If you’re a Pay Monthly customer
you can:
■Check your usage: for a quick snapshot
of your bill and to see how many minutes
and messages you have left per month.
■Manage your account: see what you’ve
spent each month, check how to pay your
bill, see what price plan you’re on and
view recent bills.
■Manage your details: you can update
your personal details including your
address.
■Manage your alerts: set up alerts to
keep you up to date on the stuff you love.
If you’re a Pay As You Go customer
you can:
■Check your balance: for a quick
snapshot of how much cash, minutes
and messages you have left.
■Top-up your account: buy a Top-up at
any time you like. You’ll need to register
your debit or credit card details.
■Buy an Add-on: convert your Top-ups
to Add-ons by going to My3.
■Manage your account: register your
debit or credit card details. After seven
days you’ll be able to buy a Top-up at
any time you like.

Your 3 USIM can only be used in mobiles
which are enabled for 3 services.

unable to use it – including for emergency calls.

Make voice and video calls

>Enter the number.
>Press Call for voice calls.
>Press More then for video calls.
>Press End call to end a call.
Receive calls
>To answer a call press Answer.
>Press End call to end a call.
>During a video call,
you’ll see a large
picture of the other
person and a small
picture of how you
look to them in the
bottom left of the
screen.
>To stop the other person from seeing you:
press and scroll to Stop camera.
Setting up voicemail and videomail
>To set up voicemail: press and hold .
Follow the voice prompts to choose a PIN
and record your greeting.
>To set up videomail, enter 123 and press

video greeting. The caller will see your video
greeting when you can’t answer a video call.

Send a text or multimedia message
>To send a text: write the message >

>To send a multimedia message (picture msg)
to a mobile or email address: > Scroll to the
icons at bottom of the screen > Add picture
/ video / sound > Camera > select your file

Send and receive emails
>To send an email you first need to set up
email on your mobile – see page 9.
>At To: enter email address or press for
Contacts look up > scroll to the text box >
write your message > Continue > Send.
>To retrieve an email: > Messaging >
Email > Inbox > More > Send & receive.
>To reply to an email: Reply (left soft key).
>Browse into Mail: press and select
. Scroll to Mail and press .
From the browser you can send emails and
view and manage emails, voicemails,
faxmails and contacts.
Help with entering text
>To switch between lower case and
upper case press .
>To turn the predictive text on and off
press and hold .
>To enter numbers press the specific
key for 3 seconds.
>To insert a symbol, template,
emoticon or contact number select
More (right soft key).
>To insert a space press .
Set up your username
To set up your 3mail you need to have set up a
Voicemail PIN first.
>Press and select .
Scroll to Mail and press .
>Scroll to Enter username and press for
the text prompt. Key in your preferred
username (eg johnsmith), scroll down to
Done and press . Then press .
>If this name has already been taken you will
be asked to choose again. Once your
username has been accepted your email
address will follow the format
[email protected]
Set up your profile
>> Messaging > Email > Settings >
3Mail > More > Edit account.
>Scroll to Username and key in your mobile
number starting with 447xxxxxxxx but
without plus (+). Scroll down to Password
and key in the 4-digit PIN you selected for
voicemail. Scroll up to Email address and
key in your email address
(eg [email protected]).
You’re now ready to send and receive emails
from your 3mail account.
Collect emails from other accounts
To collect emails from other accounts you need
to set up your POP3 email account.
>Press and select .
Scroll to Mail and press . Scroll
to and press . Scroll to
Settings and press . Scroll to Manage
other mail and press . At Add new
account press .
>Scroll to Name this account, press for
the text prompt and enter a name for the
account. Then do the same in turn for POP3
server address, POP3 Username, and
POP3 user password and select Done and
press . You can check these details with
your email / internet service provider.
You’re now ready to collect emails from
another email account.

