Introduction
Congratulations on your purc ase of t e Wireless Gigabit VPN Router N750
X6. T e WLR-6001 is compliant wit 802.11a and 802.11n and up to 6 times
faster t an standard 802.11g based routers w ile still being compatible wit
802.11g & 802.11b devices. T e WLR-6001 is not only a Wireless Access
Point, but also doubles as a 4-port full-duplex Gigabit switc t at connects
your wired-Et ernet devices toget er at 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds.
At 300/450 Mbps wireless transmission rate, t e Access Point built into t e
Router uses advanced MIMO (Multi-Input, Multi-Output) tec nology to
transmit multiple streams of data in a single wireless c annel, giving you
seamless access to multimedia content. T e robust RF signal travels fart er,
eliminates dead spots and extends t e network range. For data protection and
privacy, t e WLR-6001 encodes all wireless transmissions wit WEP, WPA, or
WPA2 encryption.
Wit t e built-in DHCP Server & powerful SPI firewall, t e WLR-6001 protects
your computers against intruders and most known Internet attacks and also
provides safe VPN pass-t roug . Wit t e incredible speed and QoS function
of 802.11n t e WLR-6001 is ideal for media-centric applications like streaming
video, gaming, and VoIP telep ony to run multiple media-intense data
streams t roug t e network at t e same time, wit no degradation in
performance.
Wit Sitecom Cloud Security, Sitecom goes one step furt er and ensures t at
you can surf t e Internet even more safely, not only on your PC, but on all
t e devices in your ome w ic you use to access t e Internet. All t e
Internet devices in your ome are protected against t e dangers of Internet
criminality.
You can use t e WLR-6001 as a VPN client to access an external VPN server
or you can configure t e router as a VPN server to be able to access your
ome network from any location using t e Internet. Wit VPN tec nology you
always make use of a ig ly secured and encrypted VPN tunnel.

3 Cautions
T is router’s design and manufacturer as your safety in mind. In order to
safely and effectively use t is router, please read t e following before usage.
3.1 Usage Cautions
T e user s ould not modify t is router. T e environmental temperature s ould
be wit in +5 ~ +35 degrees Celsius.
3.2 Powe
T e router’s power voltage is DC 12V 1.25A.
W en using t is router, please connect t e supplied AC adapter or AC adapter
cable to t e router’s power jack. W en placing t e adapter cable, make sure it
can not get damaged or be subject to pressure. To reduce t e risk of electric
s ock, unplug t e adapter first before cleaning it. Never connect t e adapter
to t e router in a umid or dusty area. Do not replace t e adapter or cable’s
wire or connector.
3.3 Repai
If t e router as a problem, you s ould take it to an appointed repair centre
and let t e specialists do t e repair. Never repair t e router yourself, you
mig t damage t e router or endanger yourself.
3.4 Disposing of the Route
W en you dispose of t e router, be sure to dispose it appropriately. Some
countries may regulate disposal of an electrical device, please consult wit
your local aut ority.
3.5 Othe s
W en using t is router, please do not let it come into contact wit water or
ot er liquids. If water is accidentally spilled on t e router, please use a dry
clot to absorb t e spillage. Electronic products are vulnerable, w en using
please avoid s aking or itting t e router, and do not press t e buttons too
ard.

- Do not disassemble t e router, repair t e router or c ange t e design of t e
router, any damage done will not be included in t e repair policy.
- Avoid itting t e router wit a ard object, avoid s aking t e router and
stay away from magnetic fields.
- If during electrostatic disc arge or a strong electromagnetic field t e
product will malfunction, unplug t e power cable. T e product will return to
normal performance t e next time it is powered on.

5 Network + System Requirements
To begin using t e WLR-6001, make sure you meet t e following as minimum
requirements:
•PC/Notebook.
•Operating System – Microsoft Windows XP/2000/VISTA/7
•1 Free Et ernet port.
•WiFi card/USB dongle (802.11 b/g/n) – optional.
•External xDSL (ADSL) or Cable modem wit an Et ernet port (RJ-45).
•PC wit a Web-Browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Opera)
•Et ernet compatible CAT5e cables.
6 WLR-6001 Placement
You can place t e WLR-6001 on a desk or ot er flat surface, or you can mount
it on a wall. For optimal performance, place your Wireless Broadband Router
in t e center of your ome (or your office) in a location t at is away from any
potential source of interference, suc as a metal wall or microwave oven. T is
location must be close to a power connection and your ADSL/Cable modem.

8 PC Network Adapter setup
Windows XP
•Enter [Start Menu]  select [Control panel]  select [Network].
•Select [Local Area Connection]) icon=>select [properties]

•Select [Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)] =>Click [Properties].
•Select t e [General] tab.
T e WLR-6001 supports a [DHCP] function, please select bot [Obtain an
IP address automatically] and [Obtain DNS server address automatically].

Windows Vista/Seven
•Enter [Start Menu]  select [Control panel]  select [View network status
and tasks] -> select [Manage network connections].
•Select [Local Area Connection]) icon=>select [properties]

•Select [Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)] =>Click [Properties].
•Select t e [General] tab.
T e WLR-6001 supports a [DHCP] function, please select bot [Obtain an IP
address automatically] and [Obtain DNS server address automatically].

9 Bring up the WLR-6001
Connect t e supplied power-adapter to t e power inlet port and connect it to
a wall outlet. Switc t e WLR-6001 on by flipping t e switc on t e back of
t e device. T e WLR-6001 automatically enters t e self-test p ase. During
self-test p ase, t e Power LED will be lit continuously to indicate t at t is
product is in normal operation.
10 Initial Setup WLR-6001
LOGIN procedure
1. OPEN your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer).
2. Type ttp://192.168.0.1 in t e address bar and press [Enter]

3. Type user name and password. T e default username is admin, t e
password can be found on t e back label on t e bottom of your router.
4. Click OK.
5. You will see t e ome page of t e WLR-6001.
T e System status section allows you to monitor t e current status of your
router, t e UP time, ardware information, serial number as well as firmware
version information is displayed ere.

LAN settings
T e LAN tab gives you t e opportunity to c ange t e IP settings of t e WLR-
6001.
Click <Apply> at t e bottom of t is screen to save any c anges.
IP address 192.168.0.1. It is t e router’s LAN IP address (Your LAN clients
default gateway IP address).
IP Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 Specify a Subnet Mask for your LAN segment.
802.1d Spanning Tree is Disabled by default. If t e 802.1d Spanning Tree
function is enabled, t is router will use t e spanning tree protocol to prevent
network loops.
DHCP Server Enabled by default. You can enable or disable t e DHCP server.
W en DHCP is disabled no ip-addresses are assigned to clients and you ave to
use static ip-addresses. W en DHCP server is enabled your computers will be
assigned an ip-address automatically until t e lease time expires.
Lease Time Forever. In t e Lease Time setting you can specify t e time period
t at t e DHCP lends an IP address to your LAN clients. T e DHCP will c ange
your LAN client’s IP address w en t is time t res old period is reac ed.

IP Address P l You can select a particular IP address range for your DHCP
server to issue IP addresses to your LAN Clients.
N te: default IP range is 192.168.0.100 ~ 192.168.0.200. If y u want
y ur PC(s) t have a static/fixed IP address, then y u’ll have t ch se
an IP address utside this IP address P l
D main Name You can specify a Domain Name for your LAN. Or just keep t e
default (sitecomwlr6001).
