LED display explained
The LED (Light Emitting Diode)
indicates the different states of
the headset:
Adjusting the headset
To ensure that your Bluetooth™
headset sits comfortably on your
ear, you can:
- gently bend the ear hook to suit
the shape of your ear and
- reverse the ear hook so that
you can wear the headset on eit-
her ear.
Reversing the ear hook:
1. Gently pull the ear hook side-
ways out of its holder.
2. Turn the ear hook and
carefully insert it on the other
side:
• for the right ear:

Wearing the headset
correctly
Wear the Bluetooth™headset as
shown in the diagram. The
microphone must always point
towards your mouth.
What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth™ is a short-range
radio link. It enables wireless
communication between
various terminals equipped with
Bluetooth™.
The Bluetooth headset will only
work in conjunction with a
Bluetooth-enabled mobile
phone capable of supporting the
headset- or hands-free profile,
such as the Siemens S55 or SX1.
Hands-free profile is preferred.
Please read the notes on
Bluetooth™links in your mobile
phone manual as the controls
and display messages differ
between phones.
Every Bluetooth™device has a
unique address and name. This
ensures that it communicates
with the right partner. The
security concept is based on a
password that the devices
exchange when they first
register (p. 6).
Setting up the headset
Before you can use your
Bluetooth™headset, you need
to:
• charge the headset and
• register the headset with the
mobile phone.
Charging the Bluetooth
headset
The battery supplied has not
been fully charged.
To charge the headset you will
need the charging adapter
supplied with the package, or
optionally:
• a Siemens Travel Charger or
• a Siemens Car Charger.

The Travel Charger and Car
Charger are available from the
range of original Siemens
accessories.
1. Insert the charging adapter o
in the headset n.
2. Insert the charging unit
connector pinto the
charging adapter as shown.
3. Plug the charging unit into the
wall socket. Please read the
notes on the charging unit in
the relevant manual.
Charge time
A flat battery takes about two
and a half hours to fully charge.
Display during charging
The headset switches off
automatically when it is
connected to a charging unit.
The LED is red during charging.
When the battery is fully
charged, the LED is green.
Registering the headset with
the mobile phone.
The headset must be switched
off.
1. Hold down the on/off button
for at least 5 seconds. The LED
is now illuminated and your
mobile phone can now
"search" for the Bluetooth™
headset.
2. Activate search mode on your
mobile phone. Please read the
notes in your mobile phone
manual.
3. When the mobile phone finds
your headset, this will be
shown on your display with
the device name
HHB-505.
4. If requested, enter the
password (PIN) for the
headset into your mobile
phone:
0000.
The Bluetooth™ headset is now
registered with the mobile
phone.

Switching the Bluetooth
headset on and off
Hold down the on/off button for
between 2 and 5 seconds. The
headset is now switched on. The
LED will flash.
To switch off the headset, hold
down the on/off button again.
Resetting the headset
To register the Bluetooth™
headset with another mobile
phone, you must reset the
headset to the factory settings:
1. Switch off the headset (see
above).
2. On the headset, hold down
the on/off button and the Ò
key for at least 5 seconds. The
LED will flash rapidly 5x.
The headset has now been reset
to the factory settings. You can
now register the headset with
another mobile phone (p. 6).
Making a phone call
To make a telephone call, the
headset must be switched on
(see left) and there must be a
link to the mobile phone (p. 6).
The procedure described below
only applies to Siemens mobile
phones. It may be different for
other manufacturers’ mobiles.
The following symbols are used
to explain operation:

