NORMAS GENERALES DE SEGURIDAD
Esta ESMERILADORA ANGULAR tiene caracte-
rísticas que harán su trabajo más rápido y fácil.
Seguridad, comodidad y confiabilidad fueron
previstos como prioridad para el diseño del
mismo, haciendo más fácil su operación.
ADVERTENCIA: Lea todas las advertencias
de seguridad y todas las instrucciones. La omi-
sión de alguna de las advertencias e instruccio-
nes que se enlistan a continuación puede dar
como resultado un choque eléctrico, fuego y/o
un serio daño.
CONSERVE TODAS LAS ADVERTENCIAS Y
TODAS LAS INSTRUCCIONES.
SEGURIDAD EN EL ÁREA DE TRABAJO
Mantenga el área de trabajo limpia y bien ilu-
minada. Las áreas desordenadas y oscuras pro-
vocan accidentes.
No maneje herramientas eléctricas en atmós-
feras explosivas, tales como en presencia de
líquidos inflamables, gases o polvo. Las herra-
mientas eléctricas crean chispas que pueden
encender el polvo o los humos.
Mantenga alejados a los niños y curiosos
mientras maneja una herramienta eléctrica.
Las distracciones pueden causarle la pérdida
del control.
SEGURIDAD ELÉCTRICA
La clavija de la herramienta eléctrica debe
coincidir con receptáculo. No modificar nunca
la clavija de ninguna manera. No usar ningún
adaptador de clavijas con herramientas eléctri-
cas puestas a tierra. Clavijas no modificadas y
bases coincidentes reducirán el riesgo de cho-
que eléctrico.
Evite el contacto del cuerpo con superficies
puestas a tierra como tuberías, radiadores, co-
cinas eléctricas y refrigeradores. Hay un riesgo
aumentado de choque eléctrico si su cuerpo
está puesto a tierra.
No exponga las herramientas eléctricas a la llu-
via o a condiciones de humedad. El agua que
entre en la herramienta aumentará el riesgo
de choque eléctrico.
No abuse del cable. No usar nunca el cable para
llevar, levantar o desenchufar la herramienta
eléctrica. Mantenga el cable lejos del calor,
aceite, cantos vivos o piezas en movimiento.
Los cables dañados o enredados aumentan el
riesgo de choque eléctrico.
Cuando maneje una herramienta eléctrica en
el exterior, use una prolongación de cable ade-
cuada para uso en el exterior. El uso de una
prolongación de cable adecuada para uso en el
exterior reduce el riesgo de choque eléctrico.

EXTENSIONES DE CABLE
NOTA: El uso de cables dañados incrementa el
riesgo de descargas eléctricas o quemaduras.
Si es necesario un cable de extensión, debe ser
usado un cable con el tamaño adecuado de los
conductores. La tabla de la siguiente página,
muestra el tamaño correcto para usar depen-
diendo en la longitud del cable y el rango de
amperaje especificado en la etiqueta de valo-
res nominales del producto. Si está en duda,
use el rango próximo más grande.
Siempre use cables de extensión listados en UL,
CSA ó NOM.
TAMAÑOS RECOMENDADOS DE EXTENSIONES
DE CABLE:
Cuando esté usando el producto afuera, use
una extensión para exteriores marcadas con lo
siguiente: “WA” o “W”. Estas extensiones están
pensadas para trabajar en exteriores y reducen
el riesgo de descarga eléctrica.
SEGURIDAD PERSONAL
Esté alerta, vigile lo que está haciendo y use el
sentido común cuando maneje una herramien-
ta eléctrica. No use una herramienta eléctrica
cuando esté cansado o bajo la influencia de

drogas, alcohol o medicamentos. Un momento
de distracción mientras maneja herramientas
eléctricas puede causar un daño personal serio.
Use equipo de seguridad. Lleve siempre pro-
tección para los ojos. La utilización para las
condiciones apropiadas de un equipo de segu-
ridad tal como mascarilla antipolvo, zapatos no
resbaladizos, gorro duro, o protección para los
oídos reducirá los daños personales.
Evite un arranque accidental. Asegúrese de
que el interruptor está en posición apagado
antes de conectar a la red y/o a la batería, co-
ger o transportar la herramienta. Transportar
herramientas eléctricas con el dedo sobre el
interruptor o enchufar herramientas eléctricas
que tienen en interruptor en posición encendi-
do invita a accidentes.
