OPERATING INSTRUCTONS
The tr nsceiver is re dy to oper te when it is inst lled w ith n ntenn
properly connected. Note th t the com munic tion r nge diffe rs depending upon
the environment where the tr nsceiver is oper ted.
You m y re ch 30 or 40 kilom eters where no obst cle exists, but the r nge
m y be lim ited to 5 or 6 kilom eters in cities where m ny high buildings
disturb the com munic tion.
1) Turn the set on by switching the LOW CH-OFF-HIGH CH. sn p switch to
the desired ch nnel r nge nd the ch nnel di l w ill be lighted. Turn
the volum e control clockw ise to incre se the udio sound. Note th t the
volume control knob is only for djusting the udio volume, not to in
cre se the tr nsm ittin g power.
2) Set the D ELTA-TUNE for best réception.
3) Turn the squelch control clockwise until incoming noise is elim in ted. Do
not turn it excessively s the sen sitiv ity m y be reduced.
4) Turn the squelch control counter-clockwise to switch o ff the ANL
(Autom tic Noise Lim iter).
5) Turn the RF GAIN control to the m xim um clockwise position.
6) Turn the ch nnel selector knob to the desired ch nnel.
7) For tr nsm itting, press the button on the microphone nd spe k into it
norm lly. Rele se the button for receiving.
METER
The m eter re ding indic tes the sign l strength t receiving, nd functions s
n output indic tor t tr nsm itting, nd the m eter pointer should be w ith in
the red zone under the norm l conditions.
CIRCUIT PROTECTION INDICATION LAMP
The l mp is on when the ntenn is mism tched, nd the tr nsm ittin g c ircu it
w ill be eut o ff. This L mp is loc ted underne th the ch nnel lens.
