TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING NEON
• Disconnect your battery prior to installation.
• This is a high voltage system and may cause burn or shock if neon tubes are not properly
installed or connections are poorly insulated.
• Consult your local car audio or auto accessory installation center if uncertain of wiring or installation
of neon tubes.
• Handle tubes carefully, as inner tube is not flexible and will break if tube is dropped or hit against
hard surfaces.
STEP 1. KIT CONTENTS
1) Unpack all components of kit and place neon tubes away from installation area.
2) Check the above contents list and locate each item.
STEP 2. TESTING THE TUBES
1) Temporarily connect black neon cable from each end of tube to black neon cable on the
SG9500S Transformer.
2) Using your car battery or equivalent 12 volt power source, connect transformer positive lead
(RED wire w/inline fuse) to your power source’s positive lead (RED).
3) Connect your SG9500S transformer’s ground (metal bracket) to your negative lead (BLACK) of
your power source.
4) Your neon tube should now light up.
5) Repeat for all four neon tubes.
NOTE: Connections of tubes to the transformer’s neon leads during the test stage are to be
temporary and easy to disconnect.
STEP 3. INSTALLATION OF NEON TUBES
1) Mount the SG9500S Transformer on a flat metal surface that is both near the vehicle’s battery and
accessible for neon wire lead connections, but away from engine and moving parts.
2) Locate a desired position for tube placement that is away from all fuel lines, exhaust system,
areas of extreme heat, moving parts and where lifts or jacks are used to raise your vehicle. Run
closest neon tube leads to the SG9500S Transformer that allow for the least length of wire
(do not make connection at this time).
3) Mount side neon tubes to the vehicle with provided 1” nylon clamps. Secure clamps 12” apart
from each other. Proceed to mount front and rear neon tubes. Make sure all tubes are secure
and mounted flush to vehicle.
4) Trim off surplus wire from neon tubes before connecting to neon tubes. Avoid slack and secure
all neon wire leads.
NOTE: Allow 2” of straight wire at the end of each tube before bending in any direction.
5) Now you are ready for wiring.
STEP 4. WIRING CONNECTIONS (refer to Wiring Connection Chart)
1) Trim and connect the two closest neon tube leads to the SG9500S Transformer
2) From the ends of the neon tube leads and transformer leads, strip off 1” of black insulation
from the cable (Diagram 1).
3) Where two leads are to be connected, slide a clear PVC tubing onto one end of the lead
(Diagram 2).
4) Twist the neon tube wires together (Diagrams 3 & 4).
NOTE: Do not solder or use butt connectors or other connecting devices as this will
malfunction the system.
5) To insure proper installation, wrap black electrical tape over connection (Diagram 5).
6) Slide the clear PVC tubing over the connection (Diagram 6).
7) Complete the insulation by wrapping another layer of electrical tape over the PVC (Diagram 7).
8) All your tubes should be now be connected in a series along with the SG9500S Transformer.
Once complete, double check all connections between neon tubes and make sure all wires are
secured to vehicle (see Wiring Diagram).

TECH TIPS:
SG9500S TRANSFORMER
Each SG9500S Gold Series undercar kit transformer can power an additional 30” neon
tube(SGM30) for your grill or any other desired location. Transformer will automatically
shut down should six or more tubes be connected.
TUBE PLACEMENT
Keep in mind that a vehicle’s suspension moves when driving. After installing a tube, push
down on the front then rear of the vehicle, making sure nothing is pulling or touching
tubes and wires. If ABS indicator lamp illuminates while operating neon tubes, relocate
transformer and/or wiring away from ABS computer or sensors.
SHORT CIRCUIT
If neon tubes flash on and off, the neon tube is sensing a short circuit within the system.
Check all connections. If neon tubes flicker, check all connections throughout the entire
system. A bad connection may not necessarily be located near the flickering bulb.
Note: The leads at the end of each neon tube and SG9500S transformer are GTO cables. Only use
the supplied wire when extended lengths are needed between neon tubes. This cable is specially
insulated and using any other type of wire will malfunction the system, regardless of gauge.
Should additional wire be neccessary, check your local car audio store for availability.
STEP 5. WIRING ON/OFF SWITCH
1) Mount switch in an accessible and desirable location inside vehicle.
2) Connect the three cables as labeled (see Wiring Diagram).
3) Be sure to insulate each connection w/black electrical tape to avoid future malfunction of kit.
4) You have now completed the installation of neon tubes and On/Off switch.
5) Reconnect your battery.
6) You are now ready to turn the switch on and start enjoying your new Gold Series Undercar Kit.
8) Keep on glowin!
NOTE: Should lights fail to turn on, please refer to Troubleshooting Guide section of your manual.
PROBLEM:
Neon tube(s) are half lit or dim.
PROBLEM:
Neon tube does not light.
PROBLEM:
No lights come on at all
or lights come on and
turn off instantly (flash).
PROBLEM:
Faulty Transformer
Kit will not light up
SOLUTION:
Check black neon cable going into actual tube end near
rubber boot and all connections. All tubes in series must be
checked for faulty connections. Any faulty connections within
the series can cause a bulb to malfunction.
SOLUTION:
Check for faulty or broken neon tube. Visually check all
tubes carefully for any cracks. Make sure to inspect
the inner tube for any signs of breakage or cracks. If tube
does not appear to be broken, this could be a sign of a
faulty neon tube (See Return Authorization).
SOLUTION:
Recheck all your connections between neon tubes and be
sure they are properly insulated & moisture free. Recheck
switch wiring to assure all wires are properly connected.
Recheck your power source connection (i.e. battery or
fuse box). If using fuse method, check fuse. If all else fails,
check for a faulty SG9500S transformer.
SOLUTION:
See Step 2 - Testing Neon Tubes. If neon tubes still fail to
illuminate, then a new transformer may be needed.
