eFOLDi USER MANUAL
Foreword
Dear Customer,
Thank you for choosing the eFOLDi – the electric foldable, portable scooter brought to you by SunTech UK
Ltd as a versatile triple mode device, having the ability to be used not just as a scooter, but also as a chair,
which can be folded to the size of a medium suitcase without removing any components (with the exception
of a high-visibility flag and its extending pole, if optionally fitted, to promote the awareness, particularly of
other road users, to your presence.)
We greatly value your custom and that you have placed your confidence in the eFOLDi. Our mission is to
provide all of our customers with efficient and best quality service.
This user manual is a comprehensive guide provided with your new eFOLDi, to enable you to familiarise
yourself with various parts and aspects of the eFOLDi, not least the latches which must be released at
certain stages and correctly engaged at other specific stages. Whilst it may first appear daunting due to
containing so much information, we decided to it that way for the benefit of clarity, understanding and safety,
rather than being so vague people would be uncertain of precisely the correct procedures, guidelines,
precautions, etc. Preferably before taking your new eFOLDi out for your first ride, please do read this manual
in full because, by taking the time to do so in conjunction with applying that information in practice on your
eFOLDi, we believe you will find some relatively complicated operations made easy and straight forward,
with the knowledge and confidence they are being done correctly, thereby enhancing your experience and
safety overall when using the eFOLDi through many miles during many years. Please keep this manual in a
safe place for future reference.
If you experience any problems, you can go to a nearest authorized local distributor or dealer for repair or
maintenances.
Your eFOLDi should have been delivered to you in pristine condition and without damage. If your eFOLDi
appears to be damaged, contact us on +44(0)20 3143 5168 (England), +44(0)13 3343 9356 (Scotland),+1
3104896266 (USA), or email us at hello@efoldi.com
There is a video on our website under the UserZone, likely be of benefit to most users who have access to
an internet connection, which also shows folding and unfolding of the eFOLDi.
Please remember to return us the enclosed Assessment and Warranty Form to validate your warranty.
At last, I’d like to share my favorite quote with you: “Happiness isn’t a station to arrive at, but a
manner of travelling!”
On behalf of the eFOLDi team, I sincerely wish you many happy journeys with eFOLDi!
Yours sincerely,
Sumi Wang
Managing Director

eFOLDi USER MANUAL
Safety Guidance
General
It is the user's responsibility to carefully read the full content of this guide before using the eFOLDi, to follow
all of the recommendations, fully comply with all laws of the countries and localities the eFOLDi will be used
in and apply due diligence and regard to other pedestrians, road users, etcetera. Different laws, rules and
requirements may apply within some countries and localities dependent upon various factors which may
include (but not limited to) the user’s age, whether the user is physically disabled or able-bodied, the precise
specification and capabilities of the model of eFOLDi being used.
In order to create the eFOLDi as a stable, easily useable scooter of the least weight viably possible, which
folds to the size of a medium suitcase, there are numerous hinges, pivots, levers, frames, etc. This means
there are various parts which can cause significant injury if handled without due care and diligence. Ensure
no hands, fingers, other body parts, fabric or other objects can get trapped or interfere with the parts of the
eFOLDi, please follow our folding/unfolding procedures strictly and study our instruction video carefully
before you start any operation on eFOLDi.
A rider new to the eFOLDi should familiarise his/herself with the recommended folding/unfolding procedures,
the controls and handling of the vehicle in a large area, away from obstacles and pedestrians. eFOLDi riders
are recommended to wear an approved helmet, sturdy shoes or boots and high visibility protective/padded
clothing and gloves as safety precautions.
BEWARE:
•The rear wheels and castors do not lock or brake.
•When travelling at more than a slow walking speed, be sure to slow down before turning.
•Do not ride over rough, cobbled, muddy, puddled, boggy or loose gravel surfaces – it is
designed for smooth & firm footpaths, pedestrian areas and roads only.
•Approach kerbs (maximum height 3cm) carefully at right-angles and go up or down them
slowly.
Any vehicle can be dangerous to its rider and other people/road users – always ride responsibly and
respectfully!
Additional eFOLDi recommendations:
eFOLDi is not a toy and not recommended for persons younger than 14 years of age.
Fully charge the battery(ies) before first use and follow the guidelines for getting the best long term benefit
from the battery(ies).
The folded eFOLDi should only be stood on its main rear wheels and lateral castors when on a level floor or
ground. When unfolding or folding the eFOLDi, ensure:
•the eFOLDi is positioned on a level floor or ground,
•the handbrake is locked on,
•the charger is disconnected from the eFOLDi,
•all switches (particularly the main power switch) are switched OFF,
•all pins and clamps are properly secured in place as stated in instructions.
Safety check before use:
It is highly recommended that you perform a safety check before each use to make sure your eFOLDi
operates smoothly and safely.
Check for correct tyre inflation. Maintain but do not exceed the P.S.I./BAR/kPa air pressure rating indicated
on each pneumatic tyre (note; the front and rear tyres are different pressures) and be sure to use the correct
pressure scale and according number on your inflator/pressure tester.
Check all electrical connections. Make sure they are secure and not corroded.
Check and test the brake system.
Check frequently for any loose fasteners, fixings and other components.

eFOLDi USER MANUAL
For UK Users:
The eFOLDi can be supplied fully compliant with UK Invalid Carriage Class 2 regulations or Class 3
regulations. It is illegal for persons restricted to Class 2 vehicles to ride Class 3 vehicles, e.g. persons less
than 14 years old are prohibited from riding Class 3.
For use in the UK mainland as a Class2 or Class 3 mobility scooter, the rider must apply the rules of the
‘Highway Code’ with particular regard to ‘Rules for users of powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters’
(sections 36 to 46).
Registration of the vehicle as may be required with the appropriate licensing authority is the user’s
responsibility.
Insurance as may be required for the vehicle and/or its user(s) is the user’s responsibility.
(In the UK, the legal term for a mobility scooter is ‘invalid Carriage’.)
Transportation within another vehicle
Please be aware: whenever transporting the eFOLDi in another vehicle, it should be secured to
ensure it cannot move within the vehicle, either in normal expected manoeuvres or in an accident.

eFOLDi USER MANUAL
Your eFOLDi Scooter
The scooter can be set up in any one of three functional modes:
•Electric scooter: Unfolded to drive as a lightweight electric tricycle.
•Chair: Folded into a chair for rest and comfort.
•Suitcase: Fully folded to the size of a medium suitcase for storage. When the user is needing to
move the eFOLDi manually, a handle can be extended, making it as easy to carry/pull as when
handling normal luggage, thereby easily transported with the user when using public transport.

eFOLDi USER MANUAL
Please read this section thoroughly before your first attempt to unfold your eFOLDi.
•Follow the instruction video and this guide implicitly.
•The eFOLDi has six important latches identified by small, round, red labels, each with a
number as referred to in this manual. At each stage of any folding or unfolding operation,
the user should confirm the specific latches are locked in place securely to ensure safety.
Any partial or complete failure of any latch (in part or in whole) to lock securely must be
rectified and/or repaired before using the eFOLDi further.
Locations of each of the six latches.
WARNING!
Care of flexible cables:
When folding or unfolding the eFOLDi, great care must be given to ensuring no straining
occurs to the front brake cable and/or the main electrical harness cable going to the
handlebar. In its working position, the handlebar has limited rotation to help prevent
damage to either cable in normal conditions. If any cable has any damage (or sharp bend),
the eFOLDi MUST NOT BE USED or power be switched on until the damage has been
rectified by an authorized repairer due to risk of catastrophic brake failure and/or electrical
short circuit.
