Explanation of signal
words for safety
Safety
Read and carefully observe these installation
instructions before installing/operating/
troubleshooting the assembly. The assembly
must be installed, maintained and repaired
exclusively by persons familiar with the
instructions.
Install the assembly only after safety
instructions and this guide have been read
and are completely understood.
Adequate personal protection must be
used to prevent splashing of material on the
skin or in the eyes.
Always disconnect power source (electri-
city, air or hydraulic) from the pump when it
is not being used.
This equipment generates very high
grease pressure. Extreme caution should be
used when operating this equipment as
material leaks from loose or ruptured com-
ponents can inject fluid through the skin and
into the body. If any fluid appears to
penetrate the skin, seek attention from a
doctor immediately.
Do not treat injury as a simple cut. Tell
attending doctor exactly what type of fluid
was injected.
Any other use not in accordance with
instructions will result in loss of claim for
warranty or liability.
• Do not misuse, over-pressurize, modify
parts, use incompatible chemicals, fluids,
or use worn and/or damaged parts.
• Do not exceed the stated maximum wor-
king pressure of the pump or of the lowest
rated component in your system.
• Always read and follow the fluid manu-
facturer’s recommendations regarding
fluid compatibility, and the use of protec-
tive clothing and equipment.
• Failure to comply may result in personal
injury and/or damage to equipment.
NOTE
Emphasizes useful hints and
recommendations as well as
information to prevent property damage
and ensure efficient trouble-free
operation.
CAUTION
Indicates a dangerous situation that can
lead to light personal injury if
precautionary measures are ignored.
WARNING
Indicates a dangerous situation that
could lead to death or serious injury if
precautionary measures are ignored.
DANGER
Indicates a dangerous situation that will
lead to death or serious injury if
precautionary measures are ignored.
WARNING
Assembly must only be installed, main-
tained, and repaired by persons familiar
with these operating instructions.
Do not attempt to install, use, or trou-
bleshoot prior to fully understanding all
safety and operational instructions.
WARNING
If any fluid appears to penetrate skin, get
emergency medical attention immedi-
ately and provide attending physician
with exact type of fluid injected.
Do not treat injury as a simple cut.
WARNING
To avoid personal injury and property
damage:
• Wear adequate personal protection
for each use or repair.
• Do not allow grease to contact skin or
eyes.
• Always disconnect power source
(electricity, air or hydraulic) from
pump when not in use.
• Depressurize all air lines connected to
assembly before installation, servic-
ing, or conversion.
• Operate within manufacturer speci-
fied pressures, temperatures, and
other listed conditions.
• Only service assembly as directed in
this manual.
• Do not misuse, over-pressurize,
modify parts, use incompatible
chemicals or fluids, or use worn and/
or damaged parts.
• Do not exceed stated maximum
working pressure of pump or of
lowest rated component of system.
• Always read and follow fluid
manufacturer’s recommendations
regarding fluid compatibility, and use
of protective clothing and equipment.

Owner/operator
responsibility
It is the responsibility of the owner/operator
to properly use and maintain equipment.
The instructions and warnings contained
in this manual shall be read and understood
by owner/operator prior to operating
equipment.
It is the owner/operator responsibility to
maintain legibility of all warning and instruc-
tion labels.
The owner/operator shall retain this man-
ual for future reference to important warn-
ings, operating and maintenance
instructions.
Overview
This manual details procedure that must be
followed while installing electric vent valve
assembly on a 120 lb. (54 kg) or 400 lb.
(181 kg) drum with a FlowMasterII rotary
driven AC electric pump.
Review parts list and nomenclature before
starting disassembly or operation.
Description
Electric vent valve assembly is intended for
use with a drum-mounted FlowMasterII
electric pump in a Centro-Matic lube system.
The 2-way normally open solenoid vent
valve must be wired in parallel with motor on
electric FlowMasterII pump.
See wiring diagram in appropriate pump
owner’s manual.
Inspection
In event of equipment over-pressurization,
contact factory authorized warranty and
service center nearest you for equipment
inspection, as specialized equipment and
knowledge is required for equipment repair.
Annual inspection by factory-authorized
warranty and service center nearest you is
recommended.
Damaged equipment
Do not use any equipment that appears to
be damaged, badly worn, or operates abnor-
mally. Remove equipment from service and
contact factory-authorized warranty and
service center nearest you for repairs.
Authorized list of warranty and service
centers available upon request.
NOTE
Local safety regulations regarding
installation, use, and maintenance must
be followed.
NOTE
Failure to comply with any danger,
warning, caution, or notice - as well as
any use not in accordance with instruc-
tions - will result in loss of claim for
warranty or liability for equipment.
