precautions should always be
followed, including the follow-

Care must be taken as burns can occur
from touching hot parts.
Do not operate SmartWasher with
damaged cord or if the equipment has been
dropped or damaged until it has been
examined by a qualified service person.
Do not let a cord hang over the edge of the
table, bench, or counter or come in contact
with hot manifolds or moving fan blades.
If an extension cord is necessary, a cord
with a current rating equal to or more than
that of the equipment should be used.
Cords rated for current lower than the
equipment may overheat. Care should be
taken to arrange the cord so that it will not
be tripped over or pulled. (Must be rated a
minimum of 15A/110V (5A/220V))
Unplug equipment from electrical outlet
when not in use for an extended period of
time. Never use the cord to pull the plug
from the outlet. Grasp plug and pull to
disconnect.
To reduce the risk of fire, do not operate
equipment in the vicinity of open
containers of flammable liquids (gasoline).
Adequate ventilation should be provided
when working on operating internal
combustion engines.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all
parts of body away from moving parts.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not
use on wet surfaces or expose to rain.
Use SmartWasher only as described in this
manual. Use only attachments and parts
recommended by ChemFree.
ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES.
Everyday eyeglasses only have impact
resistant lenses, they are not safety
glasses.
It is good practice to wear gloves whenever
using industrial cleaning fluids.

Il faut faire attention car on peut se brûler en
touchant des pièces chaudes.
Ne le faites pas fonctionner avec son cordon
secteur endommagé ou si l'équipement est
tombé ou a été abîmé, jusqu'à ce qu'il ait été
examiné par du personnel de service
qualifié.
Ne laissez pas le cordon pendre sur le
rebord d'une table ou d'un plan de travail, ni
entrer en contact avec des collecteurs
chauds ou des pales de ventilateur en
marche.
Si une extension du raccordement secteur
est nécessaire, il faut utiliser une rallonge
supportant le même courant ou plus que
celui tiré par l'équipement, sinon il y aurait
surchauffe de cette rallonge. Il faut prendre
des précautions pour que le cordon ne fasse
pas trébucher et ne soit pas tiré. La capacité
minimum doit être de 15 A sous 120 V (ou 5
A en 220 V).
Débranchez l'équipement de la prise
secteur quand il n'est pas en utilisation
pendant une période longue. Ne tirez jamais
sur le cordon pour débrancher sa prise de la
fiche secteur. Il faut saisir directement la
fiche pour la retirer.
Pour réduire le risque de départ d'incendie,
ne faites pas fonctionner l'équipement à
proximité de bidons de liquides inflam-
mables ouverts (comme de l'essence).
Une ventilation adéquate doit être fournie en
travaillant avec des moteurs à combustion
en fonctionnement.
Gardez la chevelure, les vêtements lâches,
les doigts et toutes les parties du corps, à
l'écart de toutes les pièces mobiles.
Pour réduire le risque de commotion
électrique, n'utilisez pas l'équipement sur
des surfaces mouillées ou en l'exposant à la
pluie.
N'utilisez le SmartWasher que de la manière
décrite dans ce manuel. N'utilisez que des
accessoires et des pièces que ChemFree
recommande.

que no se pueda tropezar con él o tirar de
él. (La especificación mínima debe ser 15

Desenchufe el equipo del tomacorriente
eléctrico cuando no lo use por un período
de tiempo prolongado. Nunca use el cordón
para extraer el enchufe del tomacorriente.
Sujete el enchufe y tire de él para
desconectarlo.
Para reducir el riesgo de incendio, no haga
funcionar el equipo en las cercanías de
recipientes abiertos de líquidos inflamables
(gasolina).
Al trabajar en motores de combustión
interna en funcionamiento, debe proporcio-
narse una ventilación adecuada.
Mantenga su cabello, ropas sueltas, dedos
y el resto de su cuerpo lejos de las piezas
móviles.
Para reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico,
no use el equipo sobre superficies mojadas
ni lo exponga a la lluvia.
Use el SmartWasher únicamente de la
manera descrita en este manual. Use única-
mente accesorios y piezas recomendadas
por ChemFree.
USE SIEMPRE GAFAS DE SEGURIDAD.
Las gafas de uso diario sólo tienen lentes
resistentes al impacto, y no son gafas de
seguridad.