Voice dialling
You can dial a number by saying
the name aloud. A voice
recording of the name must be
stored with the number in the
address book in the mobile
phone. Please read the manual
for your mobile phone.
This function can only be
guaranteed on Siemens mobile
phones.
1. Briefly press the PTT key.
2. Say the name.
If the name is recognised, the
mobile phone dials the
associated telephone
number.
If the name is not recognised,
press the PTT key again to
redial.
You will hear a short rising tone,
once the connection has been
made. *
Dialling using the mobile
phone
1. Dial as normal using the
mobile phone.
2. Briefly press the PTT key to
continue the call using the
headset.
You will hear a short rising tone,
once the connection has been
made. *
Ending a call
Hold down the PTT key. The call is
ended.
You will hear a short falling tone,
once the connection has been
terminated. *
The headset remains ready for
operation.
Setting the volume
You can control the volume level
using the rocker switch.
The volume setting on the
headset does not affect the
volume setting on the mobile
phone.
Answering a call
Press the PTT key.
Putting a call on hold
Briefly press the PTT key. To
continue the call, press the PTT
key again.

Call waiting/toggling
between calls
If someone calls you while you
are already in a call, you will hear
a 'call waiting tone'.
To accept the new call, press the
PTT key. The new call is put on
hold.
You now have the following
options:
Toggling
To accept the new call and put
the old call on hold, briefly press
the PTT key.
To swap between the two calls,
briefly press the PTT key again.
Terminating the current call
Hold down the PTT key. The active
call is ended.
The second call is put on hold.
Hold down the PTT key to resume
this call.
Picking up a call

Bedeutung der LED-Anzeige
Die Leuchtdiode (LED) signali-
siert die verschiedenen Zustän-
de des Headset:
Headset anpassen
Damit Ihr Bluetooth™Headset
komfortabel am Ohr sitzt, kön-
nen Sie:
- den Ohrbügel durch vorsichti-
ges Biegen Ihrem Ohr anpassen
und
- den Ohrbügel umstecken, so

Headset korrekt tragen
Tragen Sie das Bluetooth™
Headset wie abgebildet. Die
Mikrofonöffnung sollte immer in
Richtung Mund zeigen.
Was ist Bluetooth?
Bluetooth™ ist eine Kurzstre-
ckenfunkverbindung.Sie erlaubt
die drahtlose Kommunikation
zwischen verschiedenen, mit
Bluetooth™ausgestatteten End-
geräten.
Das Bluetooth™Headset funkti-
oniert nur in Verbindung mit ei-
nem Bluetooth™-fähigen Mobil-
telefon, das das Headset- oder
Handsfree Profil unterstützen
kann, wie z. B. das Siemens S55
oder SX1. Dabei wird das Hands-
free Profil präferiert. Bitte beach-
ten Sie auch die Hinweise zu
Bluetooth™-Verbindungen in
der Bedienungsanleitung des
Mobiltelefons, da die Bedienele-
mente und Displayanzeigen von
Mobiltelefon zu Mobiltelefon
unterschiedlich sind.
Jedes Bluetooth™-Gerät hat eine
eindeutige Adresse und einen
Namen. So ist gewährleistet,
dass sich die richtigen Kommu-
nikationspartner verbinden. Das
Sicherheitskonzept basiert auf
einem Passwort, das beide Gerä-
te bei der ersten Bekanntma-
chung austauschen (S. 15).
Inbetriebnahme
Bevor Sie das Bluetooth™Head-
set nutzen können, müssen Sie:
• das Headset laden und
• das Headset mit dem Mobilte-
lefon bekannt machen.
Bluetooth Headset laden
Der Akku ist im Lieferzustand
noch nicht vollständig geladen.
Zum Laden des Headset benöti-
gen Sie den im Lieferumfang
enthaltenen Ladeadapter und
das Ladegerät, oder optional:
• einen Siemens Travel Charger
oder
• einen Siemens Car Charger.

