MAINTENANCE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
High Temperature and High Pressure
Hazards
• High surface temperatures may
be present on some components
during the operation of the ma-
chine or after the machine has
been operating for some time.
High temperatures may cause
burns through skin contact. Do
not touch any hot parts!
• It is forbidden to repair or tighten
hydraulic hoses or seals while the
machine is operating or when the
oil system is under pressure.
• Before loosening or disassem-
bling the hydraulic parts (espe-
cially the counterbalance valve on
the cylinder), the hydraulic pres-
sure of all hydraulic lines should
be released and the hydraulic oil
should completely cool down.
• For engine-powered machines,
do not open the radiator cap while
the coolant is at high
temperatures.
• Disassemble the hydraulic com-
ponents slowly to prevent hy-
draulic oil from splashing and
injuring people.
• Never check for hydraulic lea-
kages by hand. Use a piece of
cardboard or stiff paper to locate
leaks, and wear gloves to protect
your hands from spraying hy-
draulic fluid.
• Do not operate the machine in
case of hydraulic or air leaks. Oil
or air leakage from the hydraulic
system may penetrate and burn
the skin.
• Never plug hydraulic leaks by
hand. If there is a leak, the pres-
sure of the hydraulic system
should be released first, mainte-
nance/repair should be carried
out after the hydraulic oil has
cooled down.
• If injury occurs due to high tem-
perature and/or high pressure,
seek immediate medical attention.
If treatment is not carried out im-
mediately, serious complications
may result.
Platform-based Welding and Grinding
Operation Hazards
• Welding, grinding and polishing
operations must follow the appro-
priate local safety procedures.
• Before performing welding, grind-
ing and polishing operations, turn
off the machine’s power, and en-
sure that all wires or cables are
connected correctly.
• Do not use the machine as a
ground wire during welding and
grinding operations.
• Always make sure that all power
tools are placed completely within
the perimeter of the platform. Do
not hang the cords of power tools
on the guardrail of the platform or
in any work area outside the plat-
form, and do not hang the power
tools directly by their cords.
Fire and Explosion Hazards
• Do not operate the machine,
charge the battery or refuel the
machine in places where poten-
tially flammable or explosive
gases may be present.
• Refueling and charging should be
carried out in a well-ventilated
place without flames, sparks, and
other hazards that may cause fire
or explosion.
• For engine-powered machines,
do not refuel the machine while
the engine is running.
• Never spray ether or other start-
ing agents into glow-plug-
equipped engines (engine-pow-
ered machines).
• Never touch the battery terminals
or cable clamps with tools that
can generate sparks.
• Only approved non-flammable
cleaning solutions should be used
on the machine.