Ozzy®
The SmartWasher®is designed to safely and
effectively remove oil and grease from
automotive and industrial parts. It replaces
hazardous solvent parts washers with
aqueous-based degreasing solutions called
OzzyJuice®and microbe impregnated
particulate traps called OzzyMats™. The
microbes impregnated into the OzzyMat come
to life in the OzzyJuice and break down, or
“eat”, the grease, oil and other contaminants in
the solution leaving by-products of harmless
carbon dioxide and water - leaving nothing
hazardous to haul away. OzzyJuice is an
award winning, pH neutral, non-caustic,
non-flammable and biodegradable degreasing

PARTS WASHER OPERATION
IMPORTANT MAINTENANCE NOTICE
The OzzyMat should be changed at least
every 30 days or the Ozzy microbes will
lose their effectiveness!
2. Place the false bottom in position in the sink.
Your SmartWasher is shipped fully assembled. (The OzzyMat™,
support grid and false bottom of the sink are packed inside the sink).
Visually inspect for damage (minor scratches and scuffs are normal
due to the molding process).
The SmartWasher®will weigh approximately 300 pounds (136 Kg)
when it is filled with fluid. It should be installed close enough to a
normal 115VAC (220VAC) Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)
electrical outlet so that it can be plugged in. The SmartWasher
should be the only item plugged into this circuit. Do not plug in
before adding fluid.
Remove the false bottom and check to make sure the mat support grid
is in the bottom of the sink. Remove and discard packing material.
1. Remove the OzzyMat from its package, unfold it and lay it on
the mat support grid located in the lowest level in the sink.
Make sure to lay the OzzyMat white side up.
3. Form the flexible nozzle to its desired shape and be sure
that the parts brush is inside the sink.
4. At start up, carefully add 25 gallons (five 5-gallon boxes) of
OzzyJuice®to the SmartWasher by slowly pouring the
solution directly into the sink.
5. Plug the unit in to a 115V (220VAC) GFCI electrical outlet.
6. The SmartWasher will take approximately four hours to heat
up to its selected optimal temperature of 108°F (+-2°)
(42°C)(+-1°) OR 115° F(+-2°) (46°C)(+-1°). This
temperature will be maintained as long as the SmartWasher
is plugged in and full of OzzyJuice. (If the low fluid light is on,
the heater automatically shuts off.)
Adjust the valve at the base of the faucet to control the flow
of the fluid through the faucet. The valve at the base of the
brush hose controls the flow of fluid through the brush. Both
outlets can be operated independently or together.

1. The pump switch is attached to a ten or thirty minute timer.
Turning the switch ON (upward position) will start fluid flowing
for ten or thirty minutes. To restart the flow, turn the switch OFF
then ON again and the flow will restart for another ten or thirty
minutes.
REPLACING THE OZZYMAT
(Should be done every 4 weeks!)
Make sure the pump is not
running.
1.
Lift out the false bottom of the
sink and lean to one side.
2.
Remove the soiled OzzyMat.
3.
Remove a new OzzyMat from its
poly bag, unfold it and lay it on
top of the mat support grid with
the white side up.
4.
Wring excess fluid on to new
OzzyMat. It is important to wring
used OzzyMat prior to disposal.
5.
Place used OzzyMat into the poly
bag the new mat came in.
6.
Replace false bottom in sink.
7.
Discard OzzyMat in accordance
with local regulations.
8.
You may be able to dispose of your used OzzyMat as solid waste or with your other absorbent mats.

OZZYMAT – FL-3 / FL-4
The OzzyMat traps sludge and dirt as
small as 50 microns. It works
effectively even when it appears dirty.
At some point, however, it will become
saturated and unable to pass fluid
freely and should be changed. The
SmartWasher has bypass openings
located under the false bottom of the
sink to accommodate overflow when
the OzzyMat is clogged. The FL-4
Multilayer OzzyMat allows you the
benefit of being able to peel layers
between mat changes.
FL-4 MAINTENANCE
Make sure the pump is not
running.
1.
Lift out the false bottom of the
sink and lean to one side.
2.
3. Remove the top (peelable) layer
of the OzzyMat, wring excess
fluid back onto OzzyMat in sink
and dispose of according to local
regulations.

proper position.

TEMPERATURE SETTINGS
The SmartWasher®uses a specially formulated fluid which provides a
combination of excellent cleaning characteristics, safety and nutrition
for the Ozzy®microbes. OzzyJuice®is provided in ready-to-use
containers.
OzzyJuice®Degreasing Solution
To help monitor and maintain the proper fluid level,
the SmartWasher is equipped with a low fluid level
indicator. When the “Add Fluid” light comes on,
add a full 5 gallon box of OzzyJuice immediately.
When a container of OzzyJuice is added the light
will go out. When the “Add Fluid” light comes on
the heater will turn off until the necessary amount
of fluid is added.
WATER, SOLVENT, MINERAL SPIRITS,
GASOLINE OR KEROSENE TO YOUR
SMARTWASHER.
DO NOT ADD
Your SmartWasher should be
plugged in 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week to maintain optimal tempera-
ture.
The thermostat is factory-set to
maintain fluid temperature at 108° F
or 115° F (+-2°) (42°C)(+-1°). This
temperature provides the optimum
condition for effective cleaning and
activity of Ozzy microbes.
The heater will not operate when
the fluid level becomes critically
low. Lift the sink and check your
fluid level. Your SmartWasher
should have approximately 9.75”
(25 cm) of fluid in it. If the fluid level
is lower than that, add OzzyJuice.
If, after a reasonable warm-up
period, the fluid temperature seems
too hot or too cold, please refer to
the “Troubleshooting” section on
page 7 and 8.

