Before using your new ceramic hob
• Readthisguide,takingspecialnoteofsafetywarningssection
• Removeanyprotectivelmthatmaystillbeonyourceramichob
Using the touch controls
• Thecontrolsrespondtotouch,soyoudon’tneedtoapplyanypressure
• Usetheballofyournger,notitstip
• Youwillhearabeepeachtimeatouchisregistered
• Makesurethecontrolsarealwaysclean,dryandthatthereisnoobject(e.g.utensilor
acloth)coveringthem.Evenathinlmofwatercanmakethecontrolsdifculttooperate.

Alwaysliftpansofftheceramichob-donotslide,ortheyscratchtheglass.
Using your ceramic hob
To start cooking
Afterpowerison,thebuzzerbeepsonce,alltheindicatorslightupfor1secondthengoout,
indicatingthattheceramichobhasenteredthestateofstandbymode.
1.TouchtheON/OFFcontrol.Alltheindicatorsshow“-”
2.Placeasuitablepanonthecookingzonethatyouwishtouse.
Makesurethebottomofthepanandthesurfaceofthecooking
zonearecleananddry
3.Selectaheatsettingbytouchingthe“-”or“+”control.
Ifyoudon’tchooseaheatsettingwithin1minute,theceramic
hobwillautomaticallyswitchoff.Youwillneedtostartagainat
step1.
Youcanmodifytheheatsettingatanytimeduringcooking.

When you have nished cooking-
1.Turnthecookingzoneoffbyscrollingdownto“0”ortouching“-”and“+”controltogether
2.TurnthewholecooktopoffbytouchingtheON/OFFcontrol.
3.Bewareofhotsurfaces
“H”willshowcookingzoneishottotouch.Itwilldisappearwhenthesurfacehascooled
downtoasafetemperature.Itcanalsobeusedasanenergysavingfunctionifyouwantto
heatfurtherpans,usethehotplatethatisstillhot.
Locking the controls
• Youcanlockthecontrolstopreventunintendeduse(forexamplechildrenaccidentally
turningthecookingzoneson)
• Whenthecontrolsarelocked,allthecontrolsexcepttheON/OFFcontrolaredisabled.
To lock the controls-
Touchthekeylockcontrol.Thetimerindicatorwillshow“LO”
To unlock the controls-
1.Makesuretheceramichobisturnedon
2.Touchandholdthekeylockcontrolforawhile
3.Youcannowstartusingyourceramichob
When the hob is in the lock mode, all the controls are disabled except the ON/OFF,
you can always turn the ceramic hob off with the ON/OFF control in an emergency,
but you shall unlock the hob rst in the next operation.

Over-temperature protection-
Atemperaturesensormonitorsthetemperatureinsidetheceramichob.Whenanexcessive
temperatureismonitored,theceramichobwillstopoperationautomatically.
Residual heat warning-
Whenthehobhasbeenoperatingforsometime,therewillbesomeresidualheat.Theletter“H”
appearstowarnyoutokeepawayfromit.
Auto shutdown-
Anothersafetyfeatureofthehobisautoshutdown.Thisoccurswheneveryouforgettoswitch
offacookingzone.Thedefaultshutdowntimesareshowninthetablebelow-
Using the Timer-
Youcanusethetimerin2differentways:
• Youcanuseitasaminuteminder.Inthiscase,thetimerwillnotturnanycookingzone
offwhenthesetuptimeisup
• Youcansetittoturnonecookingzoneoffafterthesettimeisup
• Youcansetthetimerforupto99minutes
Using the timer as a minute minder-
If you are not selecting any cooking zone
1.Makesurethecooktopisturnedon.Note:youcanusetheminuteminderevenifyou’renot
selectinganycookingzones.
2.Touchthe“-”or“+”controlsofthetimer,theminuteminderindicatorwillash
3.Adjustthetimersettingbytouchingthe“-”or“+”controls.
Theminuteminderindicatorwillstartashingandwill
showinthetimerdisplay.
Hint:Touchthe“-”or“+”controlofthetimeroncetodecreaseorincreaseby1minute.

