Congratulations on your purchase of one of the most innovative Video/Audio
switching products on the market today. The Auto S-Video Switcher for S-Video
/Stereo Audio are fully automated S-Video Switchers. Each has 4 individual
S-Video inputs with 2 identical S-Video outputs and is useful for routing signals
from S-Video source devices (such as: VCRs, Camcorders, Game Consoles,
Video CDs, DVD's, Satellite Receivers, CATV Set Top Boxes, etc.) to S-Video
destination devices (such as: VCRs, DVD-Rs, TV Sets, Video Projectors, etc.).
This avoids the need for constantly moving cables around. In addition to the
innovative Auto mode, the Auto Switchers can operate in a Manual mode for
switching.
Before you ma ke any connections
Make sure all S-Video devices to be connected to the Auto S-Video Switcher are
functioning according to their respective operation manuals before connecting
them. Always connect the S-Video devices to the Auto S-Video Switcher one at
A time and make sure each works just as it did before it was connected.
Featur es of the Aut o S- Video Swi tche r
This device can be operated in two modes: Auto or Manual. In the Auto mode,
selected by pushing the Auto/Manual button on the front panel to the DOWN
position, the Auto S-Video Switcher will automatically pick up the input that
has a signal present. So, if you have four devices hooked up to the four inputs
and only one has its power turned on, that device will automatically be switched
to the output. If more than one device has power turned on, the one with the
higher number (SV1, SV2, SV3 or SV4) will be switched to the output. This
enables the unit to operate without an additional IR Remote Control unit by
turning power on and off to the source devices. When in the Manual mode,
selected by pushing the Auto/Manual button on the front panel to the UP position,
selection of input SV1, SV2, SV3 or SV4 to be routed to the S-Video output in done
by repeatedly pressing the Input Channel button to toggle through the inputs.
Typical Hookup and Operation
Choosing the right Auto S-Video Switcher
The S-Video Switcher should be used to handle S-Video and Stereo Audio
while the S-Video Switcher should be used to handle S-Video and Stereo Audio signals
signals,
Single Source Operation
When only one source devic e, such as a VCR, is connected, alw ays connect
device to the Auto S-Video Swit cher's AV1 input. Because AV1 is the default input,
it will automatically be fed to the S-Video outputs when the power is turned off.

the
Multiple Source Operation
As many as four S-Video devices, (such as: DVDs, Camcorders, Video Game
Satellite Receivers, Cable TV Set Top Boxes, etc.), can be connected to the Auto S-Video
Switcher via inputs AV1, AV2, AV3 and Av4. Note: The higher the number on the AV input,
the higher the priority. In other words, any S-Video device connected to AV2, AV3 or Av4
will have a higher priority than Av1 to be switched to the outputs when multiple signals are
present on the inputs.
Consoles,
Dual Outputs
Both of the S-Video outputs will have the same signal that has been selected by
switching logic of Auto S-Video Switcher. These dual outputs are provided for convenience.