Ladezeit
Ein leerer Akku erreicht nach
etwa 2,5 Stunden die volle
Ladung.
Anzeige im Ladebetrieb
Während das Headset an ein La-
degerät angeschlossen ist, ist es
automatisch ausgeschaltet. Die
LED leuchtet während des Lade-
vorgangs rot. Ist der Akku voll
aufgeladen, leuchtet die LED
grün.
Headset mit Mobiltelefon
bekannt machen
Das Headset muss ausgeschaltet
sein.
1. Drücken Sie die Ein-/Aus-Taste
für min. 5 Sekunden. Die LED
leuchtet permanent. Das Blue-
tooth™Headset kann nun von
Ihrem Mobiltelefon „gesucht“
werden.
2. Aktivieren Sie den Suchmodus
auf Ihrem Mobiltelefon. Lesen
Sie dazu die Hinweise in der
Bedienungsanleitung Ihres
Mobiltelefons.
3. Findet das Mobiltelefon Ihr
Headset, wird dieses auf dem
Display des Mobiltelefons
unter dem Gerätenamen
HHB-505 angezeigt.
4. Geben Sie am Mobiltelefon,
falls gefordert, das Passwort
(PIN) des Headset:

ein.
Das Bluetooth™Headset ist jetzt
dem Mobiltelefon bekannt.

Bluetooth Headset ein- und
ausschalten
Drücken Sie die Ein-/Aus-Taste
lang (zwischen 2 und 5 Sekun-
den). Das Headset ist einge-
schaltet. Die LED blinkt.
Zum Ausschalten drücken Sie er-
neut die Ein-/Aus-Taste lang.
Zurücksetzen
Um das Bluetooth™Headset mit
einem anderen Mobiltelefon be-
kannt zu machen, setzen Sie das
Headset in den Lieferzustand zu-
rück:
1. Schalten Sie das Headset aus
(siehe oben).
2. Drücken Sie dann am Headset
gleichzeitig die Ein-/Aus-Taste
und die Ò-Taste mehr als
5 Sekunden. Die LED blinkt 5x
schnell.
Das Headset ist dann wieder im
ursprünglichen Lieferzustand.
Sie können das Headset jetzt mit

Telefonieren
Voraussetzung für das Telefonie-
ren mit Headset ist, dass das
Headset eingeschaltet ist (siehe
links) und eine Verbindung zu ei-
nem Mobiltelefon hergestellt ist
(S. 15).
Die im Folgenden beschriebe-
nen Bedienabläufe gelten nur
für Siemens Mobiltelefone. Bei
Mobiltelefonen anderer Herstel-
ler können sich andere Abläufe
ergeben.
Folgende Symbole werden zur

Sprachwahl
Sie können Rufnummern nur
durch Ansage eines Namens
wählen. Dazu muss zur Rufnum-
mer eine Sprachaufzeichnung
des Namens im Adressbuch des
Mobiltelefons gespeichert wer-
den. Lesen Sie dazu die Bedie-
nungsanleitung des Mobiltele-
fons.
Diese Funktionalität kann nur für
Siemens Mobiltelefone sicher-
gestellt werden.
1. Drücken Sie kurz die PTT-Tas-
te.
2. Sagen Sie den Namen an.
Wird der Name erkannt, wählt
das Mobiltelefon die zugehö-
rige Telefonnummer.
Wird der Name nicht erkannt,
drücken Sie erneut die PTT-
Taste, um die Wahl zu wieder-
holen.
Es ertönt eine kurze ansteigende
Tonfolge, sobald die Sprachver-
bindung aufgebaut wird. *
Wahl über das Mobiltelefon
1. Wählen Sie wie gewohnt am
Mobiltelefon.
2. Drücken Sie kurz die PTT-Tas-
te, um das Gespräch über das
Headset zu führen.
Es ertönt eine kurze ansteigende
Tonfolge, sobald die Sprachver-
bindung aufgebaut wird. *
Gespräch beenden
Drücken Sie die PTT-Taste lang.
Das Gespräch wird beendet.

Das Headset bleibt betriebsbe-
reit.
Lautstärke einstellen
Mit der Wipptaste stellen Sie die
Lautstärke ein.
Die hier eingestellte Lautstärke
beeinflusst nicht die Einstellun-
gen am Mobiltelefon.
Anruf annehmen
Drücken Sie die PTT-Taste.
Halten des Gesprächs
Drücken Sie kurz die PTT-Taste.
Um das Gespräch fortzusetzen,
drücken Sie erneut die PTT-Taste.