Retire llaves o herramienta antes de arrancar
la herramienta eléctrica. Una llave o herra-
mienta dejada unida a una pieza rotativa de
una herramienta eléctrica puede causar un
daño personal.
No se sobrepase. Mantenga los pies bien asen-
tados sobre el suelo y conserve el equilibrio en
todo momento. Esto permite un mejor control
de la herramienta eléctrica en situaciones in-
esperadas.
Vista adecuadamente. No vista ropa suelta o
joyas. Mantenga su pelo, su ropa y guantes
alejados de las piezas en movimiento. La ropa
suelta, las joyas o el pelo largo pueden ser co-
gidos en las piezas en movimiento.
Si hay dispositivos para la conexión de medios
de extracción y recolección de polvo, asegúre-
se de que éstos estén conectados y se usen co-
rrectamente. El uso de estos dispositivos puede
reducir los peligros relacionados con el polvo.
IMPORTANTE: Este aparato no se destina
para utilizarse por personas (incluyendo niños)
cuyas capacidades físicas, sensoriales o menta-
les sean diferentes o estén reducidas, o carez-
can de experiencia o conocimiento, a menos
que dichas personas reciban una supervisión o
capacitación para el funcionamiento del apa-
rato por una persona responsable de su segu-
ridad. Los niños deben supervisarse para ase-
gurar que ellos no empleen los aparatos como
juguete.
UTILIZACIÓN Y CUIDADOS DE LAS
HERRAMIENTAS ELÉCTRICAS
No fuerce la herramienta eléctrica. Use la he-
rramienta eléctrica correcta para su aplicación.
La herramienta eléctrica correcta hará el tra-
bajo mejor y más seguro al ritmo para la que
fue concebida.
No use la herramienta eléctrica si el interrup-
tor no gira “encendido” y “apagado”. Cual-
quier herramienta eléctrica que no pueda con-
trolarse con el interruptor es peligrosa y debe
repararse.
Desenchufe la clavija de la fuente de alimen-
tación y/o de la batería antes de efectuar
cualquier ajuste, cambio de accesorios, o de
almacenar las herramientas eléctricas. Tales
medidas preventivas de seguridad reducen el
riesgo de arrancar la herramienta accidental-
mente.
Almacene las herramientas eléctricas inactivas
fuera del alcance de los niños y no permita el
manejo de la herramienta eléctrica a personas
no familiarizadas con las herramientas o con
estas instrucciones. Las herramientas eléctricas
son peligrosas en manos de usuarios no entre-
nados.
Mantenga las herramientas eléctricas. Com-
pruebe que las partes móviles no estén des-
alineadas o trabadas, que no haya piezas ro-
tas u otras condiciones que puedan afectar la
operación de las herramientas eléctricas. Las
herramientas eléctricas se reparan antes de su
uso, cuando están dañadas. Muchos acciden-
tes son causados por herramientas eléctricas
pobremente mantenidas.
Mantenga las herramientas de corte afiladas y
limpias. Las herramientas de corte mantenidas
correctamente con los bordes de corte afilados
son menos probables de trabarse y más fáciles
de controlar.
Use la herramienta eléctrica, accesorios y pun-
tas de herramienta, etc. de acuerdo con estas
instrucciones y de la manera prevista para el
tipo particular de herramienta eléctrica, te-
niendo en cuenta las condiciones de trabajo
y el trabajo a desarrollar. El uso de la herra-
mienta eléctrica para aplicaciones diferentes
de las previstas podría causar una situación de
peligro.

SERVICIO
Haga revisar su herramienta eléctrica por un
servicio de reparación calificado usando sola-
mente piezas de reemplazo idénticas. Esto ga-
rantizará que la seguridad de la herramienta
eléctrica se mantiene.
ADVERTENCIAS DE SEGURIDAD
PARA ESMERILADORAS ANGULARES
• Sostenga la herramienta por sus partes aisla-
das cuando realice cualquier operación donde
la herramienta tenga contacto con cables es-
condidos o el de la misma máquina. El contacto
con cualquier cable “vivo“ harán que las partes
metálicas de la herramienta se electrifiquen.
