Please note
Before you begin please check the table below to make sure that your LAN module is supported by your XGS appliance.

* Please note: For electromagnetic reasons, please only use shielded RJ45 Ethernet
cables on the indicated ports of this module.
Mounting
1. Power off the appliance and disconnect all power cables.
2. Unscrew the metal plate from the vacant slot you want to use.
3. Remove the metal plate.
4. Insert the LAN module into the open slot.
5. Tighten the screws of the LAN module.
6. Reconnect all power cables and power on the appliance.

LEDs on each Ethernet connector
For RJ45 1G/2.5G connector
ACT/LINK
(Left LED)
Green Solid 1. The Ethernet port is receiving power.
2. Good connection between the Ethernet port and hub.
Flashing The adapter is sending or receiving network data.
Off 1. The adapter and switch are not receiving power.
2. No connection between both ends of network.
3. Network drivers have not been loaded or do not function correctly.
Speed
(Right LED)
GbE ports
Amber On The Ethernet port is operating at 1,000 Mbps.
Green On The Ethernet port is operating at 100 Mbps.
Off The Ethernet port is operating at 10 Mbps.
Speed

2.5 GbE ports
Amber Blinking If Ethernet port is operating at 2,500 Mbps.
On If Ethernet port is operating at 1,000 Mbps.
Green On If Ethernet port is operating at 100 Mbps.
For SFP/1G Fiber connector
ACT/LINK*Green Solid 1. The SFP connector is receiving power.
2. Good connection between the SFP connector and hub.
Flashing The adapter is sending or receiving network data.
Off 1. The adapter and switch are not receiving power.
2. No connection between both ends of network.
3. Network drivers have not been loaded or do not function correctly.
For SFP+/10G Fiber connector
ACT/LINK
(Left LED)
Green Solid 1. The SFP+ connector is receiving power.
2. Good connection between the SFP+ connector and hub.
Flashing The adapter is sending or receiving network data.
Off 1. The adapter and switch are not receiving power.
2. No connection between both ends of network.
3. Network drivers have not been loaded or do not function correctly.
Speed**

Blue On If SFP+ connector is operating at 10,000 Mbps.
Green On The SFP+ connector is operating at 1,000 Mbps.
Off The SFP+ connector is operating at a speed below 1,000 Mbps
* On some modules there is a second LED on the right of the SFP port which is not being used.
** When using a 4xSFP+ module within XGS models 2100 or 2300 all ports will operate at the same speed.

For QSFP+/40G Fiber connector
ACT/LINK Green Solid 1. The SFP connector is receiving power.
2. Good connection between the SFP+ connector and hub.
Flashing The adapter is sending or receiving network data.
Off 1. The adapter and switch are not receiving power.
2. No connection between both ends of network.
3. Network drivers have not been loaded or do not function correctly.
Speed Blue Solid If QSFP+ connector is operating at 40 Gbps.
Off There is no connection to the QSFP+ connector.
PoE LEDs
PoE Status Green Solid Port providing power to connected device
Blinking fast*Port is denied power (e.g. connected device requesting power above max.
power capacity) or is detecting a fault on connected device.
Blinking slowly** Port has an internal hardware failure
Off Port not providing power to connected device.
PoE Load Red Blinking Total power is above the total budget.
Solid Total power consumption is above the guard band (as set by the user) but below the total budget.
Off Total power consumption is below the guard band as set by the user or system.

* The blinking behavior is an on/off cycle approx. once every 1.3 seconds.
** The blinking behavior is an on/off cycle approx. once every 2.5 seconds.

* Hinweis: Aus elektromagnetischen Gründen nutzen Sie bitte nur abgeschirmete
RJ45 Ethernet Kabel für die bezeichneten Ports bei diesen Modulen.
Montage
1. Schalten Sie die Appliance aus und trennen Sie alle
Stromkabel.
2. Schrauben Sie die Metallplatte von dem freien Slot ab, den Sie
verwenden möchten.
3. Nehmen Sie die Metallplatte ab.
4. Führen Sie das LAN-Modul in den offenen Slot ein.
5. Schrauben Sie das LAN-Modul fest.
6. Verbinden Sie alle Stromkabel und schalten Sie die Appliance
ein.

*Bei einigen Modulen befindet sich rechts vom SFP-Port eine zweite LED, die nicht genutzt wird.
** Werden 4 SFP+ Module in den XGS-Modellen 2100 oder 2300 verwendet, arbeiten alle Ports mit derselben Geschwindigkeit.

Aus 1. Adapter und Switch werden nicht mit Strom versorgt.
2. Keine Verbindung zwischen beiden Netzwerkenden.
3. Netzwerktreiber wurden nicht geladen oder funktionieren nicht richtig.

ACT/LINK Grün Konstant 1. Der SFP-Anschluss wird mit Strom versorgt.
2. Verbindung zwischen SFP+-Anschluss und Hub funktioniert.
Blinkt Der Adapter sendet oder empfängt Netzwerkdaten.
Aus 1. Adapter und Switch werden nicht mit Strom versorgt.
2. Keine Verbindung zwischen beiden Netzwerkenden.
3. Netzwerktreiber wurden nicht geladen oder funktionieren nicht richtig.
Geschwindigkeit Blau Konstant Wenn der QSFP+-Anschluss mit 40GBit/s arbeitet.
Aus Es besteht keine Verbindung zum QSFP+-Anschluss.
PoE-LEDs
PoE-Status Grün Konstant Port versorgt verbundenes Gerät
