Lebensgefahr durch hohe Spannungen im Wechselrichter
Der PV-Generator erzeugt bei Sonnenlicht gefährliche Gleichspannung, die an den DC-Leitern und
spannungsführenden Bauteilen des Wechselrichters anliegt. Das Berühren der DC-Leiter oder der
spannungsführenden Bauteile kann lebensgefährliche Stromschläge verursachen.
• Alle Arbeiten am Wechselrichter dürfen ausschließlich von Fachkräften ausgeführt werden.
• Vor allen Arbeiten am Wechselrichter den Wechselrichter immer spannungsfrei schalten
(siehe Anleitung des Wechselrichters).
• Keine spannungsführenden Bauteile des Wechselrichters berühren.
Beschädigung des Wechselrichters durch elektrostatische Entladung
Bauteile im Inneren des Wechselrichters können durch elektrostatische Entladung irreparabel
beschädigt werden.
• Erden Sie sich, bevor Sie ein Bauteil berühren.

3 Firmware-Version prüfen
Das neue Display darf ausschließlich in folgende Wechselrichter eingebaut werden und ist ab der
genannten Firmware-Version des Wechselrichters funktionsfähig.
• Prüfen, mit welcher Firmware-Version der Wechselrichter ausgestattet ist. Dabei die
Firmware-Version mit einem Kommunikationsprodukt aufrufen. Dadurch wird Ihnen die
vollständige Firmware-Version angezeigt.
Wenn die Firmware-Version des Wechselrichters niedriger als in der Tabelle angegeben ist, den
Wechselrichter mit der genannten oder einer höheren Firmware-Version ausstatten. Dazu
Firmware-Update mit SD-Karte oder Firmware-Update mit einem Kommunikationsprodukt
durchführen (ausführliche Informationen zum Firmware-Update siehe Technische Beschreibung
„Firmware-Update mit SD-Karte“ und ausführliche Informationen zum Ändern von Parametern
siehe Anleitung des Kommunikationsprodukts unter www.SMA-Solar.com).

Defektes Display ausbauen
2. Die Stecker aller Flachbandkabel entriegeln und
abziehen.
3. Bei SB TL-20: Wenn Multifunktionsrelais auf der
Display-Baugruppe vorhanden und belegt, die
Klemmleiste mit dem Anschlusskabel aus dem
Steckplatz herausziehen.
4. Schraube der Display-Baugruppe lösen.
5. Display-Baugruppe mit defektem Display herausnehmen:
• Rechte Halterung nach außen drücken, bis die
Halterung sich löst.
• Die Display-Baugruppe nach vorn aus der
rechten Halterung herausnehmen.
• Die Display-Baugruppe aus der linken
Halterung herausnehmen.

6. Die 4 Rastnasen der Display-Halterung nach außen
drücken und das Display abnehmen. Dabei das
Display leicht anheben.
7. Die oberen beiden Rastnasen kürzen. Dazu die
Rastnase bis zur Schräge an der abgebildeten
Schnittkante mit einem Seitenschneider
abschneiden.

Beschädigung des neuen Displays durch die Führungsnasen im unteren
Gehäusedeckel
Beim SB TL-20 befinden sich auf der Rückseite des unteren Gehäusedeckels mehrere
Führungsnasen, von denen die beiden oberen abgeschnitten werden müssen. Dadurch
verhindern Sie, dass sich die beiden oberen Führungsnasen beim Befestigen des unteren
Gehäusedeckels in das neue Display drücken und das Display beschädigen.
• Bei SB TL-20: Die beiden oberen
Führungsnasen mit einem Seitenschneider
abschneiden. Dabei mindestens so viel
abschneiden, dass die Führungsnasen nicht
über die Scheibe hinausragen.

Neues Display einbauen
1. Neues Display auf die Halterung setzen. Dabei
darauf achten, dass das Display in die unteren
Rastnasen einrastet und auf den oberen Rastnasen
aufliegt.
2. Display-Baugruppe mit dem neuen Display einbauen:
• Die Display-Baugruppe in die linke Halterung
einführen.
• Rechte Halterung nach außen drücken und
Display-Baugruppe in recht Halterung
einführen.
• Die Display-Baugruppe in die beiden
Halterungen drücken, bis sie einrastet.
3. Display-Baugruppe herunterklappen.
4. Schraube der Display-Baugruppe festdrehen.
5. Die Stecker jedes Flachbandkabels in die
entsprechende Buchse stecken. Dazu die
Verriegelungshaken der Buchse nach außen
stellen.
6. Sicherstellen, dass sich die Verriegelungshaken jeder Buchse geschlossen haben.

7. Bei SB TL-20: Wenn Multifunktionsrelais auf der
Display-Baugruppe vorhanden war, die
Klemmleiste wieder auf den Steckplatz stecken.
8. Wechselrichter wieder in Betrieb nehmen (siehe Anleitung des Wechselrichters).