Suggested Annual Maintenance:
Simply pump out the fluid into containers
until the machine is drained.

Unplug the SmartWasher.
2.
Remove the sink from the base. Inspect
and remove any sludge that might have
accumulated on the bottom of the unit.
3.
Clean the base with water to remove any
debris.
4.
Visually check the condition of the hoses,
connectors, etc. If everything appears to
be in good working condition, reassemble
sink, change OzzyMat, and return the
OzzyJuice to the SmartWasher.
5.
Simply perform the annual maintenance
described above and then add
OzzyBooster for an extra supply of
microbes to bring your fluid back into
conformity. If your fluid had developed an
odor, you may also add Odor Neutralizer.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Once activated, Ozzy and his friends are constantly eating.
Assuming the system is operating optimally (OzzyJuice
temperature between 108°F - 115°F and the OzzyMat
routinely changed a minimum of once every 30 days) the
rate at which the hydrocarbons can remediate can
approach 80% every seven days. Analyses performed on
samples of used OzzyJuice from operating SmartWashers
consistently show oil and grease levels in the 1,400 parts
per million range. BY COMPARISON, used,
non-bioremediating, aqueous cleaners can average over
20,000 parts per million of oil and grease.
How quickly can Ozzy break down oil and grease?
The SmartWasher comes equipped with a low fluid
indicator light which illuminates when you are low on fluid.
When this light is on you simply add (1) 5 gallon box of
OzzyJuice to bring the fluid level up to normal. On average,
with normal use, you will add (1) 5 gallon container of
OzzyJuice approximately every six to eight weeks.
How often do I add OzzyJuice to the
SmartWasher?
The OzzyMat must be disposed of in accordance with your
Federal, State and local regulations. In many areas the
OzzyMat can be disposed of in a non-leaching, sealed
manner, and disposed of as solid waste in accordance with
the Federal, State and local regulations. More OzzyMat
disposal information is located in the Science section of the
ChemFree website, www.chemfree.com.
How do I dispose of the OzzyMat?
If you are changing your OzzyMat a minimum of once a
month, under normal use and with proper maintenance,
you should never have to change or haul away used
OzzyJuice. This is one of the biggest advantages of the
SmartWasher system. Ozzy(s) microbes clean
contaminants from the fluid through the process of
bioremediation. This leaves you with clean OzzyJuice to
work with day after day.
How often do I change the fluid (OzzyJuice)?
YES. Any biocides designed to kill microbes, such as
bleach and Lysol™, will kill Ozzy; chemicals that kill living
things like some strong pesticides and rat poison may be
harmful to Ozzy.
Does anything kill Ozzy?
Bioremediation is the use of biological agents such as
microbes or plants to break down or neutralize “hazardous
substances” or “contaminants” thereby removing
dangerous chemicals in the environment. The process of
bioremediation is listed as one of the Environmental
Protection Agency’s (EPA) innovative technologies.
What is BIOREMEDIATION?
BIOREMEDIATION is the use of natural biological agents
such as microbes to break down or neutralize “hazardous
substances” or “contaminants”. FOR EXAMPLE: In the
SmartWasher Ozzy(s), natural biological agents or
microbes, break down the carbon-based contaminants
(grease and oil) and turn them into harmless carbon dioxide
and water. BIODEGRADABLE means that a substance or
mixture is subject to or could be broken down by biological
agents into smaller compounds.
How is “Bioremediating” different from
“Biodegradable”?
Ozzy is the name we selected for the blend of
nonpathogenic (harmless to humans) microbes in the
SmartWasher system. Our microbes, Ozzy and his friends,
eat potentially harmful hydrocarbon wastes in the
SmartWasher and transform these wastes into very small
quantities of carbon dioxide and water. Similar types of
microbes have been used for many years in various
bioremediation applications, such as oil spills, including the
clean up after the Exxon Valdez oil spill in March of 1989.
Who and what is Ozzy®?
Grease, oil and other contaminants are bioremediated in
the SmartWasher - transformed into harmless,
non-hazardous by-products such as carbon dioxide and
water. Particulate matter, such as sand, grit, dirt and paint
chips are trapped in the OzzyMat to be disposed of
properly.
What happens to the grease, oil and other
contaminants in the SmartWasher?
NO. Adding water will dilute the OzzyJuice, severely
impacting its performance.
Can I simply add water to the SmartWasher
to adjust the fluid level?
As with all parts cleaners, excessive greases, oils and fluids
should be disposed of prior to washing parts. The
SmartWasher can handle large, tough, dirty jobs, but was
not designed to be - nor should be treated as - a waste oil
dump.
How much oil can I put into the SmartWasher
at a time?

