• Check the water temperature – This pressure washer is not
meant to pump hot water. NEVER connect it to a hot water
supplyasitwillsignicantlyreducethelifeofthepump.
• Store indoors – NEVER store the pressure washer outdoors
or where it could freeze. The pump could be seriously
damaged.
• Inspect electrical cables – The insulation of the power cord
should be perfectly intact. If the power cord is damaged or
shows any signs of wear or tear, do not use the pressure

Electrical Safety
ATTENTION: If there are problems with the electrical
MAINS,shortvoltagedropsmayappearwhenstartingthe
equipment.Thiscan,inturn,inuenceotherequipment
(e.g.causealamptoblink).IftheMAINS-IMPEDANCEZmax
<0.335OHM,suchdisturbancesarenotexpected.(Ifyou
requireassistance,contactyourlocalsupplyauthorityfor
furtherinformation.)
mWARNING! Electrical Shock Hazard – Before starting
upyourmachine,pleasecheckitcarefullyforanydefects.If

The following should be observed when connecting the
high-pressure electric power washer to the electric supply:
• Theelectricsupplyconnectionshouldbeperformedbya
qualiedperson.
• Theelectricsupplytothisapplianceshouldincludeeither
a residual current device that will interrupt the supply if the
leakagecurrenttotheearthexceeds30mAfor30msora
devicethatwillinterrupttheearthcircuit(GFCI).
IMPORTANT: Onlyusewaterwithoutanyimpurities.Ifthere
isariskofrunningsandintotheinletwater(i.e.fromyourown
well),anadditionalltershouldbeinstalled.

Safety Devices
The unloader valve can reduce pressure if it exceeds preset
values.Thespraygunfeaturesalockingdevice.Whenthelock
is activated, the spray gun cannot be operated.
1. Thermal sensor – A thermal sensor protects the motor
against overloading. The machine will restart after a few
minutes when the thermal sensor has cooled.
2. Double insulation – In a double-insulated appliance, two
systems of insulation are provided instead of grounding.
No grounding means is provided on a double-insulated
appliance, nor should a means for grounding be added
totheappliance.Servicingadouble-insulatedappliance
requiresextremecareandknowledgeofthesystem,and
shouldbeperformedonlybyqualiedservicepersonnelat
anauthorizedSnowJoe®+SunJoe®dealer. Replacement
parts for a double-insulated appliance must be identical
to the parts they replace. A double-insulated appliance
ismarkedwiththewords“DoubleInsulation”or“Double
Insulated.”Thesymbol (squarewithinasquare)may
alsobemarkedontheappliance.
3. Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protection – this
productisprovidedwithaGroundFaultCircuitInterrupter
built into the power cord plug. This device provides
additionalprotectionfromtheriskofelectricshock.If
replacement of the plug or cord is needed, use only
identicalreplacementpartsthatincludeGFCIprotection.
4. It is not recommended to use an extension cord with
this pressure washer. The unit comes standard with a
35ftGFCIpowercable.Usinganextensioncordmay
cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and
overheating.
Use only extension cords that are intended for outdoor
use.Theseextensioncordsareidentiedbymarking
"Acceptable for use with outdoor appliance; store indoors
while not in use". Use only extension cords having an
electricalratingnotlessthantheratingoftheproduct.Do
notusedamagedextensioncords.Examineextension
cordbeforeusingandreplaceifdamaged.Donot
abuseextensioncordanddonotyankonanycordto
disconnect.Keepcordawayfromheatandsharpedges.
Always disconnect extension cord from the receptacle
before disconnecting the product from the extension cord.
5. Toreducetheriskofelectricshock,thisappliancehasa
polarizedplug(i.e.onebladeiswiderthantheother).The
applianceplugwilltintoapolarizedoutletonlyoneway.
Iftheapplianceplugdoesnottfullyintotheoutlet,
reversetheplug.Iftheplugstilldoesnott,makesure
that you are using the correct polarized wall outlet. If the
plugstilldoesnott,contactaqualiedelectricianto
installtheproperwalloutlet.Donotmodifytheappliance
plug, power cord receptacle, or power cord plug in
any way.
6. To prevent the appliance cord from disconnecting from the
extensioncordduringoperation,makeaknotwiththetwo
cords as shown in Table 1.
7. Donotabusethecord.Neverpullthepressurewasher
bythecordoryankthecordtodisconnectitfromthe
receptacle.Keepthecordawayfromheat,oil,and
sharp edges.

