Vehicle Memory Saver
User’s Manual

Read these instructions completely before using the SOLAR Battery Charger and save them for
future reference. Before using the SOLAR Battery Charger to charge a battery, read these
instructions and the instruction manual/safety information provided by the car, truck, boat or
equipment manufacturer. Following all manufacturers’ instructions and safety procedures will
reduce the risk of accident.
Working around lead-acid batteries may be dangerous. Lead-acid batteries release explosive gases
during normal operation, charging and jump starting. Carefully read and follow these instructions for
safe use. Always follow the specific instructions in this manual and on the SOLAR Battery Charger
each time you use the SOLAR Battery Charger.
All lead-acid batteries (car, truck and boat) produce hydrogen gas which may violently explode in
the presence of fire or sparks. Do not smoke, use matches or a cigarette lighter while near
batteries. Do not handle the battery while wearing vinyl clothing because static electricity sparks
are generated when vinyl clothing is rubbed. Review all cautionary material on the SOLAR Battery
Charger and in the engine compartment.
Always wear eye protection, appropriate protective clothing and other safety equipment when
working near lead-acid batteries. Do not touch eyes while working on or around lead-acid batteries.
Always store clamps away from each other or common conductors. Improper storage of clamps
may cause the clamps to come in contact with each other, or a common conductor, which would
be hazardous if the charger was plugged into an AC outlet.
Use extreme care while working within the engine compartment, because moving parts may cause
severe injury. Read and follow all safety instructions published in the vehicle's Owner's Manual.
Batteries being charged with the SOLAR Battery Charger unit likely contain liquid acids which are
hazardous if spilled.
Failure to follow instructions may cause

Note: Please charge your unit immediately upon purchase, after each use and
every 30 days when not in use to keep the Memory Saver’s internal battery
charged for long service life.
Note: To prevent short circuit and loss of vehicle memory, do not allow vehicle’s
disconnected battery cables to touch each other or a vehicle ground.

Personal Precautions
To reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the Memory Saver from the AC supply
before operating, maintaining or cleaning the unit.
Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in case battery acid contacts skin,
clothing or eyes. Protective eyewear should always be worn when working near
lead-acid batteries.
If battery acid contacts skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water.
If acid enters eye, immediately flood eye with running cold water for at least 10
minutes and get medical attention immediately.
Be extra cautious to reduce risk of dropping a metal tool onto a battery. It
might spark or short circuit the battery or another electrical part that may cause
explosion.
Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces and watches when
working with a lead-acid battery. A lead-acid battery can produce a short-circuit
current high enough to weld a ring or the like to metal, causing a severe burn.
NEVER test, charge, jump start or otherwise operate a frozen battery.
Do not submerge in water.
Do not operate with flammables such as gasoline, etc.
If the Memory Saver receives a sharp blow or is otherwise damaged in any way,
have it checked by a qualified service person.
Make sure the Memory Saver cable connectors make tight connections.

Operating Instructions
Preserve Vehicle Memory and Presets
(Connected via Integrated OBDII Cord)
Note: Make sure that the Memory Saver is fully charged prior to using it for this
purpose to ensure it has enough reserve capacity to accomplish its task.
1. The Memory Saver’s integrated OBDII cable exits the unit from the rear case
and is stored in a storage pocket on the back of the unit. To access the OBDII
cable, remove the storage pocket door. Once the cable has been pulled out of the
storage pocket, the storage pocket door should be put back into place, with the
cable exiting through the hole at the top of the door.
2. Prior to using, verify all vehicle loads and accessories are OFF. To prevent
damage, do not use Memory Saver if vehicle’s current draw is 4 amps or more
when the vehicle is OFF.
Note: Vehicle systems often cycle after the vehicle is turned off. Cycling
places demands on the vehicle’s electrical system. Before using the
Memory Saver, turn the vehicle OFF and wait for 25 minutes. Doing so
will ensure that all vehicle cycling is completed (most vehicles).
3. Connect the Memory Saver’s OBDII cable to the vehicle’s OBDII port. Make sure
the connection is secure.
4. Press the Power Button and hold for 3 seconds to activate the unit. You should
get a Green 100% charged light indicating the unit is ready for service. If you get
a ~75% charged light, you will have only a limited amount of reserve capacity to
work with. The unit should be recharged. If the red LED (<50%) is lit or no LED
lights, recharge the unit immediately.
5. Disconnect the vehicle’s battery cable terminals and replace the battery.
Note: To prevent short circuit and loss of vehicle memory, do not allow
vehicle’s disconnected battery cables to touch each other or a vehicle
ground.

6. Upon battery replacement, deactivate the unit by pressing and holding the
power button for 3 seconds. Disconnect Memory Saver from vehicle and store
the OBDII cord.
Note: If the unit is powered and idle for 4 hours, it will automatically turn off.
Preserve Vehicle Memory and Presets
(Connected via provided Male-Male DC Cord)
Note: Make sure that the Memory Saver is fully charged prior to using it for this
purpose to ensure it has enough reserve capacity to accomplish its task.
1. Prior to using, verify all vehicle loads and accessories are OFF. To prevent damage,
do not use Memory Saver if vehicle’s current draw is 4 amps or more when the
vehicle is OFF.

