Description
Cast iron ball float steam trap with integral automatic air venting
facility. It is available with horizontal flanged connections as well as
vertical flanged connections.
Available types
FT43H, for horizontal installation with automatic airvent.
FT43V, for vertical installation with automativ airvent.

Sizes and pipe connections
DN 25, standard flange to DIN 2501, PN16, flange surface to DIN
2526 form C, distance between flanges to DIN3548 short.

Installation
Traps for horizontal (H) connection must be fitted in horizontal pipe
lines; traps for vertical (V) connection must be fitted in vertical pipe
lines. In any case, the trap must be fitted with the float arm in a
horizontal plane so that it rises and falls vertically; therefore the
arrow on the nameplate must point downwards. Flow of the fluid
according the arrow casted on the body.

How to specify

Optional extras
As an alternative the ball float steam traps with automatic airvent
(TV) can be supplied with an additional manually adjustable needle
valve (C) for applications where traps are subject to steam locking.
Type designation FT43-C (combined).

How to fit main valve assembly
Unscrew support, pivot frame and valve seat. Using a little jointing
paste on the thread and gasket, fit the valve seat to the body.
Attach the support frame E and pivot frame F to the body with
assembly set screws D but do not tighten.
Fit the float arm C to the pivot frame F using the pin G and, by moving
the complete assembly, centre the valve head onto the seat orifice.
Tighten the assembly set screws D.
How to fit air vent assembly (TV) 0-21 bar
Remove spring clip, element, spacer plate and unscrew seat. Screw
in new seat and assemble spacer plate and element, making sure
the 3 raised peaks on the spacer plate are facing the element.
Servicing
With suitable isolation, repairs can be carried out with the trap in the
line. When reassembling make sure that all joint faces are clean and
the dowel locates in the cover.
