Scully Connect®Testing Cable
(P/N 092000240)
User Guide
This cable accessory is designed to be eld repairable. If any part of the
cable breaks, it can be repaired using the instructions provided.
If a wire breaks on the banana plug end of the cable:
1. Unscrew the fastening termination screw inside
the banana plug and remove any broken pieces
of wire that may be stuck inside.
2. Strip away a ¼” length of insulation from the wire
where it is broken.
3. The exposed wire can be tinned with a soldering
iron or twisted and left as is.
4. Insert the wire into the banana plug and fasten
it using the termination screw.
If a wire breaks on the Scully Connect®end of the cable:
1. Insert and push a thin, blunt tool into the connector.
2. Remove any broken pieces of wire that may be
stuck in the connector.
3. Strip away a ¼” length of insulation from the
wire where it is broken.
4. The exposed wire needs to be twisted and
tinned with a soldering iron.
5. Insert the wire into the connector and ensure
that it is properly inserted by gently tugging
on the repaired wire.

Connect the banana plugs of the cable to the Scully Universal Truck
Tester (UTT) unit following the 5-Wire OPTIC color code.
Turn on the unit, and set the sensor type to “OPTIC” for 5-Wire sensors
or “THERMISTOR” for 2-Wire sensors.
Connect a single Scully Connect 2-Wire or 5-Wire sensor to the other
end of the cable using the appropriate connector.
5-WIRE CONNECT®
If a 5-Wire sensor is working as expected, the UTT will display a ashing
red light for compartment 1 and show a “GOOD” status with a green
light in the optic test display.
