Configuring data connection
on SonyEricsson
Serie T6xx & Serie Z6xx
cell phones

In general the data connection of a
new cell phone is properly configured
when you buy it. If your data
connection works, you can continue
reading the chapter „Installing the
mobile application“.
If your data connection does not work,
it is highly recommended to request the
data configuration of your mobile
phone comfortably from your service
provider. On the website of your
service provider you are in general
supported during entering the required
data (e.g. your mobile phone model,
your mobile phone number, your

your mobile phone number, your
provider) .
At the end you will receive an SMS
from your mobile service provider with
configuration settings for the network
you are using.
Just follow the instructions sent to you
by SMS.

1.1. Manual data configuration
Step 1
Select „Connectivity“ from the
main menu or „Options“ menü
Step 2
Go to „Data Communication“
and then to „Data Accounts“
Step 3
Now select „New Account“
Activate „GPRS account“


Enter the APN-Address.

Go back to the menu
„Connectivity“ and select
„Internet Profiles“
Apply a „New Profile“
Now connect the profile
with the data account, you
just have installed.

2. Installing the mobile application
Getting Started with WAP
message
You will receive a WAP push message
containing the URL to download the
application. All settings must be pre-
configured on your cellular device for
receiving WAP messages.
Open the message, select “Go To”.
Your browser automatically opens a
WAP page.The next steps of the
installation are described there.
Scroll down to the download link and
press the “Select” button. The
installation will be started by clicking

If you are asked: „Not a signed
application. Continue downloading?“
select „Yes“.
The application will be downloaded
and memorised in „Applications “.

Getting Started with SMS
If your mobile phone does not support
the WAP push or you haven't installed
the application within a few minutes,
you will additionally receive the
download link via SMS.
Open the message, select „go to“
from the „Message menu“ and click
„Select“ to start the download.
The application will be downloaded
and memorised in „Applications “.

Notes:
GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) and UMTS (Universal Mobile
Telecommunications Systems) represent standards for data transfer.
Using these standards you can connect to your mobile service provider
to access the internet. By this internet connection the application on
your mobile phone can transfer data to the background systems of
GEMAPPS.
The costs for every connection may vary and are depending on the
conditions you have in your contract with your mobile service provider.
