The LUXARA dimmer is an intelligent, programmable device for controlling the brightness of LED light sources, halogen lamps powered by
electronic transformers and incandescent lamps. The dimmer makes it possible to change the brightness of the lighting.
1. Intended use
This product is for lighting control purposes only and: may only be installed indoors -only be operated in dry rooms, i.e. not in damp rooms or
rooms where there is a risk of dirt and in the area of high humidity -must not be exposed to strong mechanical loads or heavy soiling -may not
be operated after damp or dirty storage until after a condition check -may not be changed or modied, otherwise the operating permit and
conformity will expire with immediate eect! It is not allowed to remove the type plate.
 If the aforementioned points are not observed, a short circuit or electric shock may occur! There is danger to life!
2. General safety instructions
 The complete installation may only be carried out by an authorized electrician who is familiar with the applicable guidelines. Hereinafter
referred to as „qualied electrician“.
For safe handling of the product, the user must have read and understood the installation/operating instructions completely before using
the device for the rst time.
 The product may only be used if it is alright. If the device or parts of it are defective, it must be repaired by a qualied electrician.
This product is not a toy and is not allowed be stored or used within the reach of children.
Safe operation of the product is only guaranteed if these instructions are followed. Therefore, keep these assembly/operating instructions.
SSC-LUXon GmbH accepts no liability if the instructions given here are not followed or the lamp is subjected to improper use.
3. Assembly & conguration
 Caution: The connecting cable must be disconnected from the power supply before starting work (switch o the main switch/fuse)!
 Only use parts which are supplied with the product or which are clearly marked as equipment! Otherwise the product may not be sucient-
ly safe!
 The cable routing shown in the illustrations is for simplied purposes only. They in no way represent a recommendation for connection! The
connection may only be carried out by a qualied electrician.
When drilling, pay attention to cables and gas and water lines.
4. Operation, faults & disorders
Caution: Danger to life! Repairs to the product or work on live parts may only be carried out by qualied electricians.
In case of an error, the device must be switched o immediately. The product may only be operated if it works correctly. The device may only
be put back into operation after it has been checked by a qualied electrician! This is the case if:
1. there is visible damage, 2. the product is not working corrctly, 3. there is smoke, steam, or audible crackling noises, 4. overheating can be
detected
Thermal overload protection / overheating: Operation at increased temperatures or voltages can cause the thermal protection circuit to
activate. In this case, reduce the connected load to avoid a new overload.
 Built-in short-circuit protection: After activating the short-circuit protection, the dimmer interrupts operation for about 5 seconds and then
switches on again. If a remaining short circuit or overcurrent is detected, the dimmer will interrupt operation until the power supply to the
dimmer is disconnected and the dimmer is reset to normal operation. In this case, please have the circuit checked by an authorised electrician.
5. Cleaning & care instructions
The product may only be wiped dry or carefully with a slightly damp and lint-free cloth. The product is not allowed to be removed for this
purpose. Do not use abrasive or sharp objects or aggressive cleaning agents. Do not use solvents.

Dimmable LED lamps with compatible electronic transformer

Suitable for phase cut-o or phase angle control. Minimum load 3W capacitive or resistive load, such as dimmable LED lighting, incandescent
lamps, MV halogen or NV halogen lighting with electronic transformers.
Installation – assembly steps
Installation – connection plan

1. The connection line must be disconnected from the power supply before starting
work.
2. Connect the dimmer according to the wiring diagram.
3. Insert the dimmer into the ush-mounted box and tighten the screws so that the
expanding clips can grip.
4. Ret the switch plate to the wall and place the dimmer knob on the shaft.
5. Switch the power back on. Press ON and dim with the rotary knob.
Compatibility & compatible Loads
TEauto mode (phase section) – This mode is preset ex works
Standard lament lamps or high-voltage halogen
Low-voltage halogen lamps with electronic transformer
LE mode (phase angle) – This mode must be set manually
Low-voltage halogen lamps with magnetic transformer

Conguration – setting the minimum brightness
1. Remove the front cover, switch on the lamps (press the pin once).
2. Press the „Options button“ (see picture) 7 times in quick succession.
3. The lights now light up 3 times – you are now in minimum bright-
ness setting mode.
4. Turn the rotary knob / pin to set the desired minimum brightness.
5. Press the „Options button“ 5 times to save the setting.
6. The lights light up 3 times briey, conrming that the setting was
successful.
 Important: The setting must be made within 10 seconds. If it takes
longer, the programme aborts without saving.
Conguration – switching between phase section & phase angle
 Important: The dimmer is delivered from the factory in TEauto mode (phase section), which is the correct mode for most LED lights.
Please check beforehand in the list „Compatibility & Compatible Loads“ which mode is the right one for your lights.
Switching between LE mode (phase angle) and TEauto mode (phase section)
1. Remove the front cover, switch on the lamps (press the pin once).
2. Set the brightness to the maximum level.
3. Press and hold the „Options button“ (see picture) briey for 3 times until the light changes to the minimum brightness.
4. The light ashes three times – The mode has been changed successfully
NOTE: When connecting to iron-core transformers or motor loads, only LE mode (phase angle control) can be used.
TEauto mode must not be used in this case. See „Compatibility & Compatible Loads“ list
