1. General
RepeatOne® is a hand-held device for repetitive pipettings.
Up to 48 pipettings of the same sample can be made from
a single filling, resulting in a considerable reduction in time
and expense.
RepeatOne® allows the selection of five separate volumes
from each TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip. Eight different
TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip sizes provide the most
important volumes from 2 to 5000 µl.
Use only original STARLAB TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tips
to guarantee the pipette’s performance.
1.1. Design Principle of RepeatOne® ( Fig.1)
Volume selection dial
To determine the pipetting volume, the dial setting
(1–5) is multiplied by the minimum pipetting volume
of the TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip.
Pipetting lever
The volume is dispensed by pressing the pipetting
lever down until it stops.
Filling lever
The TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip is filled by sliding
this lever upward.
Locking clamp
The locking clamp secures the TipOne® Repeat
Dispenser Tip firmly into RepeatOne®.

2.1. TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tips
The minimum pipetting volume and the maximum
filling capacity is stated on each TipOne® Repeat
Dispenser Tips (Fig. 2). The scale facilitates drawing off
partial quantities and helps you to estimate the amount
of liquid still available for operation.
The volume to be pipetted is obtained by multiplying
the set number located on the volume selection dial by
the minimum pipetting volume of the TipOne® Repeat
Dispenser Tips.
Eg. 1.0 ml TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tips, Minimum volume:
1=20 µl at setting 4: 4 x 20 µl = pipetted volume: 80 µl
Better precision is achieved by using a TipOne® Repeat
Dispenser Tips of small capacity with a high dial setting.

narrow-necked vessels
or piercing of sealing foil
and also makes dispensing
of small volumes more
precise.
•Immerse the tip into the
liquid.
•Fill by slowly sliding the
filling lever upward
(Fig. 6).
•Discard the first
pipetting step.
RepeatOne® is now ready
for operation.

8· RepeatOne · User Manual
Additional Information
Sliding the filling lever too quickly can cause excessive
vacuum. This can cause tiny air bubbles to accumulate in
the liquid which may lead to dispensing inaccuracies.
Important: The first dispensing step must be discarded in
order to release any residual pressure from the dispensing
system after filling and to prepare the system for precise
dispensing.
Small bubbles in the TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip be-
neath the piston will not affect dispensing accuracy since
the residual stroke lock prevents the dispensing of any
remaining sample after the last dispense.
It is not necessary to completely fill the TipOne® Repeat
Dispenser Tip. Partially filling will not cause pipetting
inaccuracies.
3.3. Dispensing (Fig. 7)
•Check the volume
selection dial.
•Wipe the tip of the
TipOne® Repeat
Dispenser Tip with
lint-free tissue.
•Hold the dispensing tip
so it touches the inner
wall of the vessel.
•Dispense the liquid by
completely depressing
the dispensing lever.
Additional Information
Dispensing with a 5.0 ml or 10 ml TipOne® Repeat
Dispenser Tip is normally carried out without attaching
a pipette tip. Never attach a standard tip when working
with the 25 ml and 50 ml TipOne® Repeat tips.
A new TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip must be used each
time to avoid carry-over and contamination.
Fig. 7

3.4. Removing TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tips (Fig. 8)
•Hold RepeatOne® over a beaker.
•Slowly depress the filling lever down to the stop.
This will completely empty the TipOne® Repeat
Dispenser Tip.
•Raise the locking clamp upward.
•Remove the TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip.
Note: When using the 25 ml or 50 ml TipOne® Repeat
Dispenser Tips, the reusable adapter is removed by turning
it counter clockwise.
Fig. 8
4. Safety Precautions and Operational Limitations
When removing TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tips, please
note the following:
•Do not touch the tip end, especially when using
hazardous reagents!
•Empty the dispenser tips into a proper discard receptacle
to avoid splashing and aerosols.
•Treat any retained fluid as a bio-hazard. Do not allow the
fluid to come into contact with laboratory personnel.
•If dispensing a liquid with a surface tension significantly
different from water, inaccuracies or leaking can occur.
•The RepeatOne® with an attached, partially filled
TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip should be stored in a
stand to prevent air entering the dispenser tip.

5. Troubleshooting
Error Cause Solution
TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip cannot be inserted. Filling lever not fully in the down position;
therefore, locking clamp cannot be completely raised. Depress the filling lever downward and raise the locking clamp as far as it
will go.
The dispenser tip piston is not completely inserted in the barrel. Slide the piston into the proper position.
Unable to fully lift the filling lever. Locking clamp incompletely depressed. Completely depress the locking clamp.
Excessive air bubbles when filling the TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip. Filling lever lifted slightly before immersing into the liquid. Draw up some solution and then discard it (using filling lever).
Then refill the TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip.
Leaking of TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip. Replace the dispenser tip with a new one.
Inconsistent pipetting. Volume selection dial has not clicked into position. Click volume selection dial into position.
Dripping TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip. Leaking TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip. Replace with a new dispenser tip.
Attached TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip is loose. Use more force to attach the TipOne® Repeat Dispenser Tip.
RepeatOne® jams or does not function. Return the RepeatOne® for repair or replacement.

1. Einführung
RepeatOne® ist ein Handdispenser für Seriendosierungen.
Eine größere Reagenzmenge kann in einem Arbeitsgang
aufgenommen und schrittweise in schneller Folge wieder
abgegeben werden. Daraus ergibt sich eine beträchtliche
Reduzierung des Arbeitsaufwandes.
Mit 5 Hubeinteilungen und 8 verschiedenen TipOne®
Repeat Dispenserspitzen Größen werden mit RepeatOne®
die wichtigsten Volumina im Bereich von 2 – 5000 µl
dosiert.

z.B. TipOne® Repeat 1,0 ml, 1= 20 µl, Einstellung 4 =

(Abb. 6).
•Ersten Dosierschritt abgeben und verwerfen.
Jetzt ist RepeatOne® arbeitsbereit.

Zusatzinformationen

erfolgt normalerweise ohne Spitze. TipOne® Repeat 25 ml
und 50 ml müssen ohne Spitze dosiert werden.
Beim Wechsel des Reagenzes ist TipOne® Repeat auszu-
tauschen.