• Siempre utilice la guarda del disco de la
esmeriladora cuando opere. La guarda prote-
ge al operador de fragmentos de discos que se
puedan desprender.
• Los discos de corte y desbaste deben de ser
clasificados con la velocidad que se indica en la
etiqueta de la herramienta. Los discos y otros
accesorios que sean utilizados a una velocidad
mayor a la recomendada podrían salir dispara-
dos y causar daños al operador.
• Asegúrese de quitar todas las llaves de ajus-
te antes de encender la herramienta. Una llave
de ajuste que se encuentre todavía posiciona-
da en una de las partes rotativas de la herra-
mienta, podrían causar daños personales.
• Antes de conectar la herramienta, verique
que el interruptor y el botón de traba no se en-
cuentren accionados.
• Cuando encienda deje que la esmeriladora
corra por unos minutos antes de usarla sobre
la pieza de trabajo. Observe que en el disco no
haya una vibración u ondulación que puedan
indicar una mala instalación.
• Cuando esté operando la esmeriladora evi-
te que el disco abrasivo se curvee o quiebre. Si
esto ocurre detenga la máquina e inspeccione
el disco abrasivo.
• No utilice discos de corte o desbaste dañados.
• No utilice un disco de corte o desbaste que ya
esté gastado. Esto podría causar la explosión
del disco y causar daños serios. Un disco con un
diámetro ya establecido no debe ser usado si
ha sido desgastado hasta alcanzar 3” (7,6 cm)
de diámetro.
• Use mordazas o alguna otra manera prácti-
ca para asegurar y apoyar la pieza de trabajo
a una plataforma estable. Sostener la pieza
de trabajo con las manos o contra su cuerpo
es inestable y puede generar una pérdida de
control.
• Mantenga las manos alejadas de las partes
móviles.
• Cuando esmerile, use siempre lentes de se-
guridad y máscara anti-polvo, especialmente
cuando esmerile sobre la altura de su cabeza.
• Tenga cuidado de las chispas. Sostenga la he-
rramienta de tal manera que las chispas vayan
del lado contrario al operador y de otras perso-
nas. A su vez, mantengase alejado de fuentes
inflamables durante la operación.
• No toque la pieza de trabajo inmediatamente
después de haber usado la esmeriladora. Ésta
podría estar muy caliente y quemar su piel.
EL CONTRAGOLPE
El contragolpe es una acción repentina. La per-
foración o el enganchado produce una rápida
disminución de velocidad causando una pérdi-
da de control de la herramienta que se dirige
hacia el lado que se encuentra el operador.
El contragolpe es el resultado de un inadecua-
do uso de la herramienta o un funcionamiento
incorrecto. El contragolpe se puede evitar si-
guiendo estas instrucciones:
1. Mantenga un agarre firme con ambas manos
sobre la herramienta. Posicione adecuadamen-
te su cuerpo para resistir la fuerza del contra-
golpe. El operador puede controlar la reacción
del torque si sigue las advertencias.
2. Nunca coloque su mano cerca del accesorio
giratorio podría haber un contragolpe sobre su
mano.
3. No posicione su cuerpo en el area donde
pueda ocurrir un contragolpe. El contragolpe
impulsara la herramienta al lado contrario de
la direccion de rotacion del disco abrasivo.
4. Tenga mucho cuidado cuando trabaja con
bordes. Estos tienden enganchar el disco.
5. No utilice la herramienta de corte con sierra.
Estas producen un contragolpe.

ENSAMBLE Y AJUSTES
ADVERTENCIA: Saque la esmeriladora de su
empaque y examinelo cuidadosamente. No tire
el empaque hasta que todas las partes hayan
sido examinadas.
INSTALANDO LA EMPUÑADURA LATERAL
La empuñadura la-
teral debe ser usada
siempre que la máqui-
na esté en funciona-
miento. Enrosque la
empuñadura lateral
dentro de uno de los
orificios (ya sea en el lado derecho o izquier-
do de la máquina). Su elección está determina-
da por su conveniencia y por su habilidad para
mantener el completo control.
INSTALANDO LA GUARDA DEL DISCO
La guarda del disco es
un dispositivo de se-
guridad que previe-
ne lesiones causadas
por desprendimientos
de los discos abrasi-
vos. Cuando instale la
guarda, asegurese que el gancho de ajuste
quede alineado con la muesca en la cubierta de
la caja de engranajes. Gire el protector hacia
la izquierda hasta que se quede en la posición
correcta.
