Installation
1. Prior to assembling the Rack Cabinet, make sure that the
Front Frame and Rear Frame are right side up. The bottom
of the Front and Rear Frames has holes for oor mounting
brackets and casters.

2. Separate the Adjustment Arms into pairs (one wide and
one narrow arm per pair). You will have four pairs of arms,
two to connect the top of the Frames together and two to
connect the bottom of the Frames together.

Note: The narrow arms that connect the bottom of the
frames can be identied by the pre-mounted riveted nuts on
the inside of the arms.

3. On the Adjustment Arms, insert the Cage Nuts (at least 2
per Adjustment Arm) into the Cage Nut holes.
Note: It is recommended that you install several cage nuts on
each arm to allow for future depth adjustments.
4. Determine the desired mounting depth of your Rack
Cabinet.
5. Align the Cage Nuts on the narrow Adjustment Arm with
the Mounting Holes on the wide Adjustment Arm.
6. Insert the two M5x15 Truss Screws through the Mounting
Holes on the wide Adjustment Arm and into the Cage Nuts
on the narrow Adjustment Arm.

Note: the wide Adjustment Arm should be the outer arm
and the narrow Adjustment Arm should t inside of the
wider Adjustment Arm.
7. Repeat Steps 5 - 6 to assemble the remaining 3 Adjustment
Arm Assemblies.
8. Align the Adjustment Arms Assembly with the Mounting
Holes on the Front Frame.
Note: For stability, StarTech.com recommends that you have
use at least two screws to secure the rack arms.
9. Insert two M5x15 Truss Head Screws through the frame
and into the Adjustment Arm Assembly.

10. Using the Phillips Head Screwdriver, tighten the M5x15
Truss Head Screws being careful not to over-tighten.

11. Repeat steps 8 - 10 to connect the bottom Adjustment Arm
Assemblies to the Front and Rear Frames.

12. Align the Floor Mounting Bracket (L-shaped bracket) with
the Mounting Holes on the bottom of the Frame.
13. Insert the M8x25 Hex Screws (4 per bracket) through the
Floor Mounting Bracket and into the Mounting Holes on
the Frame.

14. Repeat steps 12 - 13 to connect the other Floor Mounting
Bracket to the Rear Frame.
15. Align the Screw Holes on one of the Floor Plates (with two
aps) with the Screw Holes on the lower Adjustment Arm
Assembly.
16. Insert two M5x15 Truss Screws through the Floor Plate and
into the lower Adjustment Arm Assembly.

17. Align the Screw Holes on the second Floor Plate (with one
ap) with the Screw Holes on the lower Adjustment Arm
Assembly.
Note: The second Floor Plate will overlap the rst Floor
Plate.

18. Insert two M5x15 Truss Screws through the Floor Plate and
into the lower Adjustment Arm Assembly.
Using the Bushing Caps
The Rack Cabinet comes with a set of 16 Bushing Caps. The
Bushing Caps can be used to hide the 8 M5x15 Truss Screws
used to assemble the Adjustment Arms to the Front and Rear
Frames. Using the Bushing Caps will create a more unied
nish.
1. Align the Bushing Caps with each of the Screw Heads
on the M5x15 Truss Screws (x 8) used to assembly the
Adjustment Arms to the Front and Rear Frames.
2. Gentle push the Bushing Caps into the Screw Head.
Mounting Equipment in the Rack
Note: When installing equipment in the Rack Cabinet. Start
at the bottom of the Rack Cabinet with the heaviest equip-
ment and work your way to the top.
1. Determine the U-space of your equipment and where in the
Rack Cabinet you want to install the Devices.
2. Apply pressure to both sides of the Cage Nut and insert the
Cage Nut Clamps into the Cage Nut Hole and release the
Cage Nut.
- or -
Use a Cage Nut Wrench to install the Cage Nuts into the
Rack Cabinet.
3. Use the M5 Screws to secure the Devices in place.

4. If your Device has mounting brackets with hooks, just hook
the bracket in the desired location.
Optional Installation
Securing the Rack Cabinet to a Flat Surface
You can use four Bolts (sold separately) to secure the Rack
Cabinet to the ground.
Note: Pilot holes may need to be drilled in the surface you are
securing the Rack Cabinet to prior to installation.
• Insert four Bolts through the Floor Plate Bolt Holes and into
the surface you are securing the Rack Cabinet to.

Installing Casters
You can install Casters (sold separately) on the bottom of the
Rack Cabinet.
Note: Before installing Casters you will need to lay the Rack
Cabinet on it’s side. Please ensure that all equipment is
removed and the Rack Cabinet is empty before attempting
to install the Casters.
1. Align the Mounting Holes on the Caster with the Caster
Holes on the bottom of the Rack Frame.

2. Insert a Caster Screw through the Caster Mounting Hole
and into the Caster Holes on the bottom of the Frame.

3. Repeat steps 1 - 2 for the remaining Caster Screws.