Checking the Memory Saver’s Charge Status
To check the unit’s internal state of charge and its readiness to perform it’s intended
task, press and hold the Power Button down for 3 seconds. The Internal Status
Indicators below the Power Button will provide information as to the unit’s state of
charge:
• Green indicates the unit is at or near a fully charged state and ready for use.
• Yellow indicates that the unit is between 50-75% state of charge. It should
be charged soon. In this state, its ability to supply power will be limited in
duration.
• Red indicates that the unit is below 50% state of charge and should be
charged immediately.
• No lights showing means that the unit is severely discharged. It should be
charged immediately and completely to reduce the chance of sulfation build-
up, which would rob it of its reserve capacity.
Note: Please charge your unit immediately upon purchase, after each use and
every 30 days when not in use to keep the Memory Saver’s internal
battery charged for long service life.
Recharging Your Memory Saver
Note: The Memory Saver should be idle and disconnected from all power drains
when recharging is performed.
1. Plug the provided AC/DC adapter into a properly grounded 120VAC wall outlet.
2. Plug the small charging jack on the end of the AC/DC adapter cord into the
charging port on the left of the front of the unit.

3. The charging indicator LED should light yellow.
Note: If the red “FAULT” LED lights when the AC connection is made, check
all connections. If all connections are correctly seated, suspect a faulty
battery.
4. When the unit has reached full charge, the yellow CHARGING LED will turn off and
the green FULL LED will light. The unit is ready for service. The unit is equipped with
overcharge protection and can remain connected to AC indefinitely without adverse
consequences.
Note: If the unit is charging for over 24 hours without achieving a green FULL
LED, the internal battery may be compromised.

Warranty
Clore Automotive warrants this product to be free from defects in material
or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original end user
purchase. This warranty extends to each person who acquires lawful ownership
within one year of the original retail purchase, but is void if the product has been
abused, altered, misused or improperly packaged and damaged when returned
for repair.
This warranty applies to the product only and does not apply to any
accessoryitems included with the product which are subject to wear from usage;
the replacement or repair of these items shall be at the expense of the owner.
THE TERMS OF THE CLORE AUTOMOTIVE LIMITED WARRANTY CONSTITUTE
THE BUYER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY. THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES

Comprobación del estado de carga del Preservador de memoria
Para comprobar el estado interno de carga de la unidad y su disposición para
ejecutar la tarea prevista, mantenga pulsado el botón de encendido durante 3
segundos. Los indicadores de estado interno debajo del botón de encendido
proporcionarán información sobre el estado de carga de la unidad:
• El color verde indica que la unidad está en un estado de totalmente cargada
o de casi totalmente cargada y se encuentra lista para su uso.

• El color amarillo indica que el estado de carga de la unidad se encuentra
entre el 50-75%. Se debe cargar pronto. En este estado, su capacidad para
suministrar energía estará limitada en duración.
• El color rojo indica que el estado de carga de la unidad está por debajo del
50% y debe cargarse de inmediato.
• La ausencia de indicadores encendidos indica que la unidad está
excesivamente descargada. Debe cargarse de inmediato y por completo para
reducir la posibilidad de acumulación de sulfatación, que la despojaría de su
capacidad de reserva.
Nota: Cargue su unidad de inmediato después de la compra, después de
cada uso y cada 30 días cuando no se utilice, para mantener cargada la
batería interna del Preservador de memoria y obtener una larga vida de
servicio.
Recarga de su Preservador de memoria
Nota: El Preservador de memoria debe estar inactivo y desconectado de todos
los consumos de energía cuando se lleva a cabo la recarga.
1. Enchufe el transformador CA/CC suministrado a un tomacorriente de 120V CA
correctamente conectado a tierra.
2. Enchufe el pequeño conector de carga del extremo del cable del transformador
de CA/CC en el puerto de carga en la izquierda de la parte frontal de la unidad.
3. El LED indicador de carga se debe encender de color amarillo.
Nota: Si al realizar la conexión a CA se enciende el LED rojo “FAULT”,
compruebe todas las conexiones. Si todas las conexiones se han
colocado correctamente, sospeche de una batería defectuosa.
4. Cuando la unidad ha alcanzado la carga completa, el LED amarillo
“CHARGING” se apagará y se encenderá el LED verde “FULL”. La unidad está

Nota: Si se carga la unidad durante más de 24 horas, la batería interna puede
verse afectada.

Garantía
Clore Automotive garantiza que este producto está libre de defectos de material
o de mano de obra durante un período de un año desde la fecha de compra por

chaque utilisation ainsi que tous les 30 jours lorsque celui-ci n’est
pas utilisé afin maintenir chargée la batterie interne du dispositif de
sauvegarde de mémoire pour une durée de vie prolongée.
Remarque : Afin d’empêcher les courts-circuits et pertes de mémoire du véhicule,
ne pas laisser les câbles de batterie se toucher ou toucher la masse
du véhicule.
