•Do not open the unit or take it apart. It contains no user-
serviceable parts.
•Do not expose the unit to rain, high temperatures or other
harsh environments.
•Disconnect power and remove battery before cleaning. Wipe
the unit with a damp cloth. Do not use detergents or organic
solvents. These may damage materials.
•For internal battery power, use AA NiCad rechargeable batter-
ies only. Serious damage may result if non-NiCad rechargeable
batteries are used.
•If the unit will not be used, remove the batteries.

•Before using the Emergency Radio & Spotlight for the first time,
charge the NiCad batteries with the included car adapter for
five hours. Insert the appropriate end of the adapter into the
DC input jack on the front of the unit. Plug the other end into
your vehicle’s power socket.
•You can also charge the unit for five hours using an AC adapter
(not included) with centered positive output 5.5V DC 600 mA.
•Never leave depleted batteries in the lantern.
•Recharge immediately after batteries have become depleted as
well as every three months, even if the unit has not been used.
Installing Batteries
1. Slide the battery case lid open at the rear side of the unit.
2. Insert two 1.5V AA batteries (purchase separately) into the
battery compartment. Make sure the +/- polarities are cor-
rectly positioned, as indicated on the case.
3. Slide the inner battery case lid open.
4. Insert one 1.5V AA battery (purchase separately) in the inner
single compartment in order to operate the clock.
Important

5. Slide the battery case lids closed.
6. To replace rechargeable batteries, remove battery case lid
and unscrew battery compartment cover underneath.
Remove and replace with new batteries.

Solar Cell Collection Panel
Position the built-in, pivoting solar cell collection panels toward
the sun to recharge the two included NiCad AA batteries.

1. To turn on the spotlight, slide the SPOTLIGHT/BLINKER
switch to “ ” position.
2. To turn on the blinker, slide the SPOTLIGHT/BLINKER switch
to “(•)” position.
3. To activate the siren, slide the SPOTLIGHT/BLINKER switch
to “(•)” position, then turn on the radio VOLUME button.
Replacing the Spotlight
1. Turn the spotlight cover counterclockwise and lift.
2. Twist the inside bulb socket counterclockwise to unlock. Lift
out the socket and remove the old bulb.
3. Insert a new bulb into the socket and replace the socket.
Twist to secure.
4. Replace the spotlight cover and turn it clockwise until it is
secure.
Operating the Spotlight, Blinking Light and
Emergency Siren with Blinking Light

The frequency range is 525 - 1705 kHz for AM; 88V - 108 MHz
for FM.
1. To listen to the radio, set the BAND SELECTOR to AM or FM.
2. Turn the VOLUME control clockwise to turn on and to select
the desired level.
3. To select a station, rotate the TUNING control.
4. To turn off the radio, turn the VOLUME control counterclock-
wise until you hear a clicking sound.
Clock
Note: Insert one 1.5V AA battery in the inner single compart-
ment in order to operate the clock. The clock does not operate
using the two included NiCad AA batteries.
Setting the Time
Hold the SET button down and press the HR or MIN button to
set the hour and minute.
Setting the Alarm Time
Hold the AL.SET button down and press the HR or MIN button
to set the hour and minute.
Operating the Radio

Waking Up to the Alarm
1. Set the desired alarm time as described above.
2. Set the alarm mode to the ON position. Alarm activates
when the alarm time has been reached and stops after one
minute.
3. To stop the alarm, press the SNOOZE button or set the alarm
mode switch to the OFF position.
4. To snooze, set the ALARM MODE switch to the SNOOZE
position. Alarm activates when the alarm time has been
reached and stops after one minute.
5. To stop alarm, switch to the OFF position. To snooze, press
the SNOOZE button and the alarm activates again after four
minutes.

This warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship, with the exceptions stated below.
How Long Coverage Lasts
This warranty runs for 90 days from the date of original purchase.
What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or use other than as intended and described in the
product instruction manual, or loss or damage to batteries or removable parts.
What The Sharper Image Will Do
The Sharper Image will repair any defects in materials or workmanship. In the event repair is not possible,
The Sharper Image will either replace this product with one of similar features and price, or refund the full
purchase price of the product, whichever you prefer.