How well does OzzyJuice clean?
OzzyJuice is extraordinarily powerful and cleans extremely
well. OzzyJuice is a surfactant that breaks down the
surface tension between the grease and the part rather than
dissolving it; the grease actually lifts off the parts leaving
behind clean surfaces. Note that while OzzyJuice cleans
differently than dangerous solvents or mineral spirits, it
cleans just as well.
Will OzzyJuice clean carburetors, transmis-
sions, aluminum, brakes and anything else
in my shop?
YES. Not only is OzzyJuice effective on these parts, it will
not damage non-metal components that may be attached
to the parts being cleaned such as rubber or plastic fittings.
As with all parts cleaners, some items are going to become
cleaner at different rates than others due to the degree and
type of grime encountered.
Can I soak parts in the OzzyJuice or the
SmartWasher?
NO. Soaking parts in the SmartWasher can cause oxida-
tion (rusting) in some metals, particularly soft metals such
as aluminum. After you have completed washing your
part(s) in the SmartWasher, and if they are not going to be
reused right away, ChemFree recommends re-lubricating
metal parts or spraying with some type of metal protection
to prevent oxidation from the environment.
What color should the OzzyJuice be?
As the OzzyJuice is used to wash grease and oil from parts
the color of the fluid will become dark. THIS IS NORMAL:
while the OzzyJuice appears to be “dirty”, it has simply
been dyed by the artificial colorings used in greases and
oils.
What do I do if the OzzyMat clogs up quickly
with grease?
If you are using the FL-3 Single Layer OzzyMat then you
may want to switch to the FL-4 Multi-Layer OzzyMat. The
FL-4 OzzyMat has 4 layers intended to be peeled away
weekly eliminating unnecessary clogging. If you are using
the FL-4 OzzyMat then you need to make sure you are
peeling away the individual layers weekly, one layer every
week for 4 weeks, and changing the entire mat on the 4th
week OR every month.
How often do I change the OzzyMat?
At least once a month. This simple act accomplishes three
things: First, it keeps trapped contaminants from reaching
inappropriate levels. Secondly, Ozzy microbes are
introduced into the SmartWasher system through the
OzzyMat. Every time you change the OzzyMat you
introduce fresh Ozzy(s) to the existing microbe colony
which keeps the system working at an optimum level.
Finally, changing the OzzyMat keeps sludge from building
up in the base of the unit. If the OzzyMat is not changed
regularly and allowed to become clogged, large
contaminants can flow into the reservoir via the overflow
holes in the sink, potentially causing sludge to build up.

Why doesn’t OzzyJuice damage my hands
like solvents?
OzzyJuice is a pH-neutral, non-caustic, water-based formula
that will not dry, crack or irritate the skin. Solvents are caustic
and pull fat cells from the skin, possibly causing extreme
drying, redness, blisters, and other dermatological problems.
Can I use OzzyJuice in other parts washers?
We do not recommend that OzzyJuice be used in other parts
washers. The OzzyJuice and the SmartWasher were made
to work together with variables such as specific tempera-
tures, compensation for foam, and so on. Also remember,
the Ozzy(s) microbes are in the OzzyMat and if the
OzzyJuice is used in another machine it will not have the
Ozzy(s) microbes to clean the fluid.
Can I use other fluids in my SmartWasher?
The SmartWasher parts washing system has been
painstakingly developed to work effectively as a whole;
SmartWasher, OzzyJuice and OzzyMat. Other solutions
may damage the machine or kill Ozzy, thereby eliminating
the advantages of the SmartWasher. The use of other
solutions in the SmartWasher will void the warranty.
Why is the SmartWasher heated?
Two reasons: First, it keeps Ozzy eating at an optimal level
to clean the solution as quickly as possible. Secondly, warm
solution simply cleans better than cold solution. An added
benefit to warm solution: it makes it more enjoyable to work
with, especially in winter.
Can the SmartWasher overheat if the
OzzyJuice gets low?
NO. The heater is automatically de-activated when the
“Add Fluid” indicator light is illuminated. While the pump will
continue to operate, the heater will not be reactivated until
(1) entire 5 gallon box of OzzyJuice is added to the system
and the “Add Fluid” indicator light is off.
Is there a warranty for the SmartWasher?
The SmartWasher is warranted against defects for one year.

