Introduction
Congratulations on the purchase of your new device. You
have selected a high quality product. The instructions for use
are a part of this product. They contain important information
about safety, using the product and disposal. Before using the product,
please familiarise yourself with all the operating and safety instructions.
Only use the product as described and for its indicated purpose. When
passing this product on to others, please be sure to include all its docu-
mentation.
Intended use
This electronic entertainment device is intended to be used for listening
to radio programmes, as an alarm clock with an alarm tone, and as a
radio within the home. It is not intended for any other use or additional
purposes. This product is not intended for medical, life-saving or life-sus-
taining use. Any use of the product for other or additional purposes is
considered improper use. Any claims for damages resulting from improper
use of or unauthorized modifications to the device are excluded. This
user bears all risk.
This product is suitable only for indoor use.

Improper use can result in personal injury and property damage.
Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety
instructions and instructions for use! When passing this product on to
others, please also include all the documents!
DANGER TO LIFE AND RISK OF
ACCIDENT FOR INFANTS AND CHILDREN!
DANGER
Risk of suffocation! Packaging material (i.e film or polystyrene)
should not be used to play with. Always keep children away from
the packaging material. The packaging material is not a toy.
Keep electrical devices away from children. People with sensory,
motor, mental and physical impairments should not use the electrical
device, unless they are instructed and supervised by a responsible
person. This product is not a toy! Keep packaging materials away
from children - it poses a risk of suffocation.
RISK OF PROPERTY DAMAGE
This product does not contain any parts which can be serviced by
the user. The LEDs cannot be replaced.
Check the product before every use! If you discover any damage to
the device or the mains lead, discontinue using the device!
If you notice anything unusual during use (e.g. unusual noise, strange
odour or smoke), switch the device off immediately, unplug the power
plug from socket and remove the batteries. Do not use the device any-
more until it has been checked by a qualified person.

Sudden temperature changes may cause condensation inside the
device. In this case, allow the device to acclimate for some time
before using it again!
Do not place lit candles or an open fire on the product or in its proximity.
Do not use the product near heat sources such as radiators or other
devices emitting heat!
Do not throw the product in the fire and do not expose it to high
temperatures.
DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
Do not try to open the device! It has no internal parts requiring
maintenance.
Never touch the mains plug or the device with damp or wet hands.
Do not independently convert or modify the device.
Repairs to the device must be performed by authorised specialised
companies or customer service. Improper repairs may result in con-
siderable danger to the user. They will also void the warranty.
Avoid the danger of death
from electric shock!
Verify before every use that the available mains voltage corresponds
to the required operating voltage of the device (220–240V∼ 50 Hz)!
Before using the product, verify that the product and the cable con-
nection are not damaged! Never operate a damaged device!
The appliance must be plugged into an easily accessible socket so it
can easily be unplugged in the event of an emergency.
Always place the product on a stable and even surface. It could be
damaged if it fell over.
Do not cover the ventilation openings. Otherwise, there will be
danger of a fire.
Do not place any containers filled with liquids (i.e. vases or drinks)
onto the device or next to the device. If liquids are spilled into the

product, immediately unplug the power plug from socket and remove
the batteries. Do not use the device anymore until it has been checked
by a qualified person.
The product also consumes a small amount of energy as long as the
mains plug is still plugged into the mains socket. To separate the device
completely from the mains, unplug the power plug from the socket.
Always remove the mains plug by the plug itself from mains socket.
Never pull by its cable.
Always place the mains cable so nobody will trip over it.
Do not place heavy objects, for example furniture, on a power cord.
This apparatus is for moderate climates areas use, not suitable for use
in tropical climates countries.
Battery safety
information
DANGER TO LIFE! Batteries do not belong in the
hands of children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical
attention! There is a danger of severe internal chemical burns.
CAUTION! EXPLOSION HAZARD! Never recharge
non-rechargeable batteries, do not short-circuit and/ or
open batteries since this can lead to chemical leakage!
Never throw batteries into fire or water!
Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries!
Risk of battery leakage!
In the event of a battery leak, immediately remove it from the device
to prevent damage!
RISK OF ACID BURNS! Wear protective gloves.