Antes de la operación, asegurese que la guarda
se encuentre fija en su lugar. Suelte el gancho
de fijación, la guarda puede ser ajustada en
la posición que usted desee. Una vez logrado
esto, ajuste el gancho nuevamente.
INSTALAR O REMOVER EL DISCO ABRASIVO
Para la instalación del disco:
1. Asegúrese que el
protector esté seguro
en su lugar.
2. Coloque el adapta-
dor interno en el eje.
Asegúrese de que se
coloca sobre las dos
superficies planas.
3. Compruebe la velo-
cidad del disco abrasi-
vo. No utilice un disco
con un rango de velocidad menor que el indi-
cado en la máquina de la etiqueta.
4. Presione el botón de traba del eje para pre-
venir el movimiento del eje.
5. Mantenga el botón
de traba presionado,
ajuste el adaptador ex-
terior atornillando en el
sentido de las agujas del
reloj con la llave.
IMPORTANTE: Sostenga la herramienta por
un minuto con velocidad en vacío cuando utili-
ce un disco abrasivo nuevo.
Para desinstalar el disco:
1. Pulse el botón de bloqueo del eje.
2. Afloje la tuerca de bloqueo del eje girando
la tuerca con la llave.
3. Retire el tornillo de la rosca.
4. Quite el disco abrasivo del eje.
ENCENDIDO Y APAGADO
PRECAUCION: Asegurese de que puede con-
trolar el interruptor libremente y mantengalo
apagado antes de conectar la esmeriladora.

Para dejar de utilizar esta función, presione y
regrese el interruptor a su posición original "O".
Mueva solamente hacia la pieza de trabajo lue-
go de encender la herramienta.
Cuando los carbones presenten un desgaste la
herramienta se apagará automáticamente.
Deje correr la herramienta por un minuto en
velocidad en vacío cuando utilice un disco
abrasivo nuevo.
INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN
1. Para un mejor control, sostenga la esmerila-
dora angular firmemente, con una mano en el
mango lateral y con la otra el mango trasero.
NOTA: El torque de arranque crea una repen-
tina sacudida.
2. Siempre posicione la guarda de tal manera
que la parte del disco abrasivo expuesto quede
al lado contrario del operador.
3. Después de encender la máquina, lleve el
disco y apliquelo en la pieza de trabajo.
NOTA: No encienda o apague la esmeriladora
cuando esté en contacto con la pieza de tra-
bajo, esto hará que la vida del interruptor sea
menor y podría causar daños a la pieza de tra-
bajo.
NOTA: Esté preparado para un flujo chispas
cuando el disco toque el metal.
4. Incline la esmeriladora de 15˚ a 30˚ de angula-
ción para un fácil manejo y un esmerilado suave.
Esto hará más fácil quitar el disco de la pieza de
trabajo y evitará una sobrecarga innecesaria.
5. Aplique el disco de desbaste con una presion
constante y ligera para un desbaste eficiente.
ADVERTENCIA: No aplique una presión in-
necesaria. El peso de la herramienta aplica una
presión adecuada. Una presión excesiva o re-
pentina sobrecargarán el motor, causarán que
la velocidad baje y aplicarán un estrés en el
disco, que podrían causar que este se rompa y
causar daños al usuario.
6. Cuando utilice un nuevo disco de desbaste,
no mueva el disco de forma de avance (A) en la
pieza de trabajo. El hacer esto causará que la
esquina del disco haga un corte en la pieza de
trabajo. Cuando esmerile, la dirección de ope-
ración siempre debe ser hacia atrás, (B) hacia
el operador.
ADVERTENCIA: No use un disco que haya sido
gastado hasta tener un diámetro de 3”. El uso
continuo de un disco desgastado podria causar la
explosión del disco y causar daños serios.
ADVERTENCIA: Antes de cada uso, inspec-
cione la esmeriladora angular, el botón de en-
cendido, y el cable de alimentación que no
tengan daños, no le falten partes o estén des-
gastadas. Busque por tornillos sueltos o des-
alineados, partes atascadas o cualquier otra
condición que pueda afectar la operación. Si
alguna vibración o ruido anormal ocurre, apa-
gue la máquina inmediatamente y lleve el pro-
ducto a un centro de servicio autorizado para
su reparación.
