OVERVIEW OF THE PRODUCT
The SWI-108 features a non-blocking switching architecture that
forwards and lters packets at full wire-speed for
maximum throughput. MAC address auto-learning and
auto-aging, IEEE802.3x ow control for Full Duplex mode and
backpressure for Half Duplex mode. It is compatible with all
10,100, and 1000Mbps Ethernet devices because it is
standard-based, it protects your existing network investments
while providing you with a straightforward migration path to faster
Gigabit speeds.
It’s plug-and-play and no conguration is required. Auto
MDI/MDI-X cable detection on all ports eliminate the need for
crossover cable or Uplink port. Each port can be used as general
ports or Uplink ports, and any port can be simply plugged into
a server, a hub, a router or a switch, using the straight cable or
crossover cable. Diagnostic LEDs which display link status and
activity, allowing you to quickly detect and correct problems on
the network.

INSTALLATION
1. You can place the Switch on a at table or a vertical wall if you
wish to hang it.
2. Please inspect the Power Adapter carefully and make sure
that it is properly connected to a power source.
3. Be sure to leave enough space for heat dissipation and good
ventilation in the Switch. Do not place heavy objects on the
Switch.
POWER ON
After the Switch powers up, it will be automatically initialized and
the LED indicators should respond as follows:
1) All of the Link/Act LED indicators will ash momentarily, which
represent a resetting of the system.
2) The Power LED indicator will light up.
IDENTIFYING EXTERNAL COMPONENTS
This Chapter describes the front panel, rear panel and LED
indicators of the Switch.
Front Panel
The front panel of the Switch consists of several LED indicators.

Rear Panel
The rear panel of the Switch consists of 8 10/100/1000Mbps
RJ45 Ports and one power jack. All ports can work as the Uplink
port.
LED indicators
The LED indicators include Power LED and Link/Act LEDs. The
LED indicators are used for monitoring and troubleshooting of
the Switch. The following section shows the LED indicators for
the Switch along with an explanation of each indicator.
Power LED: This indicator will light up when the Switch
powers up. If the LED is not lit, please check the power
adapter and connection.
1000M LINK/ACT LEDs: These LEDs indicate
Link/Active status. One LED will light green when a
1000Mbps device is connected to the corresponding
port. It ashes when data is being transmitted or
received on the connection.
10/100M LINK/ACT LEDs: These LEDs indicate
Link/Active status. One LED will light green when a
10Mbps or 100Mbps device is connected to the
corresponding port. It ashes when data is being
transmitted or received on the connection.

SPECIFICATIONS
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. The Power LED is not lit
Make sure the AC power Adapter is plugged into an outlet
properly and it’s connector is plugged into the power jack of the
switch .
Make sure the power source is ON.
Make sure you are using the power adapter supplied with your
switch.
2. The Link/Act LED is not lit when a device is connected to
the corresponding port
Make sure that the cable connectors are rmly plugged into the
Switch and the device.
Make sure the connected device is turned on and its adapter is
installed correctly and is working.
The cable must be less than 328 feet long

WARRANTY
This Steren product is warranted under normal usage against defects in workmanship and materials
to the original purchaser for one year from the date of purchase.
CONDITIONS
1.- This warranty card with all the required information, invoice or purchase ticket, product box or
package, and product, must be presented when warranty service is required.
2.- If the product stills on the warranty time, the company will repair it free of charge.
3.- The repairing time will not exceed 30 natural days, from the day the claim was received.
4.- Steren sell parts, components, consumables and accesories to costumer, as well as warranty
service, at any of the addresses mentioned later.
THIS WARRANTY IS VOID IN THE NEXT CASES:
If the product has been damaged by an accident, acts of God, mishandling, leaky batteries, failure
to follow enclosed instructions, improper repair by unauthorized personnel, improper safe keeping,
among others.
a) The consumer can also claim the warranty service in the purchase establishment.
b) If you lose the warranty card, we can reissue it, if you show the invoice or purchase ticket.

INFORMACIÓN
El SWI-108 cuenta con una arquitectura de no bloqueo que
envía y ltra paquetes a una alta velocidad para una mejor
salida. Una MAC address de auto aprendizaje y auto enve-
jecimiento, control de ujo IEEE802.3x para modo Full Duplex
y respaldo para el modo Half Duplex. Es compatible con los
equipos Ethernet 10, 100 y 1000Mbps, protege sus inversiones
actuales de red mientras que le provee una migración segura a
velocidades de Gigabits.
Es plug & play y no requiere de conguraciones. La detección
automática MDI/MDI-X en todos los puertos, eliminan la
necesidad de los cables cruzados o de un puerto Uplink. Cad
puerto puede ser utilizado como puertos generales o puertos
Uplink, y cualquier puerto puede ser conectado a un servidor,
hub, router o switch, de forma sencilla, utilizando un cable
cruzado o no. Los LEDs de diagnóstico muestran el estado y la
actividad del switch, permitiendo detectar rápidamente y corregir
problemas en la red.

