Soundcraft Vi4 Field Manual
How to Label the desk.
•Select Channel by pressing SOLO/SEL button
•Press the top section of the screen for the channel you
wish to label
•Press the button below CH LABEL this will bring up a on
screen keyboard
•Long Label refers to the name on screen (ten characters
max)
•Short Label refers to the name on the LCD scribble strip
(six characters max)
Routing
To route to MAIN LEFT & RIGHT
•Select Channel
•Press the bottom section of the screen (of the channel you
wish to route) to open the routing pop up
•Make sure MASTER LR is switched on if it is not press the
button below it.
Setting Gain / Phantom Power
• Select channel
• Press the top section of the screen (of the channel you
wish to route)
• Turn the encoder labeled GAIN to adjust the gain
• To turn Phantom Power on press the button below +48v
• In this window you can also set the HPF and LPF as well
as pairing channels

Adding EQ
•Select Channel
•Press the second box down on the channel you wish to
change the EQ on
•Use the encoders to change the EQ parameters
•To Flatten the EQ press and hold FLAT ALL
•To turn different EQ bands on or off press the button
below IN on the relevant band
•To copy EQ settings press the COPY button under the
EDIT SECTION, Press on the EQ curve (a yellow line will
appear)
•To paste EQ settings press the PASTE button under the
EDIT SECTION, then press the EQ curve on the channel
you wish to paste the settings to.
•Press PASTE again to exit paste mode
Adding Dynamics
•Select Channel
•Press the third box down on the channel you wish
to add dynamics to, to open the dynamics pop up
•To turn on the GATE / CMP / LIM press the button
below IN for each processor (it will turn green when
on)
•Use the encoders to adjust the parameters
•To turn the Gate into a Deesser turn the encoder
below GATE / DEES
•To copy a DYNAMICS’ setting press the COPY
button under the EDIT SECTION, then press the IN
button for the processor you wish to copy
•To paste a DYNAMICS’ settings press the PASTE
button under the EDIT SECTION, then press the DYNAMICS’ box on the channel you wish to
paste the settings to.
•Press PASTE again to exit paste mode
Adding Graphic Equalisers (GEQ)
•All outputs have a GEQ
•To adjust the GEQ settings SOLO the output you wish
to adjust the GEQ setting of
•Press the GEQ icon in the middle of the screen
•This will spill the GEQ onto the channel faders
•The frequency will be displayed on the scribble strip
•To flatten a frequency press the ON button above the
relevant fader.

Adding Effects
•To add effects select the aux send you wish to feed the effects unit
with
•Press on the fifth box to open the routing pop up
•Press the button below BUS OUT
•Select LEXICON IN from the list on the right
•Choose a effect processor to feed (make sure you select Left and
Right)
•Now select the channel you wish to return the effect down.
•Press the first box on the selected channel to open the routing
window
•Pair the channel with the adjacent channel if you require stereo return
•Press the IN 1 PATCH and select the same effect unit you selected
before
•This should patched the paired channel into the effects unit too.
•To edit the effects parameters press MENU button at the top of the
desk
•Choose FX tab
•Select the effects unit you wish to edit
•To change the effect type press the button below TYPE and choose
from the list