You’ll need: Windows 2000 Professional or
Windows XP, a USB port and CD-ROM drive.
Install the file transfer software
>Load the Sony Ericsson CD that came
with your mobile on to your PC. The
installation should begin automatically.
Install PC Suite and Disc2Phone. Then
follow the Wizard to install.
Connect mobile and your PC
>Connect your mobile and PC using the USB
cable. It will automatically install drivers to
connect your mobile and PC.
>Select Phone Mode on your mobile.
Customise synchronisation settings
>Right click on My Sony Ericsson K530 in
the bottom right corner of your PC.
>Select Sync Manager.
>Select Settings and click Next.
>Select the PC application, eg Microsoft
Outlook, to synchronise with your mobile.
Click Next.
>Select which items you want to synchronise,
ie Calendar or Contact. Then click Next and
the follow the instructions.
>Select Advance Sync for further settings.
Please read the different features carefully
and then select the appropriate feature for
synchronisation.
Synchronise contacts and calendar
>Make sure your mobile and PC are
connected using the USB cable.
>Select Phone Mode on your mobile.
>Right click on My Sony Ericsson K530
in the bottom right corner of your PC and
select Synchronise Now to start the
synchronisation.
Right click on the Sync Manager
Take and send photos and video clips
>Press on the right side of your mobile.
>Press left or right to select camera
or video.
>Press on the right side of your mobile
to take a photo or to start and stop video
recording.
>Select Send (left soft key) and follow menu.
You can control light, brightness, quality, file
size and duration. In Camera or Video camera
mode select Settings (left soft key).
Add a photo to your contact
You can associate a photo with a contact stored
on the mobile and not on your USIM card.
>Highlight the contact > More > Edit contact
> scroll left to and select Picture > Add >
Camera album. Then select your preferred
image > Save.
Viewing photos or video clips
>> My Stuff (7) > Camera album.
Then select your preferred file.
Share video clips – SeeMe TV
SeeMe TV is a new channel on 3where you’re
the star. Simply record a clip and submit it. We’ll
publish it if we can and if someone pays to
watch it, you’ll even be paid.
>Take a video, then send it to 32323.
Watch SeeMe TV
>Press and select .
>Scroll to Meet&Share, select
SeeMeTV and press .
>Scroll to your preferred topic and then
select the clip.
Use your camera to share your photos and videos

You must get permission from anyone in
your video before you send it. By sending
a video you agree to SeeMe TV’s other
rules (see three.co.uk/seemetv for full
t&cs and info on how you will be paid). It
costs 50p to send a video to 32323.

Transfer your tracks between your mobile and PC
Transfer music tracks
>Make sure your mobile and PC are
connected using the USB cable.
>Select File transfer on your mobile.
>Right click on My Sony Ericsson K530 in
the bottom right corner of your PC.
>Select Sony Disc2Phone.
>Drag and drop your preferred tracks from
your PC’s Music Source to Transfer List
(next column).
>Select Transfer from top of the menu to
copy the tracks onto your mobile.
Transfer images, videos and music
>Make sure your mobile and PC are
connected using the USB cable.
>Select File transfer on your mobile and
select Done.
>Right click on My Sony Ericsson K530 in
the bottom right corner of your PC.
>Select File manager.
>In the pop up screen select My Sony
Ericsson K530 on your PC.
>Select Media Memory / Phone memory.
Then drag and drop relevant picture, audio,
video or music between your mobile and PC.
Please note that transferring copyright-
protected content, eg music and football
videos, without the copyright owner’s
consent is against the law and it breaks
your agreement with 3.

Getting the most from your battery
>You can recharge your battery several
hundred times before it will need replacing.
You don’t need to fully discharge it before
recharging.
>Don’t expose the battery charger to direct
sunlight or use in areas of high humidity
such as a bathroom. Battery life will
decrease if you expose it to temperatures
below -10°C or above 45°C.
>If you charge your battery regularly and you
notice a decrease in talk time or an increase
in charging time, then it’s probably time to
buy a new battery.

Before you go abroad
Pay Monthly customers need to call
3customer services to set up your mobile
for international roaming before you leave
the UK. We’ll need to run a credit check.
Pay As You Go customers’ international
roaming capability is already activated.
