end of the Receiver’s power cord into the Receiver’s
power port.
6. Insert the other end into an electrical wall outlet.
7. Make sure the projector is set to use its HDMI input.
Note: The Receiver can also be connected via VGA cable (not provid-
ed), instead of an HDMI cable. If connecting with a VGA cable, skip
steps 3 and 4 from the previous procedure, and connect the VGA
cable between the Receiver’s VGA port and the VGA port of the pro-
jector. Then, make sure the projector is set to use its VGA input.

Receiver must be connected. The procedures to do this differ, depending
on the operating system running on the laptop (either Windows 10, or
Windows 7/8/8.1).
Note: The default pin is 12345670.
Windows 10 If the laptop is running Windows 10, go to
http://www.actiontec.com/setupsb and follow the onscreen instructions.
Windows 7/8/8.1 If the laptop is running Windows 7/8/8.1, go to
http://www.actiontec.com/setupsb and follow the onscreen instructions.
Note: If the laptop is running Windows 8.1, connect via the Intel Wi-Di
application. To download the latest Wi-Di version, go to:
http://www.intel.com/go/wirelessdisplayupdate
