To reduce the risk of injury, turn unit
off and disconnect it from the power
source before installing and removing
accessories, before adjusting or making
repairs. An accidental start-up can cause
injury.
a.Engagetheatsofthespindlewiththe
suppliedspindlewrench.
b.Whileholdingthespindlewiththe
wrench,useyourotherhandtorotatetheplatecounterclockwisetoremove.
c.Toinstalltheplate,reversetheaboveprocedure.

Make certain that the switch is in the “OFF” position, and the power source is
the same as that specified on the tool’s nameplate.

4SETTING THE SPEED
Themachinespeedcanbesetwiththe
speeddiallocatedattherearoftheunit.
Thenumbersonthespeeddialcorrespond
approximatelywiththespindlespeeds:
1: 2500 OPM Waxing & Buffing
2: 3200 OPM Waxing & Buffing
3: 3900 OPM Polishing & Cleaning
4: 4600 OPM Polishing & Cleaning
5: 5500 OPM Removing Paint Defects & Oxidation
6: 6500 OPM Removing Paint Defects & Oxidation
5USING THE POLISHER
If your workspace is so light that it can be moved by the rotating pad,
anchor it securely to prevent possible bodily injury.
a.Readandfollowthedirectionssuppliedwiththeproduct(polishes,waxes,
cleaners,etc.)
b.Applyasmallamountoftheproductdirectlytothepolishingpad.
c.Graspthepolisherrmlywithbothhands
-onehandonauxiliaryhandleandoneon
themotorhousing.
d.Positionthepolisherwiththepolishing
padagainsttheworksurfaceandstartthe
polisher.
NEVER run or stop the tool when it is
not in contact with the work surface.
e.Movethepolisherbackandforthina
sweepingmotion,over-lappingeachprevi-
ouspass.Seediagramonpage9.
f.DONOTapplyadditionalpressure.Allowthepolishertoworkunderitsownweight.
g.DONOTmixproducts(wax,polish,cleaner,etc.)onthesamepad.Labeleachpad
topreventconfusion.

Thecoolairopeningsinthemotorcasingmustalwaysbekeptcleanandunobstruct-

tenanceandrepairworkwhichrequiresthemotorcasingtobeopenedmayonlybe
carriedoutbyanauthorizedservicecenter.
Keepunitcleananddry.Wipedownandcleanaftereachuse.Donotsubmersein
water.

desiredsurfaceiscleananddry.Avoidusingyourpolisheronadirtysurface,itmay
causedamage,suchasscratchesorswirls,tothepaintorgelcoat.
Althoughyoumayusewax,Shurholdrecommendsthatapolish,suchasShurhold’s
ProPolish,beusedforthemostsignicantimprovementinthe
surface’sappearance.ProPolishisapaintandberglass/
gelcoatcleaner,sealantandpolishwithUVinhibitorsthat
producesanultrahighglossnishinoneeasystep.Formu-
latedwithcosmeticgradeingredients,itcontainsnollersor
talc,protectingyournishagainstsun,salt,acidrainandother
harshenvironmentalelements.
Besuretouseaseparatepadforeachcompound.Avoidusing
differentcompoundsonthesamepad.Aplasticbaggieisa
goodstoragesourceforpadstobeusedagainafterproper
cleaningofpad.
Besuretoworkinanenvironmentwithgoodlighting,suchas

ideal,toomuchcompoundinoneareawill
causeittoingoffthepad.Usingthetoolin
theoffposition,dabthepadagainstasmall
workareatodistributethepolish.
STEP 4
BesurePolisherisoff.Turnspeeddialtoaspeedof1or2.Holdpadagainstsurface
tobepolished,andswitchPolisheron.Oncethepolishhasabsorbedintothepad,the
Polishercanbeusedatahigherspeedsuchas3or4.

STEP 5
Toworkthepolishintothesurface,increasethePolisher’sspeedto3or4.Holdpad
atagainstsurface,andslowlymovethepadinthepatternshownbelow.Overlap
eachpasshalfway,whilepolishingupanddown,thenlefttoright.
STEP 6
Onceyou’vepolishedenoughthatonlyathinlayerofpolishremains,youmaystop.
Checktoseeyou’vecoveredalltheareasnecessary.Theremainderofthepolishcan
beremovedwithamicrobertowel.
