person l com puter. It supports the IB M /E pson printer com m nds nd
ch r cter sets, en bling it to print just bou t nything your com puter c n

LOCATING THE PRINTER

HI 1TING UP
Mount the platen knob
I lie pl ten knob is p cked into recess o f the white fo m p cking
n i ii I «• riul which held your printer inside the p cking box. Be c reful to remove
ill' knob before disposing o f the p cking.
M ount the pl ten knob on its sh ft on the right side o f the printer. Turn
it until you c n push it in ll the w y.

ih* front edge dow n until the cover is closed.

Connect the printer's power cord
Check th t the printer’s powci switch (loc ted t the left front) is O FF.
Then plug the printer’s power cold into n A (' w ll outlet.
Never plug or unplug the powri cord while tin p u n tri is turned on.
LOADING SINGLE SHEETS

Mount the paper guide
The p per guide fits into the two holes on top o f the te t rover. M ount
the guide nd r ise it to the upright position.

Unmiautomatic loading

Pl ce single sheet on the p per guide nd insert it down into the entry
slot. Y ou will feel slight resist nce s the p per eng ges the p per
detector lever. W ork the p per p st this resist nce nd insert it down
itN f r s it will go.
' Move the b il lever forw rd. W hen the b il opens, the printer feeds
the p per utom tic lly.
I Move the b il lever b ck. The p per will feed slightly forw rd g in,
ending in position to print with top m rgin o f bout one inch.

Manual loading
It is lso possible to lo d p pci m nu lly while the printer’s pow er is
off. The procedure is:
1. C heck th t printer power is oH iul the rele se levci t the b ck of the
printer is down.
2. Insert single sheet of p per into the entry slot s l i s it will go, the
s me w y s for sem i utom tic lo ding
3. M ove the b il lever on top of the printer forw rd to open (he p per
b il.
4. T urn the pl ten knob clockwise until the front edge of the p per comes
out from under the top cover.
5. If the p per is not str ight, move the rele se lever to the up position,
str ighten the p per by h nd, then move the rele se levci b ck dow n.
6. Move the b il lever b ck to close the p per b il.