Issue - OVERHEATED FLUID
If the fluid becomes extremely hot and
exceeds 120°F (49°C) unplug the
SmartWasher and replace the probe.
Issue - FLUID DISCOLORATION
OzzyJuice may become dark in color due
to dyes in oils or greases removed from
dirty parts. This will not affect its cleaning
power. If the fluid should develop a strong
odor, it may be contaminated and you
should call ChemFree Technical Support
for assistance in diagnosing the problem.

Issue - FLUID SPILLAGE ONTO
FLOOR
OzzyJuice will cause the floor to become
slippery. Use caution when walking in or
near spilled fluid. To clean up an accidental
spill of new, unused fluid simply soak up
the solution with an absorbent material, (or
wash spillage down the nearest sanitary
sewer). If the spilled OzzyJuice has been
used, you must dispose of the spillage in
accordance with local regulations. If left to
dry, the fluid will leave a tacky spot on the
floor that when wet, will again become
slippery.
Issue - COLD FLUID:
IF THE SMARTWASHER IS LOW ON FLUID, THE
HEATER AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF.
Check to see if the “Add Fluid” indicators
are lit (there should be approximately 9.75”
[25 cm] of fluid in the machine).
If the “Add Fluid” light is lit, add a full
container of OzzyJuice (the light should go
out).
Allow for a reasonable warm up period and
then recheck.
The Thermostat is factory-set to maintain the fluid at 108° F or 115° F (+-2°)
( 42°C or 46°C(+-1°)).

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Once unit has been cleaned, replace the sink and
add a new OzzyMat and 25 gallons (five, 5-gallon
containers) of new OzzyJuice.
If you replace all of the OzzyJuice, rinse the base of
the SmartWasher to remove all excess oil and dirt.
Issue - EXCESSIVE FLUID LOSS:
With “normal usage” you should have to add a five gallon container of
OzzyJuice approximately every 6 to 8 weeks. “Normal usage” means
the equivalent of several users in a 10 hour day in a standard
maintenance, repair and operation facility or several users in a
multiple bay garage facility.
Issue - EXCESSIVE OIL
DUMPED IN SYSTEM If excessive oil is dumped into the SmartWasher,
take the following steps to remedy the situation;
Unplug the SmartWasher and lift the sink off the base.
1.
Skim excessive oil off the top of the OzzyJuice or place an absorbent pad on
top of the fluid, soak up the oil and dispose of it in accordance with local
regulations.
2.
In extreme cases, it may be necessary to replace all of the OzzyJuice in the
SmartWasher. Dispose of contaminated OzzyJuice and OzzyMats according
to local regulations.
3.
If you replace all of the OzzyJuice, rince the base of the SmartWasher to
remove all excess oil and dirt.
4.
Once unit has been cleaned, replace the sink and add a new OzzyMat and 25
gallons ((5) 5-gallon boxes) of new OzzyJuice.

CHECKING for Problems:
a. Check the fluid temperature, If the temperature is above 120°F (49°C) the
thermostat is not working properly. Temperatures above 120°F (49°C) will
increase the rate of evaporation.
b. Examine closely where the sink and base meet. Are there any gaps? Is the
base bowed? Is the sink warped? The SmartWasher operates as a closed
system; any gaps will provide space for air to enter and condensation to
escape.
c. Is the SmartWasher “leaking”? Where is it “leaking” from? Make sure the
nozzle and brush are flowing into the sink. If the fluid is leaking from the body
of the base? The base will need to be replaced.
d. If none of the previous apply, this rules out any problem with the SmartWasher
itself. Make sure you and your coworkers are aware that certain practices can
cause you to use excessive amounts of OzzyJuice.
Issue - EXCESSIVE FLUID LOSS:

