FITTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR
STABIL-MATE
HYDRAULIC STABILISING SYSTEM
•A handyman or a caravan repairer can fit this stabilising system.
•Please note: No copper tube or oil are supplied with this stabilising system.
•When fitting this unit please ensure all brass fittings are tight by using either
thread-tape or a hydraulic thread locker. DO NOT use on Olive Connections.
•It is important that all four legs face the rear of caravan and run parallel with
chassis as illustrated in Diagram A.

•Bolt the pump unit to the A-Frame of
the caravan. DO NOT WELD as it may
need to be removed at some time in
the future for servicing.

•Connect 6mm (1/4 inch) copper tube to the pump unit, fasten along the
chassis rmly with saddles and then connect to the hydraulic ram on a leg,
and repeat for remaining three legs as illustrated in Diagram A.
•Please cut and position the stickers
(which are supplied) on the top of the
pump unit next to the valve which
corresponds with the leg as

•This product has been designed to use transmission uid only, of which
600ml should be sucient. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER TYPE OF OIL.
•This unit should not require bleeding. It will purge the air from the system each
time it is used.
•Once your Stabil-Mate has been installed, when the legs are down it should
look the same as shown in Diagram D.

General Information About Stabil-Mate
•The PUMP UNIT on this product has been
interior as well as the exterior to minimise rust from condensation.
•All skid -brackets and Legs have also been
•All ram cylinders have been machined and the Rams are made from High
Tensile steel.
•A neoprene wiper seal has been included on the ram, which will take some
time to “bed in”.
•Initially, the rear legs may be slow in retracting completely. If this is the case
simply raise the legs the remainder of the way by hand. After a few months of
regular use, the seals should get over there initial tightness. It is preferential
for the seals to be tight.
•Be sure to keep this manual in a safe place for future reference and ll out the
warranty card, which is included in this manual, and return to the
manufacturer.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR
STABIL-MATE
HYDRAULIC STABILISING SYSTEM
•Once you have positioned your caravan on site, engage the caravans parking
brake and chock wheels.
•Close release valve and open the four remaining valves, which go to the legs
and proceed to pump the handle until all legs touch the ground.
•Once the legs have touched the ground they will equalize by themselves,
continue pumping until the caravan has the desired stability. Close ALL
valves.
PLEASE NOTE:
All legs are spring assisted and should not be lowered more than a 70-
degree angle; otherwise this will decrease the memory in the springs.
TO RELEASE
•Open release valve approximately one full turn and then open the remaining
valves to allow the oil to return to the pump unit.
•Please ensure that the legs are fully retracted as the springs only assist in this
procedure.
•If the legs are “bedding” themselves into soft ground, you may choose to
position pieces of hardwood approximately 100mm square or something
similar under each leg, which should avoid this situation. However, if this
situation does arise simply drive your vehicle forward slowly .
