Thank youfor buying the SDQM-2130 MPEG-2 SD Encoder
Modulator Combo. Please read this manual carefully before
Installing. Tomaintain the best performance of the SDQM,
keep this manual at hand for future reference.

SAFETY
INSTRUCTION
All the safety and operating instructions should be read
before the product is operated. For safety purposes, all
instructions must be adhered

Cleaning
Unplug the unit from the rack before cleaning. Do not
use
liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use adamp cloth.
Attachments
Do not use attachments that are not recommended by
the manufacturer
as they can cause hazards.

Mounting
Ensure the unit is rack mounted securely on the wall or in the
19’’ cabinet as not to cause harm to anyone or to damage
the product by being dislodged.
Power

Power-supply cords should be routed so they are not
pinched or placed where they could cause atrip hazard.
Ventilation
Slots and openings in the housing are provided for ventilation
to prevent overheating and ensure reliable operation.These
openings should never be blocked or covered by
placing the unit on acarpet, flooring, furniture or fabric
surface. The unit should not be placed in abuilt-in
structure such as acupboard or rack unless proper
ventilation is
provided.
Power
source
This unit should only be operated from the type of power
source indicated in the technical specifications (page 3of this
manual).
Lightning
For added protection; unplug the unit from the wall
when left unattended or unused for long periods of time and
disconnect the cable system. This will protect the product
from lightning strikes or power surges.
Object
and
liquid
entry
Never push objects of any kind into this product through
openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or
short-out a part that could result in afire or electric shock.
Never spill liquid of any kind on the unit.
Servicing
Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or
removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or
other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service person-
nel.
Damage

Unplug this unit from the wall or the cabinet and return it to
the qualified service personnel for sevicing
if any of the
following occurs:
-The power supply cord or plug is damaged.
-Liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the unit.
-The unit has been exposed to rain or water.
-If the unit has been dropped or damaged in anyway.
Heat
The unit should be positioned away from any heat source such as

Manual Operation
To enter the Menu in manual mode, use this sequence of key strokes:
Key strokes = Press UP arrow, DO N arrow, and OK. Do this two
times! OUP should appear.
To navi ate throu h the menu manually, refer to System LED Function
Outline On p s. #4,5, & 6, alon with the Navi ational Flowchart on p . #7
NOTE: In manual operation, you must select esc to save and exit

blinkin L.E.D.'s and confirm output channel number selection. Subsequently, OUL will be displayed
in the Output display. Continue to next step.

level between (+15 to +30 dBmV). The factory default is 30. Press OK to access display's blinkin
L.E.D.'s. Use the UP or Down buttons to chan e or set the Level on the blinkin display. Press OK to
stop the blinkin L.E.D.'s and confirm the Output level selection. Subsequently, (CON) Constellation
will be displayed in the Output L.E.D.'s display. Continue to the next step.

IP3
This is the third part of the IP address or IP3, Press OK to read the third number of the IP3 network
address. Press OK to continue to the fourth part of the IP address or IP4.
IP4
You are now in the fourth part of the IP address or IP4, Press OK to read the fourth number of the
IP4 network address. Press OK finish readin the four parts of the IP network address detected by
the modulator or processor. Finally, you will be back to OUP mode.

the static IP address of 192.168.1.168. If you have more than one modulator you will be required to
chan e them into the correct ran e from (192.168.1.1) to 192.168.1.254) with the net mask of
(255.255.255.0) Make sure if you are usin a switch or router, that you have not assi ned any
duplicate addresses to avoid any conflicts. Press OK to next section IP1.
IP1
This is
the first part of the STATIC IP address or IP1, Pressin OK one time to read the first number of
the IP1 network address then OK a second time to make chan es, Use the UP or Down buttons to
make chan es. Finally press OK to proceed to next section IP2. Note: Blinkin allows you to make
chan es.
IP2
This is
the second part of the STATIC IP address or IP2, Pressin OK one time to read the second
number of the IP2 network address then OK a second time to make chan es, Use the UP or Down
buttons to make chan es. Finally press OK to proceed to next section IP3. Note: Blinkin allows you
to make chan es.
IP3
This is
the third part of the STATIC IP address or IP3, Pressin OK one time to read the third number
of the IP3 network address then OK a second time to make chan es, or Use the UP or Down buttons
to make chan es. Finally OK to proceed to next section IP4. Note: Blinkin allows you to make
chan es.
IP4
This is
the fourth part of the STATIC IP address or IP4, Pressin OK one time to read the first number
of the IP4 network address then OK a second time to make chan es, Use the UP or Down buttons to
chan e or set to y or n. Note: Blinkin display allows you to make chan es.

This is the final section of your new IP address you have entered manually, Use the UP or Down
buttons to chan e or set to y or n. y means to save and n means to cancel any chan es. Finally, press
OK to confirm the save or cancel the chan es for the IP address. Press Up arrow then press OK to

Factory defaulted to ATSC.

will continue to CON (constellation)

Internet> Network and Sharing Center
STEP 3
- Click on “Local area network” and select Properties
STEP 4- Select and click on 4 TCP/IPv4 then click on Properties
STEP 5- Select mode: DHCP or STATIC. Refer to diagram (1.c)
for STATIC MODE: Enter Subnet mask 255 . 255 . 255 . 0
for STATIC MODE enter default IP adress 192.168.1.

cause conflict.

number In order to communicate.
NOTE:
If you are usin DHCP, the switch will automaticly

Ethernet
Connection
The web browser allows the user to fullyconfigure the SB-HDQP unit
via an Ethernet connection and a web browser.
A. Connect the PC to the LAN port of the SB-HDQP-2130unit.
B. The configuration process must be made acording to
instructions on page 8 of this manual. You will be able toaccess the
unit from any PC.
C.
Launch the web browser. Enter the IP address in the address bar
and then hit Enter. “System Login” will appear. Enter the default
password to Login.
System Login
Enter the default password ‘1234’ to Login.
Note: Password can be changed after logged in under “System Parameters” tab.
RF Parameters
User can edit the parameters such as Country, Frequency, Output Level etc.

Stream Parameters
User can edit the Swap VCN (Virtual Channel Name) in ‘Stream Parameters’.
Note:
Some TV models might required a complete channel re-scan in order to see the change.
System Parameters
User can reset the system or retrieve inventory.
The “Set Password” configuration enables user to change the current password.