• Donotallowanypartoftheelectricpressurewasher
tomakecontactwithwaterwhileitisinoperation.If
theappliancebecomeswetwhileturnedo,wipedry
before starting.

pressurewashercomesequippedwitha35ftpower
cable.Combinedcordlengthmustnotexceed60ft.
Anyextensioncordmustbe14-gauge(orheavier)to
safely power the pressure washer.
• Donottouchtheapplianceoritsplugwithwethands
or while standing in water. Wearing rubber boots
oerssomeprotection.

Purpose
• Thishigh-pressureelectricpowerwasherisintendedfor
residential use to clean vehicles, machines, buildings,
facades, etc.
Areas of Application
• Neverusethemachineinpotentiallyexplosiveareasunder
any circumstances!
• Theoperatingtemperaturemustbebetween32ºF(0ºC) and
104ºF(40ºC).
• Themachineconsistsofanassemblywithapump,whichis
encasedinashock-absorbinghousing.Toprovidetheoperator
withanoptimalworkingposition,themachineisequippedwith
a stainless steel lance and a non-slip handle grip, whose shape
andcongurationcomplywithapplicableregulations.
• Donotcoverormodifythestainlesssteellanceorthespray
nozzles in any way.
• Thehigh-pressureelectricpowerwasherisdesignedtobe
usedwithcoldorlukewarmwater;highertemperaturescan
damage the pump.

chemical products, as these could impair operation and

Assembly
1. PositionthewasherasCLOSEaspossibletothe
water supply.
2. The washer must be used on a secure and stable surface
inastanding,uprightposition(Fig.1).

4. Connect one end of pressure hose to the trigger gun.
Connect the other end to the washer water outlet and
reinforcetheconnectionbythesleeve(Fig.3-4).

6. Repeat above steps for the connection between the front

8. MakesuretheswitchisinOFFpositionbeforeplugging

9. Connect the pressure washer to the electrical supply
matching"SPECIFICATION"inthismanual.Pressthe
resetbuttonontheGFCIpluguntiltheindicator
illuminatestomakesurethewasherisreadyforoperation
(Fig.10).
NOTE: TheGFCImayneedtoberesetwhenrstpluggedinto
the electric outlet. Press the "Reset" button until the power
rightindicatorontheGFCIilluminates.

Operation
mIMPORTANT! Thispressurewasherisequippedwitha
micro-switchsensitivetowaterow.ThisTotalStopSystem
(TSS)senseswaterowinthepump.Whenthetriggeris
released,waterstopsowingthroughthepump.TheTSSthen
automaticallyturnsthemotorotoprotectthepumpfrom
overheating, thus saving energy and prolonging pump life.
1. Turn the water supply tap on completely.
2. Makesurethesafetylockisunengaged,thenpress
thetriggerforafewsecondsuntilwaterowissteady.
This will allow air to escape and discharge any residual
pressure in the hose.
3. PresstheON/OFFswitchtostartthepressurewasher.
Using the Nozzles
Eachnozzlehasadierentspraypattern.Determinethebest
nozzleaccordingtothecleaningtasktobeperformed.This
electricpressurewasherisequippedwithtwo(2)nozzlesthat
easilysnapontotheQuick-Connectcollarofthestainlesssteel
lance.
mCAUTION! NEVERchangenozzleswithoutlockingthe
safetylockonthetriggerhandle.
mWARNING! High-pressure jets can be dangerous if
subject to misuse. The jet must not be directed at persons,
pets,liveelectricalequipment,ortheapplianceitself.
To connect a nozzle to the extension lance:
1. Turnothepressurewasherandshutothewatersupply.
Pull the trigger to release the water pressure.
2. Engagethesafetylockonthetriggertoprevent
unintentionalstart(Fig.11).

3. Pull the collar and insert a desired nozzle. Release the
collartolockthenozzleinplace(Fig.12).

To disconnect a nozzle from the extension lance once the
cleaning job is complete:
4. Turnothepressurewasherandshutothewatersupply.
Pull the trigger to release water pressure.
5. Engagethesafetylockonthetriggertolockthetrigger.
6. Remove the nozzle by placing your hand over the nozzle
whilepullingbackontheQuick-Connectcollar.
mWARNING! Donotmakechangestothenozzlewhile
thetriggerisengaged.Doingsocouldresultindamagetothe
pressure washer or injury to the user.

Working with Detergents
Whencleaningwiththepressurewasher,somecleaningtasks
canbesolvedwithwateralone,butformosttaskscleaning
withdetergentallowsformoreeectivedirtremoval.
Foradditionalcleaningpower,theunitcomesequippedwitha
detergent spray bottle with foam cannon.
mWARNING! Useonlydetergentsspecicallydesignedfor
use with pressure washers, suchasSunJoe®HOUSE+DECK
WASH(SPX-HDC1G),SunJoe®SNOWFOAMAUTOWASH
(SPX-FCS1G),orSunJoe®HEAVYDUTYCLEANER(SPX-
APC1G).DO NOT USEhouseholddetergents,acids,alkaline
solutions,bleaches,solvents,ammablematerial,orindustrial
grade solutions. These could damage the pressure washer.
Manydetergentsmayrequiremixingpriortouse.Preparethe
cleaning solution as instructed on the solution bottle.
1. Remove the foam cannon cap with detergent suction tube
from the bottle.
2. Fillthefoamcannonbottlewithdetergentdesigned
specicallyforusewithpressurewashers(Fig.13).

