
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
You SOMMERKAMP TS-5632 t ansceive has been désignée! fo continous heavy
duty po table application. It can be ope ated with exte nal antenna, powe supply,
headset, telephoneset inco po ating automatic voice ope ated t ansmit/ eceive
switching, sho t type ubbe antenna, exte nal sélective calling with automatic
answe back and many mo e.
GENERAL:
The t ansceive is designed to ope ate with inte nal d y cells o echa geable
nickel-cadmium batte ies such as N500AA set with the 12360 cha ge , o with
an exte nal 12V DC powe supply such as NT30, o with an automobile batte y.
To p event excesive batte y d ain,.this t ansceive has a stand-by switch in
combination with the ope ate and call switch, which by a timing ci cuit and
a switching t ansisto switches the eceive on fo 2 seconds and off fo 10
seconds. This device extends the batte y life 6 times longe compa ed with
continous squeiched stand-by ope ation. It is necessa y, howeve , fo a calling
station to cali by minimum 10-15 seconds befo e eceiption and contact is
possible.
RECEIVER SECTION:
The eceive section is designed to eceive amplitude moduiated signais (AM/A3)
in the 26.965 to 27.275MHz. (11 mete ) citizens band. The unique combination
of low noise Field Effect T ansisto s (FET), double conve sion, a combination
of mechanical ce amic, and L/C fiite s, fully automatic noise limite and a hifi
quality speake amplifie will give you exceptional éception quality in this
fine piece of equipment.
In addition, the above combination of the latest technology p ovides you with
a sensitivity and unwanted signal ejection and noise supp ession availabie
p eviously only in space and milita y communication equipment.
The powe supply of the eceive section is stabilized by an ext eme Sha p
cut-off Zene diode cont olled sé iés stabilize to obtain the high sensitivity
and unwanted signal ejection. The fully automatic sé iés gâte noise limite ,
which vi tually cuts off the audio output du ing ignition noise puises, is de-
featable to make even the weakest signal audible which othe wise would be
eut off by the th eshold level of the ANL switching diode.
The high squelch sensitivity is achieved by using a sepe ate squelch detecto
and switching ci cuit with a ca efully balanced hysté ésis. The t ansfo me iess
hifi quality audio powe amplifie will d ive any load between 32 ohms and
indefininite such as inte nai speake /mic ophone combination o exte nal speake /
mic ophone o headset combinations having the above impédances.