Vorgehen:
2. Defektes Display abnehmen:
• Das mitgelieferte Werkzeug auf die 4
Rastnasen der Display-Halterung stecken.
Dabei das Werkzeug nicht komplett auf die
Rastnase stecken. Zwischen Werkzeug und
Rastnase muss etwas Luft bleiben, damit das
Display von der Rastnase gelöst werden kann.
• Display vorsichtig an der jeweiligen Ecke
zusammen mit dem Werkzeug leicht anheben
und Display von der Rastnase lösen.
3. Die oberen beiden Rastnasen an der abgebildeten
Schnittkante mit einem Seitenschneider
abschneiden.

1 Validity
This document describes how to replace the display for the following device types:
• SB 2000HF-30 / 2500HF-30 / 3000HF-30
• SB 3000TL-20 / 3600TL-20 / 4000TL-20 / 5000TL-20
• STP 8000TL-10 / 10000TL-10 / 12000TL-10 / 15000TL-10 / 17000TL-10
2 Safety Precautions
Danger to life due to high voltages in the inverter
When exposed to sunlight, the PV array generates dangerous DC voltage which is present in the
DC conductors and the live components of the inverter. Touching the DC conductors or the live
components can lead to lethal electric shocks.
• All work on the inverter must be carried out by qualified persons only.
• Prior to performing any work on the inverter, always disconnect the inverter from voltage
sources (see inverter manual).
• Do not touch any live components of the inverter.
Damage to the inverter due to electrostatic discharge
The internal components of the inverter can be irreparably damaged by electrostatic discharge.
• Ground yourself before touching any component.

3 Checking Firmware Version
The new display may only be installed on the following inverters and works with inverters with the
indicated (or later) firmware versions.
• Determine the firmware version installed on the inverter. Use a communication product to access
the firmware version; it will show you the complete firmware version.
If the firmware version on the inverter is lower than specified in the table, update the inverter's
firmware to the specified firmware version or a later one. Perform the firmware update with an
SD memory card or with a communication product (for detailed information about firmware
updates, see the technical description "Firmware Update with SD Memory Card"; for detailed
information about changing parameters, see the manual for the communication product at
www.SMA-Solar.com).

Procedure:
• Remove the defective display.
• Install the new display.

Removing the Defective Display
2. Release and remove all ribbon cable plugs.
3. For SB TL-20: If a multifunction relay is present and
in use on the display assembly, pull the connecting
terminal plate with the cable out of the receptacle.
4. Loosen the display assembly screw.
5. Remove the display assembly with the defective display:
• Press the right-hand retainer outwards until it
releases.
• Pull the display assembly forwards and out of
the right-hand retainer.
• Pull the display assembly out of the left-hand
retainer.

6. Press the four locking tabs on the display retainer
outwards and remove the display while lifting it
slightly.
7. Shorten the two upper locking tabs. Cut off the
slanted portion of the locking tab with diagonal
cutting pliers as illustrated.

Damage to new display by the keys in the lower enclosure lid
0,On the SB TL-20 there are several keys on the rear side of the lower enclosure lid; the two
upper keys must be cut off. By doing so, you prevent the two upper keys from pressing into and
damaging the new display when the lower enclosure lid is attached.
• SB TL-20: Use diagonal cutting pliers to cut off
the two upper keys. Cut off at least enough so
that the keys do not extend past the Plexiglas
pane.

Installing the New Display
1. Place the new display on the retainer. Ensure that
the display snaps into the lower locking tabs and
rests on the upper locking tabs.
2. Install the display assembly with the new display:
• Slide the display assembly into the left-hand
retainer.
• Press the right-hand retainer outwards and
insert the display assembly into the right-hand
retainer.
• Press the display assembly into both retainers
until it snaps into place.
3. Flip the display assembly down.
4. Tighten the display assembly screw.
5. For each ribbon cable, insert the plug into the
corresponding pin connector while pressing apart
the lock hooks on the pin connector.
6. Ensure that the lock hooks on each pin connector have been closed.

7. For SB TL-20: If a multifunction relay was present on
the display assembly, reattach the connecting
terminal plate to the slot.
8. Restart the inverter (see inverter manual).

Procedure:
2. Remove the defective display.
• Place the supplied tool on the four locking tabs
on the display retainer. Do not place the tool
completely over the locking tab. Leave a slight
gap between the tool and the locking tab so
the display can be detached from the locking
tab.
• Together with the tool, carefully lift the display
slightly at each corner and detach it from the
locking tab.
3. Use diagonal cutting pliers to cut the two upper
locking tabs as illustrated.

5. Recommission the inverter (see inverter manual).