3. Recap the foam cannon, and attach it to the extension
lancebysnappingitontotheQuick-Connectcollaruntilit
clicksintoplace(Fig.14).

4. Apply detergent from the bottom to the top of the dry
surface to be cleaned. Applying detergent in this manner
willdissolvedirtmosteectively.
NOTE: Wettingthesurfacerstisnotrecommendedasit
dilutes the detergent and reduces its cleaning ability.
mCAUTION! Always test the detergent in an
inconspicuous area before use.
6. Allow the detergent to remain on the surface for a short
timebeforerinsingwiththepressurewasher.Donotallow
the detergent to dry on the surface.
mCAUTION! Damagemayoccurtopaintedsurfacesifthe
detergent is allowed to dry on them. Wash and rinse a small
sectionatatime.Avoidworkingonhotsurfacesorindirect
sunlight.
Rinsing with the Pressure Washer
1. Turnothepressurewasherandshutothewatersupply.
2. Pull the trigger to release water pressure.
3. Engagethesafetylockonthetriggertolockthetrigger
(Fig.11).
4. Remove the detergent bottle with foam cannon by holding
thebottlewhilepullingbackontheQuick-Connectcollar.
5. Selecttherightnozzleforthejob:
1) Spray Nozzle
This nozzle creates the widest area of cleaning with relatively
low pressure. It is intended for light or delicate cleaning
applicationssuchaswooddecksandothersoftordelicate
surfaces.
2) Turbo Nozzle
Thisnozzlerotatesinazeroto15degreecircularmotion
spraypatterntobreakdowntoughdirtandgrime.Itcovers
area of 4 to 8 inches wide, depending on the distance
between the tip and the surface being cleaned.
6. Startatthetopoftheareatoberinsedandworkyourway
down,makingsuretooverlapyourstrokes.
mIMPORTANT! NEVER USE:
• Bleach, chlorine products, and other corrosive chemicals
• Liquidscontainingsolvents(e.g.paintthinners,gasoline,
oils)
• Tri-sodium phosphate products
• Ammonia products
• Acid-based products
These chemicals will harm the unit and will damage the
cleaning surface.
Shutting Down
1. TurntheswitchtotheOFF(0)positionandunplugthe
power cord from the power outlet.
2. Turnothewatersupply.
3. Hold the trigger to release water pressure.
4. Disconnectthegardenhosefromwasherwaterinlet.
5. Disconnectthepressurehosefromthetriggergun.
6. Releasethetriggerandengagethesafetylock.

Taking a Break
Ifyouaretakingabreakofveminutesormorebetween
cleaningtasks:

2. TurntheswitchtotheOFF(0)position.
3. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
Storage
mCAUTION! Always store your pressure washer in a
locationwherethetemperaturewillnotfallbelow32ºF(0ºC).
The pump in this machine is susceptible to permanent damage
if it freezes. FREEZE DAMAGE IS NOT COVERED BY THE
WARRANTY.
• Storethepressurewasherindoorsinadry,coveredarea
where it is not subject to adverse weather conditions.
• It is important to store this product in a frost-free area.
• Always empty water from all hoses, the pump, and the
foam cannon before storing.
mCAUTION! The use of a pump protector is
recommended to prevent cold weather damage during storage
over the winter months.
Winterizing + Long-Term Storage
If you must store your pressure washer in a location where
thetemperaturefallsbelow32ºF(0ºC),youcanminimizethe
chance of damage to your machine by utilizing the following
procedure:
• Disconnectallwaterconnections.
• Turn on the machine for a few seconds until the remaining
waterinthepumpexits.Turnoimmediately.
• Donotallowthehigh-pressurehosetobecomekinked.
• Storethemachineandaccessoriesinaroomthatdoes
not reach freezing temperatures.
• Donotstorenearafurnaceorothersourcesofheatthat
may dry out the pump seals.
• Operatethepressurewasherwithnon-corrosive/non-toxic
anti-freeze, a pump saver, or a pump protector before
storing for the winter.
mWARNING! Beforereusing,completelyushtheunit
out with clear water. Anti-freeze products can damage
paintwork,soyoumustensurethereisnoanti-freezeleftinthe
system before using it again.
