5. Maintenance
To keep your board in top condion make sure you respect the following rules.
5.1 Cleaning
To clean the Skatey balance surfer only use a damp cloth and do not use corrosive cleaning soluons. Always prevent
water, moisture or dirt from entering the electronic components, the On buon, the charging port, under the rubber
mats. This can lead to irreparable damage. Check before and aer using the Skatey for dirt between the moving parts, if
present remove immediately.
5.2 Battery
When the Skatey is not being used for a long me it’s very important that the baery is charged at least ones a month.
Otherwise the baery loses its capacity.
5.3 Check your board before driving
The Skatey has been manufactured in such a way that it requires virtually no maintenance. However, you must sll make
sure that all screws on the wheels and axles are well-secured. If screws are loose, they must be ghtened.
5.4 Wear and tear
Because the wheels are subject to wear and tear, they need to be replaced aer some me. You can nd these parts
under spare parts on www.skatey.com

INSTRUCTIONS

6. Storage
Sck to the following rules to keep your board in top condion.
• Ensure that your board is fully charged. When storing it for longer than three months, charge the baery every
month in order to keep the baery in good condion.
• Store your Skatey indoors in a dry room at a moderate temperature.
• Ensure that no dust gets into your board by keeping it in the original box or bag.
7. Performance
There are some factors that could reduce the range of 15-20 km. These are the following factors.
Weight
The rider’s weight will aect the distance. If you are a light rider, your board use less energy to transport you thus in-
creasing the range and the baery will drain slower.
Surface
Riding on a at smooth surface will ensure that you can cover longer distances. Traveling uphill or on a rough or uneven
surface means that your Skatey needs to work harder in order to transport you. The baery will drain faster.
Speed and riding style
You will get further when you drive calmly and evenly. Frequent braking and accelerang takes much strength from you
baery and shortens the distance you can drive.

INSTRUCTIONS
13
Temperature
The Skatey performs best between 15 and 35 degrees Celsius.
Charging the baery
Make sure that you do not leave the Skatey on charge for too long; never longer than 6 hours. This may reduce the bat-
tery’s capacity. The consequence of this will among other things be that you are no longer able to cover long distances
and that you will only be able to enjoy your Skatey over shorter distances.
