5.1Gettingstarted

•Removethecover onthebottom oftheMobileDataCopierandinsertthreeAAA
batteries.WithfullychargedbatteriestheMD-011 canbeusedactively for5
hours.
•Press the‘Power/Command’buttonfor2secondstoturntheMobileDataCopier
on.The‘MainMenu’willappear.
•The‘No Disk’messagewillbeshownwhennodeviceisconnected.
•The‘USB’and‘SM/CF/MS/SD’iconswilldisplayif aUSB deviceoramemorycard
isconnected.

5.2Copy All Data
If youwanttocopy alldatafromthesourcedevicetothetargetdeviceyouusethe
‘Copy All’command.
•Selectthesourcedevice.
•Press the‘Command’buttontoopenthe‘Command’menu.
•Select‘Copy All’tocopy alldatafromtheselecteddevice.Press‘Enter’to
continue.

•Selectthetargetdevicebyusingthe‘Up/Down’buttonsandpress ‘Enter’.
•A confirmationmessagewillappear,press‘Enter’tostartcopyingthedatafrom
thesourcedevicetothetargetdevice.
Note: Makesure thetargetUSB devicehasenoughspaceavailablebefore
copying.
•Thedataiscopiedsuccessfully whenthe‘Finished’messageappears.Press the
‘ESC’ keytocontinue.
Note: DonotdisconnectthedevicesfromtheMobileDataCopier,orturntheMobileData
Copier off,untilthedatatransfer hasfinished.
5.3Copy Files/Folders
Usethisoptionifyouwanttocopyspecificfiles/foldersfrom thesourcedevicetothe
targetdevice.
•Browsetothefiles/foldersyouwanttocopy.
•Clickthe‘Command’button,select‘Copy’andpress ‘Enter’.

•Anasterisk (*)willbeshownnexttotheselectedfile/foldertoindicatethat
file/folder hasbeenselected.
•Press the‘Up/Down’buttontohighlightadditionalfiles/folderstocopy.Clickthe
‘Enter’buttontoselectthefile/folder(anasterisk willbeshownnexttothe
file/folder).Repeatthisprocess untillalldesiredfiles/foldershavebeenselected.
•Press the‘Command’buttonandselectthetargetdevicebyusingthe‘Up/Down’
buttons.Pressthe‘Enter’button.
•A confirmationmessagewillappear,press‘Enter’tostartcopyingthedatafrom
thesourcedevicetothetargetdevice.

5.4DeleteFiles/Folders
Usethisoptionifyouwanttodeletespecificfiles/folders.
•Browsetothefiles/foldersyouwanttodelete.
•Clickthe‘Command’button,select‘Delete’andpress ‘Enter’.
•Anasterisk (*)willbeshownnexttotheselectedfile/foldertoindicatethat
file/folder hasbeenselected.
•Press the‘Up/Down’buttontohighlightadditionalfiles/folderstocopy.Clickthe
‘Enter’buttontoselectthefile/folder(anasterisk willbeshownnexttothe
file/folder).Repeatthisprocess untillalldesiredfiles/foldershavebeenselected.
•Press the‘Command’buttonandaconfirmationmessagewillappear,press‘Enter’
todeletethedatafromthedevice.
•Thedataisdeletedsuccessfully whenthe‘Finished’messageappears.Press the
‘ESC’ keytocontinue.

5.5.Folder names
TheMobileDataCopiercopiesthedataonthetargetdevice.Itautomaticallycreatesa
folder named‘sync001’. Ifthe‘sync001’folderalreadyexistsonthetargetdeviceitwill
automaticallycreateadditionalfoldersnamed‘sync002’, ‘sync003’, ‘sync004’, etc.
Thisensuresthateachoperationwillnot overwritetheexistingdataandfiles.
5.6Error Messages
Thereare3possiblewarningmessages:
-SourceDiskError:Checkthesourcedevice
-TargetDiskError:Checkthetargetdevice
-TargetDiskFull :Thetargetdeviceisfull,removedatafromthetarget
:devicebefore continuing.
5.7SystemInformation
The‘System’optioninthemainmenushowsthecurrentfirmwareversion.
5.8Power Off
•ToturnofftheMobileDataCopier pressthe‘Power/Command’buttonfortwo
seconds.
•WhenturnedonandnotusedtheMobileDataCopier willautomaticallyturnoff
after60 seconds.
6.InstallingtheCardreader
TheMobileDataCopiercanalsobeusedasamemorycardreader whenconnectedtoa
computerviathesuppliedUSB cable.
6.1WindowsXP,2000SP3&ME
Pleaseupdate Windows2000 toServicepack3orhigher before continuing
installation.Servicepackscanbedownloadedfreeof chargefromMicrosoft

website(www.microsoft.com)
•WindowsXP, 2000SP3&WindowsME donot require softwareinstallation.Native
Windowsdriversare usedtoinstallthecardreader.
•ConnecttheMobileDataCopier viatheUSB cabletotheUSBportofthe
computer.Turnonthecomputerandthesystem willdetectandinstallthe
reader/writer.
•Check‘My Computer’, there shouldbefourremovablediskiconsadded
representingthemediaslots.
6.2Windows98SE
Note:Install the software beforeplugging the MobileDataCopier intotheUSB
port!
•PlacetheCD-ROMintheCD driveandbrowseto the‘Drivers’folder.Runthe
setup.exefile.WindowswillstartinstallingtheSitecom cardreader.
•TheInstallShieldwizardwillstart,followtheon-screeninstructionstoinstallthe
software.
•Restartthecomputerwhenrequested.
•ConnecttheMobileDataCopier viatheUSB cabletotheUSBportofthe
computer.
•Thesystem willdetectandinstallthenewdevice.
•Check‘My Computer’, there shouldbefourremovablediskiconsadded
representingthemediaslots.
6.3.UsingtheReader
•Insertastoragecardintothereader.
•Open‘MyComputer’or‘FileExplorer’.
•Double-clickonthecorrectRemovableDisk icon.
•Access imagesandfilesonyourstoragecardsthesameway youopen,copy,
move,ordeleteimagesandfilesonyournormalharddisk drive.
Saving picturestoyour computer from the RemovableDisk
•Locateorcreateadestinationfolderyouwishtotransfer thepicturefilestoon
yourcomputer.(i.e.createanewfolder onthedesktop)
•Open 'My Computer' or 'FileExplorer',openthefoldercontainingthepicture
filesontheRemovableDisk Driveinthecardreader.Gototheeditmenuand
choose Selectall.
•Gototheeditmenuandchoose Copy.
•Gotothedestinationfolder.
•Gototheeditmenuandchoose Paste.
•Thepictureswillbecopiedtothedestinationfolder.
