MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

WALL MOUNTING UNIT FOR PLASMA MODELS

We recommend that you first thoroughly read this manual to familiarize

yourself with the use of this unit as well as proper installation and safety

precautions. Retain this manual in an easily accessible location for future

reference.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Read the following safety information prior to installation.

• Assemble properly in the instructed order.

• Do not remove backing or bolts after mounting the display.

• Before installation of the display, pull the equipment power plug from the wall receptacle. Installing the display with the

power cable plug inserted in an outlet may result in fire or electric shock.

• Consult authorized service personnel when moving or shifting unit after installation.

• Do not climb on the unit once assembled and installed.

• Do not use screws and attachment parts other than items enclosed.

• The wall should be capable of supporting a weight of at least four (4) times the weight of the plasma display. Proper

installation procedure by qualified personnel as outlined in the installations instructions must be adhered to.

• Always use at least two persons to install the display. If the work is done by a single person, the display may be dropped

and may cause an injury, or damage the plasma display.

• Do not subject the unit to shocks while the display is installed.

• After proper installation, secure the cables so that people or objects do not get tangled in them.

• Keep display away from heater or other heat sources. The cabinet may warp if it is placed in direct sunlight or near an air

conditioner exhaust opening, stove or other heat source.

1. ATTACH BRACKET ARMS TO MONITOR

Use the hardware chart in front of the manual to identify the appropriate bracket hardware. Mounting points on the bracket differ depending on plasma size. See the

diagram on the front of the manual. Invert the display on a soft, flat surface and locate the mounting points on the back of the plasma display. Secure the left and right

mounting arms to the plasma, making sure that the upper hook screw, nut and reference arrow are facing the outside edges of the display. See Fig 2 or 3.

NOTE: Do not over tighten the bracket mounting screws as damage to the display internal mounting threads could occur.

Model KZ-32: Invert the plasma display and lay it on a soft and flat surface. Remove all the screws securing the back cover to the chassis to have access to the

screws securing the base. Remove the four (4) M6 screws and the base completely from the plasma display. Reinstall the cover to the plasma chassis with all the

proper screws. See Fig 1.

The wall plates must be secured to wall studs capable of supporting at least four (4) times the weight of the unit. To determine the center viewing height of the plasma

display. Temporarily position the rod of the lower wall plate to the bottom hook of the secured mounting brackets and determine and note the distance between the bottom

of the plasma display to the bottom of the wall plate (See Fig 3 and 4). Measure the distance from the floor to where the bottom of the plasma will be (Example 60"). Add

the noted distance to the 60" and mark you first securing points (Example 60"+4"=64"). Level and secure the bottom plate with four (4) 5/16" lag bolts and washers

(supplied). See Fig 4.

Note: The wall plate provides you with three (3) 16" stud center patterns and one (1) 24" stud center pattern to assist you in your installation.

With the lower wall plate secured to the wall structure, place the (supplied) cardboard template over the top outside edges of the lower plate. Place the bottom and outside

edges of the upper wall plate into the top portion of the template and mark the second set of securing points for the upper wall plate, see Fig 5. Secure the upper wall plate

with the four (4) 5/16" lag bolts and flat washers (supplied). The wall plate must be secured to wall studs capable of supporting at least four (4) times the weight of the unit.

The distance between the two plates should end up at 9". See Fig 6.

4. MOUNT THE PLASMA TO THE WALL BRACKETS

With the upper tilt hooks on the plasma brackets in the flat position, raise the plasma display with brackets attached (2 people minimum recommended) and place the

plasma display flat against wall with the upper and lower plasma bracket attaching slots slightly higher than the steel receiving rods of the upper and lower wall plates, see

Fig 7. With the plasma reasonably level, lower the display until the display brackets receiving slots are fully installed into the upper and lower wall plate steel rods. Gently

pull the left and right upper edges of the display to extend the mount to its maximum 10° tilt and install the two 6 (mm) safety screw knobs on each mounting bracket for

security.

Note: To remove the display from the wall simply extend the display to its maximum tilt range, remove the two 6 (mm) safety screws push the display back to

its flat wall position and lift the unit up and out from the wall. See Fig 8.

5. ADJUST TENSION AND LATERAL MOVEMENT

Tension:

To adjust the tilting tension, tighten the 5 (mm) screws on both sides of the brackets. See Fig 9.

Lateral Movement:

Once the display on wall installation is complete you can still move the display from left to right or right to left to optimize the final position of the display on the wall by

gently sliding the unit on the steel rods of the wall plate. This adjustment distance will vary depending on the display model being installed. See Fig 10.
