andbasicdrawingsrequiredforthephysicalinstallationoftheSimrad
ES38DD.Themanualfurtherprovidesrelevantdescriptionsand
illustrationstoexplainthebasicprinciplesforlocationandnoise
considerations.
Note
Theinstallationshipyardmustprovideallnecessaryinstallation
drawings.Ifrequired,alldocumentsprovidedbytheshipyardfor
thephysicalinstallationoftheES38DDmustbeapprovedbythe
vessel’ snationalregistryandcorrespondingmaritimeauthority
and/orclassicationsociety.Theshipownerandshipyarddoingthe
installationareresponsibleforobtainingandpayingforsuchapproval.

electricians,qualiedengineersandnavalarchitects.Itisassumedthatyouunderstand
thegeneralprinciplesofmaritimeelectronicequipment.Y oumustalsobefamiliarwith
theinstallationofelectronicandmechanicalproducts.Youareexpectedtohavebasic
mechanicalskillsandfamiliaritywithhandlingofsensitiveelectronicequipment.
Installationinstructionsanddrawings
Theinformationinthisdocumentmustberegardedasgeneralguidelinesand
recommendationsonly.Theinstallationshipyardmustdesignandmanufacture
installationhardwaretoteachindividualtransduceronthevessel.

Theinstallationshipyardmustprovideallnecessarydesignandinstallationdrawings,as
wellastherelevantworkstandardsandmountingprocedures.
Ifrequired,alldocumentsprovidedbytheshipyardforthephysicalinstallationof
theES38DDmustbeapprovedbythevessel’ snationalregistryandcorresponding
maritimeauthorityand/orclassicationsociety.Suchapprovalmustbeobtainedbefore
theinstallationcanbegin.Theshipownerandshipyarddoingtheinstallationare
responsibleforobtainingandpayingforsuchapproval.

downto1500metresdepth.Thismakesthetransducer
wellsuitedforlandersandtowedbodies.
Thetransducerisdesignedformountingthroughthe
hullusingamountingring.Thetransducercableis
1metrelongandisttedwithBurtonfemaletransducer
connector.