CHECKING Practices:
How often, how much and when are you adding
fluid? A full container of fluid should be added
immediately when the add/low fluid light comes
on. The system is designed to warn users at the
point at which fluid should be added. Please
keep in mind that the light will remain while fluid
is low, and more fluid will be needed to reach
the proper operating level.
Are operators squeezing the excessive fluid
out of the OzzyMat into the sink after installing
a new OzzyMat? When changing out the old
OzzyMat, squeeze out any excessive fluid.
Does the OzzyMat clog up and cause the fluid
to pool up in the sink? If the fluid is backing up
in the sink and not draining through the Ozzy-
Mat properly, there will be increased evapora-
tion and the low fluid light may come on prema-
turely because the fluid is in the sink, not in the
base.
How many operators and how many hours a
day are you using the SmartWasher? This will
help you determine if they have high, normal or
low usage. If you have higher than normal
usage, you will have higher fluid usage.
When did you notice the change in usage? If
fluid usage has been fine for a period of time
and usage has just recently increased, check to
see if anything has changed recently. (New
employees, more employees, more parts being
cleaned, longer hours of use, etc.)
How many hours a day do you have the pump
running? The more the pump runs, the more
evaporation occurs. Never leave the pump
running when the SmartWasher is not in use.

Hose connections should be secure
and not leaking.
Make sure SmartWasher is not low on

Hoses from the pump to the nozzle and
brush could be clogged, pinched or
disconnected. Check the hoses from
the pump to the nozzle making sure
they are in working order.
Make sure that the valves at the base
of the nozzle and brush are open. If a
stronger flow through either device is
needed, turn the valve on the unused
tool to the closed position.

VÉRIFICATION DES RÉGLEMENTATIONS LOCALES:
Votre SmartWasher est expédié tout monté (L'OzzyMat, sa grille de
support et faux fond de la cuve sont emballés à l’intérieur de la cuve).
Effectuez une inspection visuelle pour repérer d’éventuels dommages
(des rayures et éraflures mineures sont normales et résultent du procédé
de moulage).
Le SmartWasher®pèsera environ 300 lbs (136 kg) quand il sera rempli
avec du fluide. Il faut l’installer suffisamment près d’une prise électrique de
circuit avec disjoncteur différentiel avec sur défaut de terre (GFCI)
fournissant du 115 V CA (ou 220 V CA suivant le cas) afin de pouvoir le
brancher. Le SmartWasher devra être le seul appareil branché sur ce
circuit secteur. Ne le branchez pas avant de l’avoir garni de fluide.
L'OzzyMat piège les particules de
boues et saletés aussi fines que 50
microns. Il fonctionne efficacement
même s’il semble sale. Cependant à
un certain stade il se sature,
empêchant le passage correct du
fluide, et il faut alors le changer. Le
SmartWasher comporte des
ouvertures de contournement situées
sous le faux fond de la cuve pour
permettre le débordement lorsque
l'OzzyMat est encrassé. L'OzzyMat
FL-4 multicouches vous donne la
commodité de pouvoir peler
progressivement des couches
encrassées pour retarder les
changements du tapis.
7. Remettez le faux fond en position.
Enlevez le faux fond et vérifiez que la grille de support du tapis est au fond
de la cuve. Enlevez et jetez les matériaux d’emballage.

N'oubliez pas que l'OzzyMat™est à remplacer tous les 30 jours.
Votre SmartWasher doit rester bran-
ché 24 heurs par jour et 7 jours par
semaine pour maintenir une tem-
pérature interne optimale.
Le chauffage ne fonctionnera pas
quand le niveau de fluide passe sous
le seuil critique. Levez le puits et
vérifiez votre niveau de fluide. Votre
SmartWasher doit contenir environ
9,75” (25 cm) de hauteur de fluide. Si
le niveau de fluide est inférieur à cette
valeur, faites l'appoint d'OzzyJuice. Si
après une période de préchauffage
raisonnable la température du fluide
semble être trop chaude ou trop
froide, veuillez vous référer à la
section “Dépannage” en pages 7 et 8.
Pour aider à surveiller et à maintenir le niveau
correct de fluide, le SmartWasher est équipé d'un
indicateur de niveau de fluide trop bas. Quand le
voyant “Add Fluid” s'allume, ajoutez
immédiatement le contenu d'un bidon de 5 gallons
d'OzzyJuice. Cela fera s'éteindre ce voyant.
Quand le voyant “Add Fluid” s'allume, le chauffage
se coupe jusqu'à ce que l'appoint nécessaire de
fluide soit effectué.

