stefani Triple Undersink User manual

IMPORTANT: Installation must comply with existing State or Local Plumbing codes. Some Plumbing
Codes require installation of this filter system to be carried out by a Licensed Plumber.
In some areas, the water pressure may exceed the system’s maximum pressure allowance. If this is
the case, a pressure limiting valve will be required. Please check with your Lincensed Plumber during
installation.
CAUTION: The Triple Undersink water filtration system should only be used on water that is
microbiologically safe- that is, water that has been adequately chlorinated or disinfected. Additional
sterilising equipment will be required for unsafe water.
The Stefani Triple Undersink water filtration system is designed to operate at a maximum pressure of
862kPa (125psi); minimum pressure of 69kPa (10psi) and at a maximum temperature of 40 degree
Celsius. Stefani warrants this filter to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period
of two years * from the date of purchase (* Warranty period excludes filter cartridges which are
consumable items).
RECOMMENDATION: If the undersink water filtration system has not been used for 2 or more days,
you will need to flush 5 to 10 litres of water through the system before using the water. If the unit is to
be left unused for more than 2 days, the water supply valve must be turned off.
Slower flow rate gives longer contact times for better contaminant reduction.
To maintain a high level of performance and protection provided by the STEFANI water filtration
system, use only STEFANI replacement filter cartridges.
HELPFUL HINT: The life and performance of filter cartridges may vary, depending on volume and
quality of water being filtered. An indication, that your filter cartridges may need replacing is the
reduced volume or flow from filter faucet, or the return of offensive taste and/or odour to filtered water.
We recommend you continue to check for leaks for a day after installation.
Please note our warranty requires proof of installation by a licensed plumber including comfirmation
of water pressure testing and results.

Installing with an existing mixer tap or dishwasher tap
1. Turn the main water supply off.
2. Locate the cold water supply to your kitchen sink tap or dishwasher tap
3. Disconnect the flexible hose from the mixer or dishwasher tap (the use of a
flexible hose which complies with Australian Standards is recommended).
4. Use the teflon plumbers tape provided to wrap around the male ends of the
shut off connection valve and the cold water supply or dishwasher tap,
winding in a clockwise direction 3 or 4 times
5. Fit the shut off connection valve to the flex hose and the mains water supply.
6. Ensure the valve is in the “OFF” position and turn the mains water on to
check for any leaks on this part of the installation. If no leaks occur, turn the
mains water back off until ready to test the final installation. If leaks occur,
remove the mains shut off valve and re tape and refit and recheck for leaks
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS - STEP 1
The Triple Undersink Water Filtration System can be fixed in 2 different ways below are the
options:
To find the right location, you require at least 400mm in height and sufficient access to
change the filter cartridge as required on a regular basis. Avoid areas of high use to
reduce the risk of hitting the housing or connections that may result in breakage or leaking

Filter housing assembly
1. Fit the mounting manifold to a suitable position using the phillips head screws
provided.
2. Remove the plastic wrap from the around the filter cartridges before placing it into the
housing
3. Screw the filter housing onto the manifold in a clockwise direction to the end stop. Use
the wrench provided and ensure the depth gauge washer cannot fit into the gap as
shown on the instructions attached to the wrench.

Important notes on1/4 inch tubing:
•When cutting the ¼ inch tubing, ensure the cuts are square and clean, other
wise leaking may occur
•When connecting the tube to the quick connect system, ensure you push the
tube all the way to the end, and pull slightly to seal the connection
•To Disconnect, push the tubing in, press and hold collar against fitting, pull tube
out of fitting.

4. Cut a length of tube approximately 200mm long and connect one end to the mains
connection shut off valve and the other end to the inlet of the pressure limitng valve –
please ensure you check the flow direction is correct, otherwise water flow will be
restricted.
5. Cut the next length of tubing to the required length to reach from the outflow of the
pressure limiting valve to the inlet of the filter housing, leaving enough flex so it is not
rigid tight, and so it can be tucked neatly out of the way. Please ensure you have
connected to the IN side of the filter housing.
6. Use the remaining tube to connect from the outlet of the housing to the faucet, cut to
length if required

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS STEP 3
MOUNTING THE FAUCET
1. Remove the locking nut from the faucet shaft.
2. Place Small Rubber Washer, Chrome Cover Plate and Large Rubber Washer on the
shaft of faucet. Insert faucet shaft into the hole on the counter/sink top.
3. Place Round Plate and Locking Washer on under counter/sink side of the faucet
shaft. Tighten with Locking Nut and ensure faucet handle is pointing in the desired
direction.
4. Insert the ¼ inch connection piece onto the shaft of the faucet and push in until it
fully stops, pull slightly to seal the connection
5. Insert the ¼ inch tubing from the outlet of the filter housing into the connection piece
until it fully stops, pull slightly to seal the connection.
6. Turn on the water supply and allow the water to run for 10 minutes before enjoying
fresh water from your purification system every day.
7. Check thoroughly for any leaks

FINISHED INSTALLATION
REPLACING FILTER CARTRIDGES
It is recommended to only use Stefani water filter cartridges with this filtration system. This
will ensure optimum performance, protection from contaminates and compliance with the
warranty.
Product code to look out for replacement filters are
PP-0510 Sediment filter (stage 1 next housing inlet)
110 Granular Carbon filter (Stage 2 in centre of housing)
102 Carbon Block filter (Stage 3 next to housing outlet)
1. Turn off water supply to filter system - this can be achieved by turning the ball valve of the
mains connection valve (as shown in the installation drawings) clockwise until it will not
turn any further. Test water supply is off by opening the faucet to check if water has
stopped running.
If water does not flow from faucet when the faucet is opened, water is turned off.
2. Unscrew filter housing from system by turning to the left (looking at front view of system).

10
CAUTION !
Please use this metal piece as a guage to varify if the
IN
Metal piece fits here
Must be on IN side
Housing side
3. Remove and discard filter cartridge.
4. Do not use abrasive cleanr, rinse thoroughtly.
5. Remove plastic wrapping from the new filter cartridge before placing into filter housing.
Place new cartridge into filter housing. Ensuring post in bottom of filter housing is located in
the centre of filter cartridge.
6. Screw filter housing onto manifold and tighten by wrench until the O-ring between the head
and housing is not visible. Use the depth gauge washer to ensure the housing has been
sufficiently tightened as shown on the instructions included with the wrench
7. Open faucet by puling lever up. It should toggle into place and stay open.
8. Turn water on at the mains and then at the mains connection valve. Allow water to run
through system for several minutes to expel air bubbles trapped in the system during the
filter cartridge change. Water may appear milky. These are only tiny air bubbles and some
contaminants being expelled from the new filter cartridge. Flush water until it runs clear.
LOW /NO MAINTENANCE REQUIRED: The only requirement is changing the filter cartridge.
Maximum filter cartridge life expectancy is 6-8 months. The life and performance of filter
cartridge may vary depending on volume and quality of the incoming water supply being
filtered. Your filter cartridges may need replacing earlier than 6-8 months if you notice a
reduce volume or flow from the filter faucet, or the return of an unpleasant taste/odour to the
filtered water. Please contact Stefani Australasia Pty Ltd on (08) 9350 6178 or email to
Helpful hint: After carrying out a filter cartridge replacement or
any maintenance on filter system, we recommend you observe
system from possible water leaks for a day after filter cartridge
replacement. Seals and plumbing to the system may have
disturbed.