APLICACIÓN DE CORTE
La terminación del corte será perfecta si usted
lo realiza en un ángulo recto y con una presión
media. El aplicar mucha presión puede resultar
en el quiebre del disco, lo que puede provocar
severas lesiones al operador y a las personas
que se encuentren cerca.
No presione el lado del disco de corte. Cuando
realice cortes largos, delineado o cortes de ca-
nal, comience siempre por la sección más corta
de la pieza de trabajo.
Cuando realice cortes sobre mampostería,
siempre corte con una guía de corte.
La dirección del corte es muy importante en
este tipo de operación.
La herramienta debe trabajar siempre en senti-
do opuesto a la dirección de rotación del disco
de corte.
PRECAUCIÓN: Se generarán chispas cuando
realice esmerilados sobre metal.
MANTENIMIENTO
ADVERTENCIA: Se recomienda que cualquier
reparación o servicio sean realizados en un
centro de servicio calificado.

MANTENIMIENTO GENERAL
Antes de cada uso inspeccione en la esmerila-
dora el interruptor y el cable, y verifique que
no se encuentren dañados. Busque partes da-
ñadas, faltantes o gastadas.
Verifique que no haya tornillos sueltos, una
mala alineación, partes móviles sueltas o cual-
quier otra condición que pueda afectar la ope-
ración de la esmeriladora.
Si ocurre una vibración o un ruido anormal,
apague la herramienta inmediatamente y
haga que lo revisen en un centro de servicio
autorizado antes de volverla a usar.
CARBONES
IMPORTANTE: Cuando los carbones presen-
ten un desgaste la herramienta se apagará au-
tomáticamente.
Los carbones de la herramienta deben ser
examinados frecuentemente. Su buen con-
tacto hace que la herramienta sea más pode-
rosa. Cuando la chispa alrededor del colector
se vuelva más grande los carbones deben ser
cambiadas.
LIMPIEZA
ADVERTENCIA: Antes de limpiar o realizar
cualquier mantenimiento, la herramienta debe
ser desconectada de la fuente de energía. El
método de limpieza más efectivo puede ser so-
plar con aire de compresor. Siempre use lentes
de seguridad cuando esté limpiando la máqui-
na con aire comprimido.
Mantenga las empuñaduras de la máquina
limpias, secas y libre de aceite o grasa. Use un
jabón y paños humedos suaves.
Muchos productos de limpieza del hogar con-
tienen químicos que pueden dañar seriamente
el plástico y otras partes aisladas.
Las ranuras de ventilación deben ser manteni-
das limpias. No intente limpiarla introduciendo
objetos punzantes a través de las aberturas.
CUIDADO: No se recomienda el uso de agen-
tes químicos para limpiar la máquina. No use
petróleo, laca, diluyentes de pintura o produc-
tos similares.
ADVERTENCIA: Solamente use accesorios re-
comendados por el fabricante.
Accesorios que pueden ser utilizados en unas
máquinas pueden ser peligroso utilizarlos en
otras.
ADVERTENCIA: Mantenga los productos con
cuidado. Mantenga los productos filosos o de
corte limpios y en buen funcionamiento.
ADVERTENCIA: Verifique que el cable de ali-
mentación esté en buenas condiciones, si se en-
cuentra dañada reemplacela (llevela a su cen-
tro de servicio más cercano). Nunca utilize una
herramienta cuyo cable de alimentación se en-
cuentre dañado.
SOLUCIONADOR DE PROBLEMAS
EL MOTOR NO ENCIENDE
La herramienta no se encuentra conectada: Ve-
rifique que el cable de alimentación esté co-
nectado a la fuente de poder.
Fusible: Verifique el tiempo de propagación
del fusible o corta-circuitos.
LA MAQUINA VIBRA O TIEMBLA
Disco dañado: Reemplace el disco.
Disco suelto: Apriete el tornillo del husillo.
Si la máquina presenta algún otro tipo de ano-
malía contacte el centro de servicio más cerca-
no a usted y llévelo para su revisión.

to make easy to maintain and to operate.