N'AJOUTEZ PAS
Si la température tombe en dessous
du seuil minimum, le système
continuera de nettoyer, mais la
biorestauration des hydrocarbures par
la colonie de microbes Ozzy microbe
sera ralentie. Cependant ces microbes
ne mourront pas, et la colonie de
microbes redeviendra plus active
quand la température de fluide
remontera au niveau approprié.
AJOUT D'OZZYJUICE®
Versez lentement tout un bidon
d'OzzyJuice directement dans le puits
du SmartWasher. Le voyant “Add Fluid”
doit s'être éteint quand vous avez
terminé le remplissage.
Le SmartWasher®utilise un fluide spécialement formulé qui fournit
une combinaison avec d'excellentes caractéristiques de nettoyage,
pour l'alimentation et l'abri des microbes Ozzy®. L'OzzyJuice®est
fourni en conteneurs prêts à l'emploi.
SOLUTION DE DÉGRAISSAGE OZZYJUICE®
Le thermostat a été réglé en usine
pour maintenir une température de
fluide à 108°F ou de 115°F (±2°) (42
°C) (±1°). Cette température fournit
la condition idéale pour un

Pour garder votre nouveau système
au mieux de sa performance, retenez
ces Entretien annuel suggéré :
UTILISATION, SOINS ET ENTRETIEN CORRECTS
Le chauffage est coupé aussi
longtemps que le voyant “Add
Fluid” est allumé.
Le SmartWasher est conçu pour
“manger” l'huile et la graisse
détachées des pièces sales. Il n'est
PAS conçu pour fonctionner
comme décharge pour huiles de
vidange! Les microbes Ozzy
microbes s'alimentent d'huile et de
graisse lavées des pièces durant
l'utilisation normale. Si un excès
d'huile, de carburant, de fluide de
transmission, d'antigel ou de fluide
similaire est jeté dans le système,
les microbes Ozzy peuvent en être
détruits.
NE PAS AJOUTER DE L'EAU OU
DES AGENTS BLANCHISSANTS,
DÉSINFECTANTS,
INSECTICIDES OU BIOCIDES DE
QUELQUE SORTE QUE CE SOIT.
Ne nettoyez pas des pinceaux de
peintre dans le SmartWasher, les
microbes Ozzy ne peuvent pas
consommer les pigments non
organiques des peintures.
Pour garder l'efficacité du
SmartWasher, il est impératif que
rien ne soit ajouté dans l'OzzyJuice
à part de l'OzzyJuice d'appoint, ou
des résidus venant des pièces
sales.
Coupez la pompe quand vous
n'êtes pas en train de nettoyer des
pièces. Cela aidera à minimiser
l'évaporation du fluide.
Changez l'OzzyMat chaque mois.
Sortez simplement le fluide par pompage
dans des conteneurs jusqu'à ce que la
machine soit vidée.

Si vous n’avez pas entretenu conven-
ablement votre SmartWasher, vous
pouvez quand même sauver votre
fluide. Effectuez simplement l’entretien
annuel décrit précédemment puis
ajoutez de l'OzzyBooster pour une livrai-
son supplémentaire de microbes afin de
ramener votre fluide au niveau normal.
Si votre fluide a développé une odeur,
vous pouvez également la neutraliser en
y ajoutant de l'inhibiteur d'odeurs.

CONSEILS IMPORTANTS :
Débranchez électriquement le Smart-
Washer.

Enlevez le puits du socle. Inspectez-le
et éliminez toute boue éventuelle qui
se serait accumulée au fond de l'unité.

Nettoyez le socle à l'eau pour chasser
tous les débris.
4.
Vérifiez visuellement l'état des tuyaux,
des connecteurs, etc. Si tout semble être
fonctionnel, remontez le puits, changez
l'OzzyMat, et remettez l'OzzyJuice dans
le SmartWasher.

