disk drive to a Serial ATA controller of any brand and
supports data rates up to 133 MB/s
• Use this adapter with a SIIG Serial ATA controller to maximize
device support

• Plugs into the 40-pin connector of an Ultra ATA hard disk drive.

Anti-Static Precaution
StaticElectricityDischargemaypermanentlydamageyoursystem.To
avoid possible static electricity discharge during the installation,
pleasefollowtheguidelines below:
•Discharge any static electricity build up in your body by
touching a large grounded metal surface or the computer’s case
(ifplugged in), for a few seconds.
•During the installation, avoid any contact with internal parts.
Handle cards only by their external edges.

Device Connection
Before you start, turn OFF your computer and any other connected
peripheral devices. Unplug the computer's power cord.
For best results, make sure the driver for your existing Serial ATA
controller is properly installed.
1. Connect the Serial ATA cable and the mini-size power cable
to the Serial ATA-to-Ultra ATA Adapter.
Note: For your convenience, a "Y" split power cable is included.
You don't have to use it if your system has a mini-size power
connector available.

3. Attach the other end of the Serial ATA cable to your existing
Serial ATA controller. Installation is now complete.
2. ConnecttheSerialATA-to-UltraATA Adapterto theUltraATA
hard disk drive. Make sure pin 1 of the adapter matches pin 1
on the hard disk drive.
Note: Make sure the UltraATA hard disk drive has its own
power.