WARNING: Read and understand all in-
structions. Failure to follow all indications list-
ed below, may result in electric shock, fire and/
or serious personal injury.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
SAFETY IN WORKING AREA
Keep your work area clean and well lit. Clut-
tered benches and dark areas may cause acci-
dents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmo-
spheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Some power tools create
sparks which may provoke fire.
Keep away observers, children and visitors
while operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
ELECTRIC SAFETY
Double insulation eliminates the need for the
three wire grounded power cord and ground-
ed power supply system.
Avoid the body contact with grounded surfac-
es such as pipes, radiators and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if
your body is grounded.
Don’t expose power tools to rain or wet condi-
tions. The precense of water into power tools
will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not abuse of the power cord. Never use the
power cord to carry the tool and do not pull
the plug off the outlet. Keep the cable away of
heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Replace
damaged cords immediately. Damaged cords
increase the risk of electric shock.
When operating a power tool outside, use an
outdoor extension cord marked “W-A” or “W”.
These cords are rated for outdoor use and re-
duce the risk of electric shock.
EXTENSION CORDS
Replace damaged cords immediately. The use
of damaged cords can shock, burn or electric
shock. If an extension cord is necessary, a cord
with adequate size conductors should be used
to prevent excessive voltage drop, loss of pow-
er or overheating. The table below shows the
correct size to use, depending on cord length
and nameplate amperage rating of tools. In
case of doubt use the next heavier gauge. Al-
ways use UL listed extension cords.

PERSONAL SAFETY
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool.
Don’t use the tool if you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A
moment of unattention while operating pow-
er tools may cause a serious personal injury.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Contain long hair. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away of moving parts.
Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
Avoid an accidental starting. Be sure that the
switch is OFF before plugging in. Carrying
tools with the finger on the switch or plug in
the tool switch in ON may cause accidents.
Remove the adjusting keys or wrenches be-
fore turning the tool on. A wrench or a key
that is left close to a rotating part of the tool
may provoke a personal injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times. Proper footing and bal-
ance enables better control of the tools on un-
expected situations.
Use safety equipment. Always wear eye pro-
tection. Dust mask, nonskid safety shoes, hard
hat, or hearing protection must be used for ap-
propriate conditions.
Before connecting the tool to a power source
(receptacle, outlet, etc.) be sure that the volt-
age supplied is the same as that one specified
on the nameplate of the tool. To use a not

specified voltage may cause a serious injury to
the user as well as damage the tool.
IMPORTANT: This appliance is not intended
for use by persons (including children) with re-
duced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
may be different or reduced, or lack of experi-
ence or knowledge, unless such persons are su-
pervised or trained to operate the product by
a person responsible for their safety. Children
should be supervised to ensure they do not use
the devices as toys.
TOOL USE AND CARE
Do not force the power tool. Use the correct
tool for the application. The correct tool will
do the job better and more safely at the rate
that it was designed to work at.
Do not use tools if switch does not turn it on or
off. Any tool that cannot be controlled whith
the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
Disconnect the plug from the power source
before making any adjustments, changing ac-
cessories or storing the tool. This preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of accidental
starting of the tool.
When the power tool is not in use, store it out
of the reach of children, and do not allow in-
dividuals who are not familiar with the power
tool or these instructions to operate it. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands on untrained
users.
Maintain the power tool. Check for misalign-
ment or binding of moving parts, broken parts,
and any other condition that may affect the
operation of the power tool. If it is damaged,
have it repaired before using. Many accidents
are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
Check for misalignment or bonding of moving
parts, breakage parts, and any other condition
that may affect the tools operation. If you find
a damaged tool, take it to service before use it.
Use only accessories that are recommended by
the manufacturer of your model. Suitable ac-
cessories for one tool, may become hazardous
when are used on another tool.
Keep cutting tools, sharpened and clean. Cut-
ting tools in good condition with sharpened
edges, are less likely to stuck in workpieces or
easier to control.
Is recommendable to use a safety device suit-
able, such a thermal and diferential switch
when you are using an electric equipment.
SERVICE
Tool service must be perfomed only by quali-
fied repair personnel. Service or maintenance
performed by unqualified personnel could re-
sult in a risk of injury.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR
ANGLE GRINDERS
• Hold the machine by the isolated rubber
parts when you are operating where the cut-
ting machine may be in contact with a hide
wiring installation or its own cable.
