VINTENDED USE
• This appliance is intended to prepare various types of coee with freshly ground
beans.
• Only use the appliance as described in this manual.
• This appliance is intended for household use and similar applications such as:
– sta kitchen areas in shops, oces and other working environments
– farm houses
– by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments
– bed and breakfast type environments and not for commercial use
• This appliance is intended for indoor use only.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by
a person responsible for their safety.
• Any use of the appliance other than described in this manual is regarded as misuse
and may cause injury, damage to the appliance and void the warranty.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Risk of injury. Using this appliance without knowledge of the
involved risks may cause injury to yourself or others.
•Ensure you have fully read and understood the instructions in
this user manual before installing or using the appliance.
•Keep this document for future reference.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING INSTALLATION
Risk of re or electric shock. Using the appliance with a
damaged power cable may cause electric shock or re caused
by short circuit of electrical components.
•Do not use the appliance if the power cable is damaged.
•If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, the service agent or similar qualied personnel
in order to avoid a hazard.
•Make sure that neither the appliance nor the power cord or
plug comes into contact with hot surfaces, such as hotplates
or a radiator, or that they come into contact with the
appliance itself.
•Fully unwind the power cable before use.
•Do not disconnect the appliance by pulling on the cable.
Always grasp the connector and pull.
Risk of electric shock. Touching the appliance while in contact
with water greatly increases the chance of electric shock.
•Never place the appliance in such a way that it is at risk of
falling into water or coming into contact with water or other
liquids (e.g. in or near a sink).
•Never reach for an appliance that has fallen into water or
other liquids.
–Always wear dry rubber gloves to unplug the appliance
before taking it out of the water.

–Do not start using the appliance again before having it
checked for functionality and safety by Solis or a service
center authorized by Solis.
•Do not operate the appliance with wet hands.
Risk of electric shock. Heat or water originating from the
appliance may damage the power outlet.
•Do not place the appliance directly under a power outlet.
Risk of overheating. Blockage of the ventilation openings or
exposure to a heat source may cause the appliance to overheat.
•Keep a minimum distance of 20 cm between the appliance
and walls, curtains or other materials and objects so the air
around the appliance can circulate freely.
•Do not place the appliance inside a cabinet when in use.
•Do not place the appliance in direct sunlight.
Risk of product damage. Physical shock may damage the
internal components of the appliance.
•Do not leave the power cable hanging over table edges to
prevent the appliance from being pulled down.
•Place the appliance on a stable, at, heat and moisture
resistant surface.

Risk of damage to the electrical components. Connecting the
appliance to an unsuitable power supply may cause damage to
the electrical components.
•Before using the appliance, check that the voltage stated on
the type plate of your appliance matches your mains voltage.
•Do not operate the appliance with a multiway plug adapter.

Risk of injury. Leaving the appliance unattended during use
may cause injury to children or people that are not aware of the
risks involved with the appliance.
•Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.
•Switch o and unplug the appliance when not in use.
•Do not use a timer or a separate remote-control system that
automatically switches the device on.
•Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
Risk of electric shock or product damage. The power cable
may be damaged when moving the appliance during use:
•Do not move the appliance when in use.
•Switch o and unplug the appliance before moving the
appliance.

Risk of contamination. Hot water is more likely to contain
contaminants, such as corrosion from metallic pipes or boilers.
•Only use cold tap water in the water tank.
Risk of burn injury. Parts of the appliance become hot during
use.
•During operation, only touch the buttons, selectors, or heat
insulated handles. All other parts can get hot.
•Never remove the portalter during the brewing process.
•Be careful when emptying the portalter directly after use.
The appliance and the coee dregs are still very hot.
•During or directly after the steaming process, only touch the
steam and hot water wand by using the thermo-insulated
loop. The steaming wand gets hot.
•Do not point the tip of the steaming wand directly at the
bottom of the cup.
•Never point the steam and hot water wand towards people,
animals, or moisture sensitive items.
Risk of product damage. Physical shock may damage the
internal components of the appliance.
•Only lift the appliance by holding the base.
•Do not drop the appliance and avoid impacts.

Risk of product damage. The use of damaged parts or incorrect
accessories may permanently damage the appliance.
•Do not use the appliance if a part is damaged or defective.
Replace a damaged or defective appliance immediately.
•Only use the appliance with the provided accessories or
accessories recommended by Solis.
Risk of overheating. Blockage of the ventilation openings or
exposure to a heat source may cause the appliance to overheat.
•Do not cover the air vents when the appliance is in use.
Risk of product damage. Incorrect use of the portalter may
damage it.
•Do not overll the portalter. The ground coee should not
be in direct contact with the brewing head when placed to
ensure a proper seal.
•Make sure the portalter is rmly installed. If the portalter
does not turn easily in place, remove the portalter and
reduce the amount of ground coee.
Risk of product damage. Cutting o the power while the
appliance is in use may cause damage to active electrical
components.
•Always switch o the appliance before disconnecting.

Risk of water damage. Water may spill out of the water
tank when it is too full and damage the internal electrical
components.
•Do not ll the water tank above the MAX marking.
Risk of product damage. Using the appliance without water in
the tank may cause damage to the internal components.
•Do not operate the appliance when the water tank is empty.
Risk of product damage. Incorrect use of the appliance may
damage the grinder.
•Do not use the appliance when the bean container is empty.
•Only ll the bean container with whole coee beans. Never
use ground coee.
•Only adjust the grind size when the grinder is running, to
avoid damaging the grinder.
•Do not activate the grinder when the lid of the bean
container is removed.
Risk of product damage. Objects placed on the appliance may
be damaged or fall o.
•Do not place anything on the appliance while it is in use,
except for cups for preheating.

Risk of choking. The cleaning tool is small and may be
swallowed by children.
•Keep the cleaning tool away from children.
Risk of electric shock. Touching live electrical components will
cause electric shock.
•Disconnect the appliance from the power source before
performing maintenance tasks and when replacing parts.
Risk of poisoning. Oils or lubricants used in the appliance may
seep into the water tank and pollute the water.
•Do not use any oils or lubricants on this appliance.
Risk of burn injury. Parts of the appliance become hot during
use.
•Let the appliance cool down before performing maintenance.
Risk of corrosion damage. Abrasive chemical cleaning agents
such as ammonia, acid or acetone may cause acid corrosion
damage to the appliance.
•Only use non-abrasive cleaning agents to clean the appliance.
