Guidelines and General Information
The analyzer complies with EU Directives and standards, among other regulations, for
electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility. Inaccurate usage or handling may,
however, result in damage to the product and small to medium injuries.
The analyzer is powered by a 9-volt Alkaline battery. Extra precautions should be taken, when
handling the battery. Removing a leaking battery should be done while wearing protective
gloves, whereafter the contacts must be cleaned with a soft cloth.
Before using the device, please read and understand this user manual, including the safety
instructions.
Always keep the equipment and analyzer freely accessible and stored in it’s ABS carry case.
The instrument should not be exposed to large temperature fluctuations and should be kept
free of moisture.

Introduction
Thank you for choosing Supertech’s Superpro Combi Grain Moisture Analyser. It enables you to read actual
moisture in the bale, average the moisture content, display the stored measurements and read bale
temperature. The Superpro Combi is a sturdy tool with a 50 cm stainless steel probe with moisture and
temperature sensor and a casing made of shockproof ABS plastic. The robust design makes the Superpro
Combi very handy. It is quick and easy to use and the backlit display is easy to read, even in poor light
conditions
Read this manual carefully to learn how to operate this device correctly.

Instructions
This section explains how to use the Superpro Combi
How to Make a Measurement
1. TURN ON THE DEVICE Press the ON/☼ button ( by holding the ON/☼ button backlight in the display
will switch on).
2. INSERT THE PROBE into the hay/straw to be tested
3. STORE MEASUREMENT Press the ° button ( 2nd button from left ) to store measurements to memory
and automatically calculate average moisture content.
How to Read the Display
Rh: 27,8% = Current moisture content at the sensor point
T: 24,7C = Temperature at the sensor point
n: 06 = Number of stored measurements in the memory
x: 26,7% = Calculated average moisture content
What to do After Making a Measurement
1. CLEAR THE CALCULATED AVERAGE VALUES Press the OFF/DEL button shortly
2. TURN OFF THE DEVICE Press the OFF/DEL button and hold it down until the unit is turned off. Or the unit
will automatically turn off if 3 minutes have passed since use of any button.
Adjusting the Calibration of the Meter
The calibration can be adjusted, if necessary, up or down 3,9% in steps of 0.1%. Removing the battery has no
effect on the information stored in the tester.

1. Turn on the unit by pressing the ON/☼ button.
2. Press the CAL± button. The numeric value +0,0 is shown in the display ( factory calibration ).
3. By using the ON/☼ button or the OFF/DEL button the desired calibration value can be selected.
4. Accept the selected calibration value choice by pressing the CAL± button.
Note: The indicator* will appear in the display at the end of the Rh value if adjustments are made compared
to factory calibration.
The instrument is calibrated ( factory adjusted ) in the incorporated scale. The scale are developed on the
basis of official methods of measuring the moisture content determination. The scale are compiled on the
basis of samples which represent the common grown crops in normal conditions. Growth factors which
deviates from the natural standards will have an effect on the electrical characteristics of the hay/straw and
it can therefore be necessary to recalibrate.

meter
Battery
The unit comes with a 9 volt Alkaline battery which are placed in the box carrying the unit. The battery is
to be placed in the compartment situated in the handle of the unit when it is turned around.
To check the level of the battery turn on the tester by pressing the ON/☼button and the “Battery bar“ will
appear for a short time. 4 bars indicates full battery condition, 1 bar indicates low battery condition. It is
advised to have an additional battery close at hand when 1 bar indicates the level of the battery.
When the battery is in need of a replacement the message “Bat Lo” will appear in the display. Only use 9
volt Alkaline batteries.
Storage and Advice for General Usage
It is recommended that you store the instrument in the enclosed transport packaging, that the instrument is
not exposed to large temperature fluctuations and that it is kept free of moisture.
If the instrument is taken into a warmer environment from a cold storage location, it is recommended that
one allow the unit to acclimatise in order that condensation does not affect the result of the
measurement. At the end of the season, wipe all surfaces with a well-wrung damp cloth and remove the
battery from the unit.

General Information and Tips
The reliability of the measurements results depends on many factors:
- Density of the bale. The density of the bale means how hard the bale is pressed. A loosely
compressed bale will give a lower result than a hard compressed bale.
- The number of measurements in each bale. The moisture in a compressed bale may vary a great
deal depending on where in the bale the measurement is made. It is, therefore, necessary to make
several measurements at different locations in the bale in order to obtain a reliable result. Please
note that the measurements is made in the tip of the probe.
- The water content. Measurement of the moisture content in hay/straw in which the water content is
greater than 25-28% will be less accurate. This does not mean that such measurements cannot be
used. It is important, where such high readings occur, to note their frequency. It may be necessary to
dry your stock of hay/straw to prevent it from being ruined.
- Growth factors which deviates from the natural standards will have an effect on the electrical
characteristics of the hay/straw and it can therefore be necessary to recalibrate.
Moisture content can be measured in loose hay/straw as follows:
●Fill a bucket ( 10-15 liter ) with some of the loose hay/straw to be tested.
●Press the hay/straw down into the bucket with one hand and maintain the pressure while inserting
the probe. Here to it is necessary to make several measurements and use the highest value as the
normative value.
Note: On account of the many factors which affect measurement, the moisture content reading may only be
considered to be a guideline value. Care and experience from making measurements will produce the best
result.
