Warning: Do not use this cabinet to store volale or ammable materials.
Warning: Do not place combusble substances near the cabinet.
Danger: Do not place any explosive or hazardous chemicals in the cabinet.
Cauon: Be sure to check the supply power rang. This unit will operate at 100V, 120V, or 220V.
Warning: There is a risk of electric shock. The unit must be connected to ground (a typical
grounded 120-volt (US) outlet (220V EU). Do not remove the grounding pin from the
3-prong power cord or use an adapter to bypass ground.
Warning: Do not disassemble the automac unit. Risk of electric shock.
Warning: Do not handle the power cord with wet hands. It may cause electric shock.
Warning: Do not plug mulple units into a single outlet. Overloaded electrical outlet can be a
common cause of re.
Warning: Unplug the automac cabinet if there is any smoke or smell coming from it.
Do not try to repair the electric unit.
Warning: Unplug the automac cabinet in the event of liquid spills inside.
Danger of electric shock.
Warning: Do not damage, twist, pull, or place anything heavy on the power cord.
Risk of electric shock.
Cauon: Do not operate in damp areas or near water. It may cause a short-circuit or other
problems.
Cauon: Be sure to disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet when disconnecng the cord
from the cabinet.
Cauon: Unplug the power cord from the outlet when the cabinet is not in use for an extended
period.
Cauon: Do not operate with a damaged power cord or wire. It may cause re or
electric shock.
Cauon: Do not place anything on the top of the unit while it is operang.
Cauon: Do not clean with acid soluons, benzene, detergent, soapy water, hot water,
or anything sharp. It may cause scratching, cracking, or discoloraon of the cabinet.
Cauon: Rubber or plasc parts may be damaged or discolored by volale substances.
Set-up
• Unpack the cabinet and place on a stable level surface.
• Pull and remove the insulang pull tab from the back of the hygrometer to acvate.
• Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures, and moist areas.
• Do not cover or block the vent openings (boom and sides) of the automac
cabinet.
• To ensure that your items are being placed into a dry environment, we suggest
that your desiccator be allowed to operate while empty for 24 hours.

Operation
H42057-0001 Secador Desiccator Cabinet
1. Install shelves at desired height.
2. Fill the desiccant tray with desiccant or use desiccant cartridges such as SP BEL-ART DESI
CAN REUSABLE DESICCCANT CANISTERS (F42046-0000), SP BE-ART REUSABLE SILICA GEL
DESICCANT CARTRIDGES (F42049-0100), or SP BEL-ART DESICCANT CARTRIDGE BAGS
(F42045-0350, F42045-0500, or F42045-1000). Replace tray in boom of desiccator.
3. Close and latch the cabinet door and allow the unit to stabilize while empty for 24 hours.
4. Place items onto shelves and close and latch the cabinet door.
5. For maximum drying performance, minimize the amount of me that the door remains
open and replace desiccant when its color indicator changes from blue to pink.
H42057-1003 Secador Auto-Desiccator Cabinet & H42057-1004 Secador Adjustable
Auto-Desiccator Cabinet
1. Install shelves at desired height.
2. Plug the supplied power cord into the rear of the unit, then plug the power cord into a
grounded Type-B 120V wall power outlet. To use with grounded 220V wall power outlets,
such as European Type-E, plug the power cord into an appropriate plug adapter,
(not included) and plug into the grounded wall outlet.
3. For model H42057-1004 only, press “SET” on the front panel to change the humidity display
status. Use the UP/DOWN buons to adjust to the desired humidity level. Press “SET” to
save the humidity level.
4. Close and latch the cabinet door and allow the unit to stabilize by operang empty for 24
hours.
5. When powered on, a GREEN indicator light will illuminate on the front panel of the
dehumidicaon module. On model H42057-1003 only, an ORANGE indicator will illuminate
when the unit is acvely dehumidifying.
6. Place items onto shelves and close and latch the cabinet door.
7. For maximum drying performance, minimize the amount of me that the door remains
open and do not disconnect the cabinet from the electrical source.
Accessories
• The Secador Desiccator Cabinets, (H42057-0001, H42057-1003, H42057-1004) are each
supplied with 3 adjustable shelves. Addional shelves are available for purchase separately,
(F42057-1001)
• Model H42057-0001 requires the use of a desiccant to control the humidity levels within the
cabinet. The following SP Bel-Art silica gel desiccant cartridges are recommended:
o F42046-0000 SP BEL-ART DESI CAN REUSABLE 40g DESICCCANT CANISTER
o F42049-0100 SP BE-ART REUSABLE 40g SILICA GEL DESICCANT CARTRIDGE

Care and Maintenance
• To clean the cabinet, use a so cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers which will leave
scratches. We recommend the use of Aquet™ Detergent, Catalog No. F17094-0030.
• During the life of the desiccator cabinet, the baery in the hygrometer will eventually need
to be changed.
How to change the baery of Digital Hygrometer/Thermometer
The baery compartment is located on the back of the in-door hygrometer/thermometer.
Open the baery compartment by sliding the baery compartment cover to remove both
baeries. Replace both baeries with fresh baeries, (baery type LR44) and close the baery
compartment door.
Aenon
• This is not a drying machine. It is not suitable for drying wet samples.
• Do not store ammable gases or liquids inside the cabinet.
• Keep the cabinet it clear from dust, contaminaon, and a micro-parcle atmosphere.
Troubleshoong
• If this item does not operate properly, please troubleshoot before requesng a repair.
If a repair is necessary, please contact us or a distributor.
Symptom Reason or Possible Solution
Unit does not turn on
(Models H42057-1003
and H42057-1004 only)
Check that the power cord is installed and plugged in to a
power source.
Check the power source for outages.
Humidity does not get lower For model H42057-0001, ensure that there is sucient
desiccant in the cabinet and that it has not been exhausted.
Replace or regenerate the desiccant if needed.
The door may be open or not sealed properly. Close and latch
the door properly. Make sure the gasket is not damaged.
The contents of the cabinet may be emitting humidity.
Remove those items.
The vents on the automatic cabinet may be blocked.
Make sure the cabinet has space around the vents.
The cooling fan or element or the automatic cabinet may
have failed. DO NOT DISASSEMBLE and call for service.
The digital hygrometer/
thermometer does not display
The batteries may be dead. Replace the batteries.