INSTALACIÓN
1.- Puede colocar el switch en una supercie plana o en una
pared vertical si desea colgarlo.
2.- Inspeccione el adaptador de corriente cuidadosamente y
asegúrese de que esté conectado adecuadamente a una fuente
de energía.
3.- Asegúrese de dejar suciente espacio alrededor del equipo
para que exista una buena disipación del calor. No coloque
objetos pesados sobre el switch.
ENCENDIDO
Después de que el switch esté conectado a un tomacorriente,
éste se inicializará automáticamente y los indicadores LED
deben responder como sigue:
1) Todos los indicadores LED Link / Act parpadearán
momentáneamente, lo que representa un reinicio del sistema.
2) El indicador LED de Energía (Power) se encenderá.

Panel posterior
Consiste en 8 puertos RJ45 de 10/100/1000Mbps y una entrada
para adaptador de corriente. Todos los puertos pueden ser
utilizados como Uplink.
Indicadores LED
Los indicadores LED incluyen indicador de energía e
indicadores de actividad / enlace. Los indicadores LED son
utilizados para monitores y resolver problemas del switch. La
siguiente sección muestra los indicadores LED del switch así
como una explicación de cada uno de ellos.
LED de energía (Power)
Este indicador se encenderá cuando el switch está
conectado a la corriente eléctrica. Si el LED no se
enciende, por favor compruebe las conexión entre el
adaptador de corriente y el swtich.
LEDs 1000M LINK/ACT
Indican el estado del enlace activo (Link / Active).
Un LED se encenderá de color verde cuando un equipo
de 1000Mbps esté conectado al puerto correspondiente.
Parpadea cuando hay información que se está
transmitiendo o recibiendo en la conexión.
LEDs 10/100M LINK/ACT
Indican el estado del enlace activo (Link / Active). Un
LED se encenderá de color verde cuando un equipo
de 10 o 100Mbps esté conectado al puerto
correspondiente. Parpadea cuando hay información que
se está transmitiendo o recibiendo en la conexión.

ESPECIFICACIONES
PROBLEMAS Y SOLUCIONES
1.- El LED indicador de energía no enciende
Asegúrese de que el adaptador de corriente esté conectado a
un tomacorriente adecuadamente y que también esté conectado
al switch.
Asegúrese de que el tomacorriente tenga energía
Asegúrese de que está utilizando el adaptador de corriente
suministrado con el switch.
2.- El LED Link / Act no enciende cuando un equipo está
conectado al puerto correspondiente
Asegúrese de que los cables esté rmemente conectado al
equipo y al switch.
Asegúrese de que el equipo conectado esté encendido y el
adaptador está instalado correctamente y trabajando.
El cable debe ser menor a 100 metros de longitud
El diseño del producto y las especicaciones pueden
cambiar sin previo aviso.

PÓLIZA DE GARANTÍA
Esta póliza garantiza el producto por el término de un año en todas sus partes y mano de obra,
contra cualquier defecto de fabricación y funcionamiento, a partir de la fecha de entrega.
CONDICIONES
1.- Para hacer efectiva la garantía, presente ésta póliza y el producto, en donde fue adquirido o en
Electrónica Steren S.A. de C.V.
2.- Electrónica Steren S.A de C.V. se compromete a reparar el producto en caso de estar defectuoso
sin ningún cargo al consumidor. Los gastos de transportación serán cubiertos por el proveedor.
3.- El tiempo de reparación en ningún caso será mayor a 30 días, contados a partir de la recepción
del producto en cualquiera de los sitios donde pueda hacerse efectiva la garantía.
4.- El lugar donde puede adquirir partes, componentes, consumibles y accesorios, así como hacer
válida esta garantía es en cualquiera de las direcciones mencionadas posteriormente.
ESTA PÓLIZA NO SE HARA EFECTIVA EN LOS SIGUIENTES CASOS:
1.- Cuando el producto ha sido utilizado en condiciones distintas a las normales.
2.- Cuando el producto no ha sido operado de acuerdo con el instructivo de uso.
3.- Cuando el producto ha sido alterado o reparado por personal no autorizado por Electrónica
Steren S.A. de C.V.
El consumidor podrá solicitar que se haga efectiva la garantía ante la propia casa comercial donde
adquirió el producto. Si la presente garantía se extraviara, el consumidor puede recurrir a su
proveedor para que le expida otra póliza de garantía, previa presentación de la nota de compra o
factura respectiva.