Contact with a ‘live’ wire can expose metal
parts of the machine ‘alive’ and give you an
electric shock.
• Always use an adequate blade guard protec-
tion. This guard provides protection to the
user of the pieces that can be detached of the
abrasive blade.
• The abrasive discs should be used at the
speed indicated on the warning machine label.
Otherwise the discs or accessories that run on
a different speed range can fly and cause in-
juries.
• Remove all adjusting keys or wrenches before
turning the power tool ‘on’. A wrench or a key
that is left attached to a rotating part of the
power tool may result in personal injury.
• Never leave the machine locked on the on
position. Before to connect to the power sup-
ply, be sure that the switch is in the off posi-
tion.
• When start the machine leaves it run a few
minutes without load before to use it on a
work piece. Watch the vibration or undulation
it may indicate you a poor installation.
• When operating the grinder, avoid the abra-
sive disc to bend or break. If this happens, stop
the machine and renew the disc.
• Don’t use damaged discs.
• Don’t use worn discs. Worned discs can cause
a disc explosion and cause serious personal in-
jury. A depressed center abrasive disc must not
be used if worn below 3 inches of diameter.
• Use clamps or other practical means to sup-
port and secure the workpiece to a stable plat-

form. Holding the workpiece in your hand or
against your body is unstable, and may lead to
loss of control.
• Keep your hands away of the motion parts.
• Always use goggles and dust mask when you
are grinding, specially when grind over your
head.
• Be careful with the sparks detached of the
disc when work. Hold the grinder such way
that the sparks fly away of you, other persons
or flammable materials.
• Don’t touch the work piece immediately af-
ter of the operation, could be very hot and can
cause hurts.
THE KICKBACK
The kickback is a sudden reaction. The punc-
tured or hooked produces a quick decrease
speed rate causing loose control of the tool
which is directed towards the side which is the
operator.
The kickback is the result of an inappropri-
ate tool use or an incorrect operation. Can be
avoided following these instructions:
1. Keep a firm grip with both hands on the
tool. Position your body properly to resist the
force of kickback. The operator can control
torque reactions if the correct warnings are
taken.
2. Never place your hand close to the rotating
accessory. It can cause a kickback over your
hand.
3. Never place your body on the kickback area;
the kickback will propel the tool to the oppo-
site direction of the rotation abrasive disc.
4. Use extra care when working with edges.
These tend to engage the disc.
5. Don’t use the tool with cutting saws. These
produce kickback.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Remove the grinder from the
carton and examine it carefully. Do not discard
the carton or any packaging material until all
parts are examined.
LATERAL HANDLE
The lateral handle
must be used always
that the machine is
running. Screw the
lateral handle inside
the holes, could be on
the right or left side. Your choice is determined
by your convenience and ability to keep the
complete control.
GUARD
The guard is a security
device to prevent in-
juries caused by pieces
of abrasive disc. When
installing the guard,
make sure the raised rib
aligns with the slot on
the cover of the gearbox. Then turn to the left
the protector until stays in the correct position.
Before the operation, make sure that the guard
is locked on place. Release the fixed screws, the
guard can be adjusted to the desired position.
Once done this, adjust the fixation screw.
INSTALL AND REMOVE THE ABRASIVE DISC
To Install:
1. Make sure that the guard is in its place.
2. Place the internal adapter on the shaft.
Make sure that it is placed on the two plane
surfaces.

To remove:
1. Press the shaft lock button.
2. Loosen the shaft lock nut by turning the nut
counterclockwise with the wrench.
3. Remove the outer flange screw.
4. Release the abrasive disc of the shaft.
TURN ON & TURN OFF
CAUTION: Make sure the switch can be con-
trolled freely and keep it off before connect
the grinder.
The switch function
is the same as a lock-
on button. Slide the
switch to "I" position
and immediately will
be locked to work with
continuous operation,
to unlock press the
switch button and re-locate it to its original
position ("O").
Move only to the work piece then of turn on
the tool.
When the carbon brushes are worn, the tool
will turn off automatically.
When use a new abrasive disc, leave the ma-
chine run for a few minutes without load.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. For best control, hold the angle grinder firm-
ly with one hand gripping the side handle and
the other gripping the rubber-coated grip on
the body of the angle grinder.
NOTE: The starting torque creates a sudden
jerk.