4.Touchingthe“-”and“+”together,thetimeriscancelledand“--”willshowinthe
minutedisplay.
5.Whenthetimeisset,itwillbegintocountdownimmediately.
Thedisplaywillshowtheremainingtimeandthetimerindicatorwill
ashfor5seconds.
6.Buzzerwillbeepfor30secondsandthetimerindicatorshows“--”
whenthesettingtimenishes.
Setting the timer to turn one cooking zone off-
1.Touchingtheheatingzoneselectioncontrolyouwanttoset
thetimefor
2.Setthetimebytouchingthe“-”or“+”controlofthetimer
HINT: Touchthe–or+controlofthetimeroncewilldecreaseor
increaseby1minute.
Touchandholddownthe–or+controlofthetimeranditwilldecrease
orincreaseby10minutes.
Ifthesettingtimeexceeds99minutes,thetimerwillautomaticallyreturnto0minute.
3.Touchingthe“-”and“+”together,thetimerincancelled,
andthedisplaywillshow“--”intheminutedisplay.

4.Whenthetimeisset,itwillbegintocountdownimmediately.
Thedisplaywillshowtheremainingtimeandthetimer
indicatorashesfor5seconds.
Note:Thereddotnexttopowerlevelindicatorwillilluminate
indicatingthatthezoneisselected.
5.Whencookingtimerexpires,thecorrespondingcookingzone
willbeswitchedoffautomatically.
Note:Ifyouwanttochangethetimeafterthetimerisset,
youhavetostartfromstep1.
Cooking guidelines-
Takecarewhenfryingastheoilandfatheatupveryquickly,particularlyifyou’reusing
powerboost.Atextremelyhightemperaturesoilandfatwillignitespontaneouslyandthis
presentsaseriousrerisk.
Cooking tips-
• Whenfoodcomestotheboil,reducethetemperaturesetting.
• Usingalidwillreducecookingtimesandsaveenergybyretainingtheheat
• Minimisetheamountofliquidorfattoreducecookingtimes
• Startcookingonahighsettingandreducethesettingwhenthefoodhasheatedthrough.
Simmering, cooking rice-
• Simmeringoccursbelowboilingpoint,ataround85°C,whenbubblesarejustrising
occasionallytothesurfaceofthecookingliquid.Itisthekeytodelicioussoupsandtender
stewsbecausetheavoursdevelopwithoutovercookingthefood.Youshouldalsocook
egg-basedandourthickenedsaucesbelowboilingpoint.
• Sometasks,includingcookingricebytheabsorptionmethod,mayrequireasettinghigher
thanthelowestsettingtoensurethefoodiscookedproperlyinthetimerecommended.
Searing steak-
To cook juicy avoursome steaks:
1.Standthemeatatroomtemperatureforabout20minutesbeforecooking
2.Heatupaheavy-basedfryingpan
3.Brushbothsidesifthesteakwithoil.Drizzleasmallamountofoilintothehotpanand
thenlowerthemeatontoit.
4.Turnthesteakonlyoneduringcooking.Theexactcookingtimewilldependonthethickness
ofthesteakandhowcookedyouwantit.Timesmayvaryfromabout2-8minutesperside.
Pressthesteaktogaugehowcookeditis-thermeritfeelsthemore‘welldone’itwillbe.

5.Leavethesteaktorestonawarmplateforafewminutestoallowittorelaxandbecome
tenderbeforeserving.
For stir-frying-
1.Chooseaceramiccompatibleat-basedwokoralargefryingpan.
2.Havealltheingredientsandequipmentready.Stir-fryingshouldbequick.Ifcookinginlarge
quantities,cookthefoodinseveralsmallerbatches.
3.Preheatthepanbrieyandadd2tablespoonsofoil.
4.Cookanymeatrst,putitasideandkeepwarm
5.Stir-frythevegetables.Whentheyarehotbutstillcrisp,turnthecookingzonetoalower
setting,returnthemeattothepanandaddyoursauce.
6.Stirtheingredientsgentlytomakesuretheyareheatedthrough.
7.Serveimmediately

Theunitshouldbeplacedonastable,smoothsurface(usethepackaging).Donotapplyforce
ontothecontrolsprotrudingfromthehob.Fixthehobontheworksurfacebyscrewing4
bracketsonthebottomofthehob(seepicture)afterinstallation.
Adjustthebracketpositiontosuitfordifferentworksurface’sthickness.
