DA 74BC Winch Motor
1 Product Description
DA 74BC is a 24V winch motor with a wall fitting and an arm which is used to adjust wall inlets, ceiling inlets
or emergency opening of windows and doors in houses.
DA 74BC can be mounted for either ON/OFF or stepless regulation and is controlled by a house computer. The
winch motor can be operated manually by disconnecting power, activating the push button for the manual
release and turning the wall fitting arm.
Before activating the manual release, you must retain the wall fitting arm.
DA 74BC can be set to ON/OFF, stepless, ON/OFF reverse or stepless reverse using the jumper on the PCB.
DA 74BC is controlled by 24V DC, ensuring safe emergency opening in case of a power failure or other
failure.
DA 74BC is easy to clean thanks to its compact design.

3.1.3 Checking Adjustment
Mount the mechanical connection between the winch motor and the inlet, window, door, and the like to be
adjusted.
Check that:
1) The inlet, window, door, and the like can open/close completely.
If not, readjust the mechanical connection and check again.
3.1.4 Installation of adapter for swivel shutter
Using the DA 74 adapter for swivel shutter, the DA 74BC winch motor can be mounted on an axle diameter
from 15–20 mm. The DA 74 adapter is ordered separately.
Figure 6: DA 74 adapter for swivel
shutter
Mount the axle in the shackle and tighten the two nuts.
Torque should be between 15–20 Nm.
Before the axle and winch motor are connected, both must be in the same position (open/open or
closed/closed).

4 Installation Guide
4.1 Electrical Connection
Qualified personnel in accordance with the applicable national and international standard EN
60204-1 and any other EU standards that are applicable in Europe must perform installation,
service and fault finding of al electrical equipment.
The installation of a supply isolator is required for each motor and power supply, so
maintenance of electrical equipment can be carried out in a dead environment. Supply isolator is
not supplied by SKOV A/S.
4.1.1 Cable Routing
All cables must be mounted in M25 glands, protection class minimum IP65. Cables are to be secured in the
usual way outside the cabinet. Close holes which are not used with IP65 safety plugs.

4.1.4 Testing the Electrical Installation
1) See jumper setting, section 4.3.
2) Activate the house computer to transmit a closing signal.
•Check closed state and adjust the mechanical connection, if necessary.
3) Activate the house computer to transmit an opening signal.
•Check closed state and adjust the mechanical connection, if necessary.
4.1.5 Calibrating the End Stop
It is not necessary to calibrate using the CALIBRATE button on the PCB, unless the PCB, solenoid or gear has
been replaced.
Calibration must be carried out before connecting the mechanical connection, otherwise the mechanical
connection must be fine adjusted again.

5 Maintenance Guide
DA 74BC does not require any special maintenance, however, we recommend that the system be serviced once
a year.
5.1 Cleaning
Clean the product with water and a brush without using:
high-pressure cleaner
solvents
corrosive/caustic agents
Figure 13: Cleaning
5.1.1 Annual Inspection
1) Open the cabinet cover to check the inside functions; check also that no fluid can penetrate into the
cabinet as this may damage gears and other components. Pay attention to the shaft sealing and the
sealing of cable lead-throughs.
2) Activate the manual release and check that the swivel shutter moves unobstructedly in its entire
working range.
5.2 Dismantling for Recycling/Disposal
SKOV A/S' products which are suited for recycling are marked with a pictogram showing
a refuse bin that is crossed over. See picture.
Customers can dispose of SKOV A/S products at local collecting points/recycling stations according to local
directions. The recycling station will then send the products to an approved plant for recycling and reuse.
5.2.1 LED Indication
OK = slow flashing (1 flash/sec.)
Calibration = constantly on
Fault = fast flashing (10 flashes/sec.)

5.3 Troubleshooting/Remedy
Even though the DA 74BC has been designed to work without supervision, malfunctioning may occur.
Check the following to remedy any faults.
Symptom
Cause
Solution
The winch motor does not
run, the LED does not
flash at all.
No power supply or is the power supply
below 12V?
Check supply voltage.
Check fuses.
Check assembly according to the
connection and circuit diagram.
Has the motor plug been mounted?
Mount the plug.
Has calibration been forgotten?
Press the CALIBRATE button; the
LED must be constantly on while the
winch motor opens and closes.
The LED (A) flashes
quickly 10 times/second.
The motor stutters.
Remove any object which may have
been trapped.
Has the solenoid been mounted?
Mount the solenoid.
Inlet, window or door not
completely open/closed.
Adjust the mechanical connection.
No feedback signal from
the house computer.
When using ON/OFF 278M and 378M,
connect Q1 to C17/B17 on the main
module.