2. Always position the guard so that the ex-
posed grinding disc is pointing away from the
operator.
3. After starting the tool, apply the grinding
disc to the workpiece.
NOTE: Do not turn the angle grinder “ON”
or “OFF” while the grinder is in contact with
the workpiece. It will decrease the life of the
trigger switch and could cause damage to the
workpiece.
NOTE: Be prepared for a stream of sparks when
the disc touches metal.
4. Tilt the angle grinder at a 15º to30º angle for
easy handling and smooth grinding.
This will make it easier to remove the disc from
the workpiece, and will prevent unnecessary
overloading.
5. Apply the grinding disc to the work surface
using light, steady pressure for grinding effi-
ciency.
WARNING: Do not apply unnecessary pres-
sure. The weight of the tool applies adequate
pressure. Excessive or sudden pressure will
overload the motor, cause a drop in the speed
and put dangerous stress on the grinding disc,
possibly causing breakage and injury.
6. When using a new grinding disc, do not
move the disc in a forward direction (A) on the
workpiece. Doing so will cause the edge of the
disc to cut into the surface of the workpiece.
While grinding, the direction of movement
should be backward, toward the operator (see
image above).
WARNING: Do not use a disc with a centre
indentation after it has been worn to a 3” di-
ameter. The continued use of a worn-out disc
may result in disc explosion and serious injury.
WARNING: Before each use, inspect the
angle grinder, the ON/OFF trigger switch, and
the cord for any damaged, missing, or worn
parts. Check for loose screws, misalignment or
binding of moving parts, or any other condi-
tions that may affect the operation. If abnor-
mal vibration or noise occurs, turn the tool off
immediately and have the problem corrected
before further use.

CUTTING
The finished will be perfect if you make it with
a straigth angle and with a middle pressure. If
you apply too much pressure, it may result in
the collapse of the disc and can cause severe
injuries to the operator and bystanders.
Don’t press the cutting disc side. When mak-
ing long cuts, outlined or channel cuts, always
starts by the shorter work piece section.
When making masonry cuts, always cut with a
cutting guide. The cut direction is very impor-
tant on this kind of operation. The tool must
work in the opposite side to the rotation direc-
tion of the cutting disc.
CAUTION: It will generate sparks when you
grinded on metal. Be careful that it doesn’t
make contact with combustible materials
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: It’s recommended that all repa-
rations been made by an authorized service
center.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Before each use inspect the tool, the switch
and the wire to check any damage. Verify that
don’t have damaged, missing or worn parts.
Check if there are lost screws, misalignment or
loose moving parts or any other condition that
may affect the operation.
If an abnormal vibration or noise occurs, im-
mediately turn off the machine and solve this
issue before to try use again.
CARBON BRUSHES
The carbon brushes and the collets must be ex-
amined frequently. A good contact result the
tool to be strong. When the spark around the
collector becomes largest the carbon brushes
should be changed.
CLEANING
WARNING: Before to clean or realize any
kind of maintenance, the tool must be un-
plugged of the power source. The most effec-
tive cleaning method could be flow the tool
with dry compressed air. Always use goggles
when perform this activity. Keep the handle
clean, dry and oil free. Use only a gently soap
and a wet wiper to clean the tool. Many clean-
ing products has chemical which can seriously
damage the plastic and other isolated parts.
The ventilation slots must be kept clean. Don’t
try clean it introducing sharp objects trough
ventilation slots.
CAUTION: Don’t use chemical agents as pe-
troleum, solvents or similar products to clean
the tool.
WARNING: Use only accessories that are
recommended by the manufacturer for your
model. Accessories that may be suitable for
one tool may become hazardous when used
with another tool.
WARNING: Maintain tools with care. Keep
cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained tools, with sharp cutting
edges, are less likely to bind and are easier to
control.
WARNING: Check extension cords before
each use. If damaged, replace immediately.
Never use tool with a damaged cord.
TROUBLESHOOTING
MOTOR DOES NOT START
Tools is not plugged in: Check that all cords are
plugged in.
Fuse: Check the time-delayed fuse or circuit
breaker.
TOOL VIBRATES OR SHAKES
Damaged disc: Replace disc
Loose disc: Tighten arbor bolt.
If the machine presents other problems contact
your closest service center for maintenance.
