Electric Stair Climber
User Manual

Introduction
To ensure effective use of the equipment and maximise the life and
performance of the stair climber, users should read the contents of this
booklet before use.
Before First Use
Lay the unit on its back and fold down the load platform ensuring that
the red crossbar is locked into place before using, gures 1 to 2.
Warning: Ensure the crossbar is locked before using
Stand the unit upright and remove the battery for charging.

Battery Removal Process
Open the rear short handles, gure 3. These can be used for steering
the unit on at surfaces in conned spaces.
To open out the driving tracks, rst release the red safety catch on the
right hand side of the frame, gure 4 & 5.
Pull out the track assembly using the top black bar, gure 6
Remove the battery by lifting upwards from the locating bracket, gure 7

Before rst use charge the battery for a minimum of 12 hours using the
battery charger supplied with the equipment. Ensure the switch on the
battery is in the “on” position or the battery will not charge.

Warning: Only use the battery charger supplied.
After charging replace the battery in the bracket on the stair climber.
Return the tracks to the upright position by holding the short handles
and pushing the lower red locking bar down with your foot, gures 8 to 9
Warning: Ensure the red safety catch is engaged to
lock the tracks in place.

Warning: Do not move the stair climber unloaded
with the tracks in the operating position as it may
overbalance.

Operation and Controls
Turn on the power with the switch located to the rear on the right-hand
side of the battery, gure 10.
The control panel of the stair climber will now display the battery
capacity. A fully charged battery should provide 1½ hours of operation
(equivalent to moving 30 times up and down the stairs of a 5 storey
building).
Control Unit Functions
The control unit is located on the top of the main handle, the layout of
the control unit is shown below, gure 11

Familiarise yourself with the operation of the controls.
Switch on the power with the red button on the right of the control panel.
The silver buttons control the up and down motion of the tracks. The
speed of the tracks can be controlled by holding down the silver button
and operating the + or – control. There are three speeds for the tracks.
We recommend using the slow speed until you are
familiar with the operation of the stair climber.
Operating Handle
The main operating handle can be adjusted to 4 height levels by pulling
the red release bar, gures 12 & 13. The handle should be adjusted to
a height suitable for the load being carried.

Loading the Unit
Lock the rear wheels of the stair climber, gure 14. Place the load on
the platform securing with the webbing strap, gure 15.
Warning: The load being carried should not be
larger than the platform of the unit, ensure the load
is secure and stable.
Stair Climbing Function
Ascending
Wheel the stair climber to the stairs,
deploy the tracks, pull onto the stair, lean
the unit backwards and operate the up
button, steer using the main handle
applying pressure to ensure steady
climbing. At the top of the stair wheel the
unit away using the short rear handles

Descending
Wheel the stair climber to the stairs using the rear short handles, deploy
the tracks as previously described, push onto the stair, lean the unit
backwards and operate the down button.
The unit can be steered using the main handle, ensure the stair lift
remains in the middle of the stairs. At the bottom of the stair lean the
unit forwards and wheel away using the rear short handles.
Stopping on the Stair
If you need to stop on the stair simply remove your nger from the silver
button, the unit will stop safely on the stair. Operate the button again to
restart the unit.
Unloading the Unit
Lock the rear wheels, fold away the tracks, remove the webbing strap
and unload the unit.
Warning: Always fold away the tracks before
unloading the unit.
Battery charging
When the battery capacity indicator shows less than 5% remove the
battery and recharge using the charger supplied.
Maintenance and storage
Inspect the unit before each use, if any items are damaged or loose
report to your manager and do not use the unit.
Keep the unit clean, if the platform becomes contaminated with dirt or
grease clean to ensure the security of the load.
Check the webbing straps frequently and replace any worn or damaged
parts before the next use.
If the tracks become slack they can be adjusted using the Allen key
supplied with the unit.
We recommend a three monthly inspection of the unit by a competent
person.

If the unit becomes wet it should be dried before storage.
The unit should be stored in a dry and non corrosive environment; the
platform can be folded to store in a smaller space.
