Safe Work Procedure
1. Observe Routine Practices, including hand hygiene, and use proper body mechanics
2. Don medical gloves
3. Remove P-100 cartridges by turning them counter-clockwise and gently pulling them away from the
mask
4. Set the P-100 cartridges aside
5. Wipe respirator mask and straps using Prevention Accel wipes
6. Wipe down the hard plastic case of the P-100 cartridges with Prevention Accel Wipes
7. Remove medical gloves using glove-to-glove, skin-to-skin technique
8. Perform hand hygiene with Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizer
9. Rinse respirator thoroughly under warm water
10. Wipe down hard plastic case of P-100 cartridges with warm water dampened single use cloth or
paper towel. Discard cloth or paper towel after use.
11. Set respirator and cartridges aside and allow to air dry in a safe place away from any patient care
areas
12. Perform hand hygiene with Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizer

Steps for Cleaning
Important Points
1. Observe Routine Practices, including hand hygiene,
and use proper body mechanics
Use alcohol based hand sanitizer
2. Don Medical Gloves
Gloves must be clean, durable, chemical
and tear resistant.
3. Remove P-100 cartridges by turning them counter-
clockwise and gently pulling them away from the
mask
4. Set the P-100 Low Profile cartridges aside
Cartridges should only be discarded if they
are grossly contaminated, damaged, or
causing noticeably increased breathing
resistance (e.g. causing discomfort to the
wearer)

5. Wipe respirator mask and straps using Prevention
Accel wipes
Ensure all surfaces remain visibly wet for
at least three minutes
Intervention Accel wipes require a one
minute contact time
6. Wipe down the hard plastic case of the P-100
cartridges with Accel Wipes
Squeeze Accel wipes to remove any
excess liquid prior to wiping cartridges.
This will help to ensure that NO fluids
come into contact with the filter medium,
as the disinfection solution may change or
render the filter material ineffective.
Ensure all surfaces remain visibly wet for
at least 3 minutes
7. Remove medical gloves
Grab the outside edge of your glove near
the wrist and peel away from your hand,
turning the glove inside out.
Hold the glove in the opposite gloved
hand. Slide your un-gloved finger or thumb
under the wrist of the remaining glove.
Peel the glove off and over the first glove.
Put the gloves in the garbage.

8. Hand Hygiene
Use alcohol based hand sanitizer
9. Rinse respirator thoroughly under warm water
Head straps are removed when rinsing the
mask under warm water
10. Wipe down hard plastic case of P-100 cartridges
with a warm water dampened cloth
Use a single use cloth or paper towel, and
discard after use.

11. Set respirator and cartridges aside and allow to air
dry
12. Hand Hygiene
Use alcohol based hand sanitizer