SmartWash

La biorestauration est l'utilisation d'agents biologiques, tels
que des microbes ou des plantes, afin de dissocier ou de
neutraliser des “ substances dangereuses” ou des
“contaminants”, en éliminant ainsi des produits chimiques
néfastes de l'environnement. Le processus de
biorestauration est listé par l'EPA (agence américaine de
protection de l'environnement) parmi les technologies
innovantes.
Qu'est-ce que la BIORESTAURATION ?
En quoi la “Biorestauration” diffère-t-elle de
la “Biodégradation” ?
Comparaison : Par biorestauration les "Ozzy" du
SmartWasher, agents biologiques naturels ou microbes,
dissocient les contaminants à base de carbone (graisse et
huile) et les transforment en dioxyde de carbone et eau, qui
ne présentent pas de danger. Biodégradable signifie qu'une
substance ou un mélange se dégrade ou peut se dégrader
en composés plus petits par action d'agents biologiques.
Ozzy®: qui-est ce, ou plutôt qu'est-ce que c'est ?
Ozzy est le nom qui a été choisi pour le mélange de
microbes non pathogènes (sans danger pour l'homme) dans
le système SmartWasher. Nos microbes, Ozzy et ses
copains, digèrent des hydrocarbures potentiellement
dangereux au sein du SmartWasher, et transforment ces
déchets en très petites quantités de dioxyde de carbone et
d'eau. Des types similaires de microbes ont été utilisés
depuis de nombreuses années dans divers applications de
biorestauration, comme l'action sur des déversements de
pétrole, incluant le nettoyage après la catastrophe de
l'Exxon Valdez en mars 1989.
Qu'arrive-t-il à la graisse, aux huiles et aux
autres contaminants dans le SmartWasher?
La graisse, les huiles et les autres contaminants sont
biorestaurés dans le SmartWasher – c'est-à-dire
transformés en sous-produits sans danger comme le
dioxyde de carbone et l'eau. La matière en particules,
comme le sable, le gravier, la saleté et les copeaux de
peinture sont emprisonnés dans l'OzzyMat pour être
correctement mis au rebut ultérieurement.
Quelle quantité d'huile puis-je mettre dans
SmartWasher d'un seul coup?
Comme pour tous les nettoyeurs de pièces, l'excédent de
graisses, d'huiles et de fluide doit être éliminé avant de laver
les pièces. Le SmartWasher peut exécuter de grosses
tâches, difficiles et sales, mais n'a pas été conçu - et ne doit
pas été utilisé - comme une décharge pour huiles usées.
Comment mettre l'OzzyMat au rebut?
L'OzzyMat doit être mis au rebut en conformité avec vos
réglementations fédérales, provinciales et locales. Dans
beaucoup de régions l'OzzyMat peut se jeter scellé sans
lavage, et mis au rebut comme déchet solide selon les
réglementations applicables. Vous trouverez plus

QUESTIONS SOUVENT POSÉES
Est-ce que je peux simplement rajouter de
l'eau pour refaire le niveau du fluide ?
NON. Ajouter de l'eau diluerait l'OzzyJuice, ce qui
dégraderait notablement sa performance.
À quelle vitesse les microbes Ozzy
dissocient-ils l'huile et la graisse ?
Une fois activé, Ozzy et ses copains mangent
constamment. En supposant que le système soit
opérationnel en permanence (avec température
d'OzzyJuice de 108 - 115°F et l'OzzyMat changé
régulièrement une fois tous les 30 jours), le taux de
biorestauration des hydrocarbures peut approcher des 80
% en 7 jours. Des analyses, effectuées sur des
échantillons d'OzzyJuice utilisé en fonctionnement continu
dans des SmartWasher, montrent de façon régulière des
niveaux d'huile et de graisse d'environ 1 400 parties par
million. EN COMPARAISON, des produits nettoyants
utilisés aqueux sans biodégradation peuvent contenir en
moyenne 20 000 parties par million d'huile et de graisse.
Y a-t-il quelque chose qui peut tuer les
microbes Ozzy?
OUI. Tous les produits biocides conçus pour éliminer les
microbes, comme l'eau de javel ou du Lysol™, tueront les
microbes Ozzy. Et des produits chimiques qui tuent des
choses vivantes, comme certains pesticides puissants ou
de la mort aux rats, peuvent nuire gravement aux microbes
Ozzy.
À quelle fréquence dois-je changer le fluide
(OzzyJuice)?
Si vous remplacez l'OzzyMat au moins une fois par mois,
en utilisation normale et avec un bon entretien, vous ne
devriez jamais à avoir à changer ou à jeter de l'OzzyJuice
usé. C'est l'un des principaux avantages du système
SmartWasher. Les microbes Ozzy nettoient les
contaminants du fluide par le processus de biorestauration.
Cela vous laisse avec de l'OzzyJuice propre pour travailler
jour après jour.
A quelle fréquence dois-je rajouter de
l'OzzyJuice dans le SmartWasher ?
Le SmartWasher est livré équipé d'un voyant indicateur de
niveau bas de fluide qui s'allume quand il n'y a plus assez
de fluide. Dans ce cas vous ajoutez simplement un bidon
de 5 gallons d'OzzyJuice pour ramener le niveau de fluide
à la normale. En moyenne, en utilisation normale, vous
aurez à rajouter un bidon de 5 gallons environ toutes les
six à huit semaines.
Que faire si l'OzzyMat s'obstrue rapidement
avec de la graisse ?
Si vous utilisiez le tapis OzzyMat modèle FL-3 à une seule
couche, vous pouvez changer pour l'OzzyMat FL-4
multicouches. Ce dernier tapis comporte quatre couches à
peler l'une après l'autre chaque semaine, ce qui évite une
obstruction néfaste. Si vous utilisiez déjà l'OzzyMat FL-4
OzzyMat, assurez-vous de bien procéder au pelage de la
couche supérieure chaque semaine, et de remplacer tout le
tapis à la fin des 4 semaines OU chaque mois.