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes! In the
event of contact with battery acid, thoroughly flush the affected area
with plenty of clean water and seek immediate medical attention!
Only use the same type of batteries! Do not mix used and new
batteries!
Avoid extreme conditions and temperatures which may impact
batteries, e.g. on radiators!
Remove the batteries from the device if they have not been used for
a long period!
Risk of damage to the device!
Only use the specified battery type!
When inserting the battery ensure the correct polarity has been
used! This is shown in the battery compartment!
If necessary, clean the battery and device contacts before inserting
the battery!
Remove dead batteries from the device immediately!
Inserting batteries
Note: To avoid losing the time and alarm clock settings as a result
of a potential power failure, insert two batteries 1.5V, AA. The batteries
ensure that the internal clock also functions during a power failure. As
soon as the power is switched on again, the correct time is shown on
the display 1automatically.
Note: During emergency mode the display, radio, alarm and night-
light do not function.
Note: The batteries should be replaced once a year to guarantee
that the alarm clock works perfectly.

Note: The display, radio, alarm clock and night light do not function
in emergency mode.
Open the battery compartment 15 on the underside of the device
by removing the cover.
Insert two 1.5V, AA batteries (not included in the scope of delivery)
into the battery compartment 15 . Ensure correct polarity. This is
indicated in the battery compartment 15 .
Close the battery compartment 15 by placing the cover on top of it
and clicking it into place.
Establishing the power supply
Note: Before you connect the device, compare the connection
information on the type plate (voltage and frequency) with your mains
supply information. Ensure that the values correspond so that no damage
occurs to the device.
Plug the mains plug into a socket. The time ( ) will flash on the
display 1.
VHF cable aerial
Unwind the cable aerial 3completely for the VHF reception.
Initial use
Setting the time
Note: Make sure to set the time quickly as entering the settings is
interrupted after approx. 5 seconds if a button has not been pressed. All
settings made so far will be automatically saved.

Press the TIME/SET button 9for approx. 2 seconds. The 24 hour
clock ( ) flashes on the display 1.
To switch between the 24 hour clock ( ) and the 12 hour clock
(), press the VOL +/MIN-button 6or VOL -/HR-button 5.
To apply the setting, press the TIME/SET button 9again.
Press the TIME/SET button 9. The time flashes now on the
display 1.
To set the hour, press or hold the VOL -/HR-button 5.
To set the minutes, press or hold the VOL +/MIN-button 6.
To apply the set time, press the TIME/SET button 9.
Note: If the 12 hour clock has been set, from 12:00 midday a dot
(PM) appears in the upper right corner of the display 1
Note: If the device is disconnected from the power supply and no
batteries have been inserted the time, alarm clock, station memory
will be erased.
Switching the radio on and off
Note: You can set the frequency range UKW (FM) from 87.5 to
108.0 MHz and MW (AM) from 522 to 1620 kHz.
However, it may be that diverging national regulations in different
countries exist regarding the permissible broadcasting frequency ranges.
The reception may be a punishable offense in some countries. Therefore,
ensure the following: do not utilize information received outside of the
permissible broadcasting frequency ranges, do not pass this onto third
parties or do not use this improperly.

To switch on the device, press the /FM/AM button 11 .
To switch off the device, press the /FM/AM button 11 for approx.
2 seconds.
Note: To switch between AM and FM, press the / FM / AM 11
briefing.
Adjusting the volume
Set the desired volume using the VOL + / MIN -button 6or VOL -/
HR-button 5.
The volume can be adjusted in a range of 00 to 16. The adjusted
volume level is indicated for about 3 seconds in the display, then the
display will change for about 3 seconds to the frequency display
and then back to the time.
Setting the radio stations manually
To set the desired frequency range, press the /FM/AM button
11 briefly. When VHF has been received, a dot (FM) appears on
the display 1, when AM has been received a dot (AM).
To fine tune the frequency, press the DOWN/ AL1 button 12 or the
UP/AL2 button 13 briefing.
Note: The frequency is set in 0.05-MHz stages when VHF is being
received. At a frequency of 0.05 MHz (i.e. 99.25 MHz), a dot
(0.05) appears on the display on the right.
Note: The speaker 14 is switched off during the search for radio
stations, the frequency of the radio station is shown on the display 1.

Searching for other radio stations
Note: The device can automatically search for the nearest radio
station.
Press the UP/AL2 button 13 for approx. 2 seconds The device
searches for the radio station with the next highest frequency.
Press the DOWN/AL1 button 12 for approx. 2 seconds. The de-
vice searches for the radio station with the next lowest radio station.
Note: You can only begin the automatic radio station search for
the nearest radio station if a frequency is shown on the display 1.
If the device changes to the time display, press the UP/AL2 button
13 or the DOWN/AL1 button 12 to change to the frequency dis-
play again. Only then can you start the automatic radio station
search.
Saving a radio station manually
Note: The device has 20 radio station presets in total. For each fre-
quency range (FM or AM) there are 10 radio station presets available.
Set the desired radio as described in the chapter „setting the radio
stations manually“ or „searching for other radio stations“.
Press the TIME/SET button 9. On the display 1the number of
radio station presets flashes i.e. .
To set a radio station preset, press the VOL +/ MIN -button 6or
VOL -/HR-button 5.
To save the setting, press the TIME TIME/ SET 9again.

