AIR FILTER MAINTENANCE
Your SUNHEAT Infrared Heater is equi ed with an easy to clean,
washable electro-static filter. Regular cleaning and maintenance of
your filter will ensure a lifetime of trouble-free use.
1. Turn off heater, then remove filter from bracket, located on the
back of the heater.
2. Rinse filter by running under warm ta water through the back
side of the filter (o osite of air intake direction) until clear of
dust and debris.
3. If the filter is extremely dirty or clogged with grease, you can
soak the filter in a mild solution of dish soa and water, then
brush with a soft brush and re eat rinsing rocess.
4. Shake filter to remove excess water and lay on clean cloth or
a er towels to dry. Do not use forced heat to dry the filter.
5. Re lace the filter onto heater ONLY after it is com letely dry.
The filter should be cleaned every 30 days. However it may be
necessary to clean more often depending upon the environment in
which the heater is operated (pets, rural living, etc.)
NOTE: Never operate heater without filter in place. Without the filter
in place, dust can accumulate in the heater chamber causing
damage to key elements.

WELCOME
Congratulations on the urchase of The Original SUNHEAT model SH-1500
LCD, a safe, ortable and su lemental zone heater. The SUNHEAT heater
roduces gentle, clean and economical heat by utilizing quartz infrared heat-
ing tubes inside a steel and co er heat exchanger. The infrared heating
rocess is similar to the way the sun warms the earth. The infrared tubes
transfer heat to cured co er canisters and a whis er quiet fan distributes the
accumulated warmth. This rocess is unique among heaters in that it mini-
mizes wasteful heat collection at the ceiling height of rooms. The safe infrared
heat is transferred into the living s ace in an even, energy saving method,
that can be absorbed by you and the objects in the room.
HEATER PLACEMENT
To achieve maximum efficiency of the Original SUNHEAT Portable
Infrared Heater, lease consider the following recommendations:
1. Place the heater near the center of the home next to a warmer inside
wall with the heat being blown toward the colder outside walls of the
home. This will allow the thermostat to accurately moderate the tem-
erature, therefore roducing a more even warmth.
2. For best results, do not locate the heater in an area with a high rate of
air flow.
3. For maximum efficiency, a 40% (minimum) relative humidity should be
maintained in the heated environment.
4. The SH-1500LCD is designed to o erate at maximum efficiency u to
the 70-72˚F range. Due to this unique heat conce t, a tem erature at
68˚F feels as though it were 72˚F. Similar to a summer heat index,
the moisture in the air holds the heat and transfers it evenly through-
out the entire area.
5. For efficiency, SUNHEAT Infrared Heaters are not recommended for
use in areas with ex osed, non-insulated, concrete, or metal walls.
You can use the SH-1500LCD in any room, whether insulated or not.
However, a non-insulated room will allow for greater heat loss that will
im act the effectiveness of the heater.
6. Kee the area around the heater clear of clutter and obstacles to
insure free airflow into and out from the heater.

6
HEATER OPERATION

Press the (3) H/L button on the control
anel or the on the remote control to switch between High, Low or

HOW IT WORKS
Your SUNHEAT infrared zone heating system is a truly effective way to su le-
mentally heat any area of your home. The six industrial grade quartz infrared
tubes, with Diamond Like Coated (DLC) Nichrome wire, transfer their heat waves
to the cured co er canisters within the unit. Because of this rocess, it will take
less than a minute for the fan to kick on and begin to rovide safe, soft, comfort-
able warmth. The infrared heat stored in the co er is transferred to eo le and
objects in the room in a remarkably even manner. This transitive heating system
rovides “Free Heat” as the system cycles off when the desired tem erature set-
ting is reached, the timer runs out or the heater is turned off. It is normal for the
fan to run as the heat chamber cools down.
1) Air is brought into the heat chamber through an easy to clean, washable filter.
(See next age for Filter Maintenance)
2) Cured co er cylinders surround the long-lasting quartz and DLC Nichrome
infrared heating tubes. The high velocity fan ulls filtered air over the co er
cylinders, transferring accumulated heat to the moisture in the air. There is no
drying of the air with this method of heating and no harmful chemicals or
ollutants are released.
3) As the heat transfer occurs, moisture in the air absorbs the infrared heat as it
circulates around and through the heat exchanger. The air exits the heater
a roximately 120˚F warmer than the air entering the heater.
4) Soft, warm, moist air flows out of the front vent of the Original SUNHEAT
heater. This heating rocess allows your body and the objects in the room to
absorb and hold the infrared heat. This creates a comfortable and even
tem erature from floor to ceiling and wall to wall.
Note: The fan will continue to run for approximately 6 minutes after the
desired temperature setting is reached, timer runs out or heater is
turned off, whether by front panel or by remote control.
This is normal. The residual heat or “Free Heat” is a by product of
cooling the heat chamber and is essential to protecting the key
elements of the heater. It is also an important energy saving feature
of infrared heating.