Automatic radio station search
(AMS function)
Note: Using the AMS function, the device automatically searches
for radio stations and saves these on the 10 presets of the respective
frequency band.
Note: Note that while the AMS function is working, all previously
saved radio stations are lost.
Press the M+/AMS button 7for approx. 2 seconds. The device
begins the radio station search and fills the presets up to
with the radio stations it has found. The preset flashes briefly on the
display 1as each radio station is saved. The search stops when
all preset spaces have been filled or when the radio station has
been found.
Select saved radio stations
To select the presets to , press the M+/ AMS button 7
repeatedly.
Programme the alarm time
and the alarm type
Note: You can choose when programming the alarm times whether
you would like an alarm tone to ring or if the radio should switch on
when the alarm goes off. You can programme two different alarm times
(Alarm 1/Alarm 2). Ensure that the radio has been switched off.

Press the DOWN/AL1 button 12 or UP / AL2 button 13 . On the
display 1the time will flash and a dot will appear in the left or
right corner beside the type of “alarm“ ( ).
To set the hour, press or hold the VOL -/HR-button 5.
To set the minutes, press or hold the VOL +/MIN-button 6.
Press the DOWN/AL1 button 12 or UP / AL2 button 13 to set the
“radio“ ( ) as the alarm. On the display 1a dot appears in the
left or right corner beside the alarm „radio“ ( ). The time and the
dot are now blinking.
To apply a setting, wait until the time and the dot beside the alarm
type stop flashing.
Note: If you would prefer the „radio“ to be your alarm, the last
programmed radio station and volume will be broadcast.
Activate the alarm function
To activate the alarm function, press the DOWN/AL1 button 12 or
UP/AL2 button 13 briefly one or more times. A dot appears on the
display next to the alarm (1 or 2) symbolizing the waking up function
with alarm ( ) or with the radio ( ).
Deactivate the alarm
To switch off the alarm for 24 hours, press the /FM/AM button
11 while the alarm is ringing.
Note: The device automatically stops the alarm after an hour if the
alarm has not been switched off manually.

Deactivate the alarm function
Press the DOWN/AL1 button 12 or the UP/AL2 button 13 repeat-
edly until the dot beside the alarm type ( = Alarm, = Radio)
goes away.
Snooze function
To switch off the alarm temporarily, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT/
DIM button 10 while the alarm is ringing. The alarm will be reacti-
vated after approx. 6 mins.
When alarm is temporarily turned off, the LED blinks on the display.
Automatic switch off (SLEEP function)
Note: Using the SLEEP function, the device switches itself off accord-
ing to a time set by you between 60 and 10 minutes.
To switch on the device, press the SLEEP button 8. On the display
1a switch-off time of 60 minutes appears. To shorten the switch-off
time by a further 10 minutes, press the SLEEP button 8again.
Press the SLEEP button 8repeatedly until the desired switch-off
time is shown on the display 1. After a few seconds the time will
show up on the display 1again.
To switch off the SLEEP function, press the SLEEP button 8repeat-
edly until OFF shows up on the display 1. Alternatively press the
/FM/AM button 11 ; the device will also switch off.
Note: When sleep function is activated, the frequency band cannot
be changed between AM and FM.

Adjust the display light
To dim the face of the display 1, press the SNOOZE / LIGHT /
DIM button 10 for approx. 2 seconds.
To make the face of the display 1brighter again, press the
SNOOZE/LIGHT/DIM button 10 again for approx. 2 seconds
Switching the nightlight on/off
To switch on the nightlight 4, press the SNOOZE / LIGHT / DIM
button 10 briefly.
To switch off the nightlight, press the SNOOZE / LIGHT / DIM button
10 again briefly.
Cleaning and Care
Remove the power plug from the mains socket before cleaning the
device.
Only clean the outside of the device using a soft, dry cloth!
Use a slightly dampened cloth and mild cleaning agent to clean.
Never use solvents or abrasives as these could damage the surface
of the radio.
Storage at non-usage
If you do not want to use the device for a long period of time,
unplug the power plug from socket, remove the batteries and store
