event/venue.

GETTING STARTED

Connect Your Cinelink™ Player
The bsic method o connectin the Cinelink™ pler is described
below. Your prticulr instlltion environment m require extr
equipment nd/or dpters.*
IMPORTANT! Do not connect the Cinelink™ player's power cord
until all other connections have been made and your display/
projector is powered on.
Step 1 - Connect n HDMI cble rom HDMI 1 on the Cinelink™
pler to our displ. Power on our displ.
Step 2 - Connect network cble rom the Cinelink™ pler’s
LAN port to our internet router or switch.
Step 3 - Remove the USB receiver rom within the remote
control’s btter comprtment nd insert it into one o the two
ront USB ports on the Cinelink™ player. Instll the 2 AAA
btteries into the remote nd replce the btter cover.
Step 4 - Connect the power adapter to the Cinelink™ pler nd
plu the opposite end into n electricl socket (preerbl one
tht is sure-protected).
Optional - Connect 2nd monitor to HDMI 2 on the Cinelink™
pler or dul-displ mode.

Power on the Cinelink™ pler b pressin the power button on
the ront o the device.
Ater moment, Cinelink™ will displ sel-check screen. I n
o the items listed do not pper with reen liht, plese contct
Swnk Technicl Support.
Cinelink™ One-Time Activation
The irst time ou power on our Cinelink™ pler, ou will need
to ctivte the device. Press OK on our remote to brin up the
on-screen kebord. Use the arrow nd OK kes to input ech
chrcter o the ctivtion code tht ws emiled to ou. When
inished, arrow down to select Send, then press OK.

Please note: The Cinelink™ pler will need to hve ccess to the
internet durin the ctivtion process. B deult, Cinelink™ is
coniured to use DHCP to obtin the correct IP ddress, tew
nd DNS servers. I ou receive connection error messe when
ttemptin to send our ctivtion code, ou will need to select
the Network Settings button, locted t the bottom-riht corner
o the screen nd mnull check our settins. This is covered in
reter detil in Chapter 5 - Configure Network Settings.
Time Zone
Once ou hve successull ctivted our device, ou will be
brouht to the Initial Settings screen. Here, ou must coniure
our time zone. Usin the arrow buttons on the remote, select the
Time Zone ield nd press OK.

Use the up/down arrow buttons on the remote to choose the
most pproprite option rom the list. When inished, press OK on
the remote. Repet this process or the Select Nearest City ield.
When ou hve mde our selections, click Next t the bottom o
the Initial Settings screen, then press OK. You re now red to
use Cinelink™!

Downloading Movies and TV Shows
Once Cinelink™ hs connected to the internet nd hs been
successull ctivted, it will automatically bein downlodin
n movies ou hve ordered rom Swnk.
Please note: Cinelink™ is not video-on-demnd service; it does
not stream movie content over the internet. Insted, movies re
downloaded nd sved on Cinelink pler’s™ internl store.
This llows or relible plbck without puses nd hiher-
qulit video nd udio. Movies must be completely downloaded
before they can be played.
Downlod times will vr bsed on movie ile size, the bndwidth
o our internet connection nd the tric on our network. To
ensure mple time or downlodin nd testin our movie,
Cinelink™ will tpicll bein downlodin 3-4 weeks prior to our
licensed show dte.
I movie downlod is interrupted due to power or network
oute, Cinelink™ will resume where it let o once connectivit
hs been restored. Once the downlod is complete, the movie
pper in the carousel.
The Cinelink™ User Interface Overview
Cinelink’s™ user interce is ver simple to use. In the middle o
the screen is the carousel. This is where our purchsed movies
re displed. Alon the top, ou'll ind the internet status nd
HDCP status icons, s well s the system settings nd power off
buttons. Alon the bottom, is the movie information section nd
audio nd captions options.

The Carousel
The carousel is where ou select nd pl our movies.
Downloded movies, s well s those in the process o bein
downloded, re displed here. You m onl pl bck
movies tht hve completel downloded. A movie tht is bein
downloded will displ % indictor on top the movie ime.
Movie Playback and Show Dates
Movies nd TV shows re vilble or plbck onl durin
the licensed show dte(s). These dtes re listed in the movie
inormtion section lon the bottom o the screen. You will see
Playback Available overlid on top o the movie ime i ou
re within the licensed show dte window. I ou re not within
this show dte window, ou will see Preview Available. Preview
mode will llow ou to preview plbck prior to our showin,
to ensure everthin is workin properl. In this mode, the video
will be prtill obstructed b movin text box. To bein movie
plbck, use the left/right arrow buttons on the remote to
select the desired movie or plbck, then press OK.

Audio Language
A movie m hve multiple udio lnue trcks rom which
to select. Select the movie in the carousel, arrow down to select
Audio, then press OK. Mke our selection then press OK.
Closed Captions
A movie m include closed cptions. To turn closed cptions on,
select the movie in the carousel, arrow down to select Captions
nd press OK. Select rom the vilble closed cption lnues
nd select OK.

Power Off
You m power o the Cinelink™ pler b selectin the power
icon ner the top riht corner o the screen nd pressin OK. You
will be prompted to conirm this ction on the ollowin screen.
Choose OK to shut the Cinelink™ pler o, or choose Cancel to
return to the previous screen.

System Settings
You m ccess the Cinelink™ pler's Settings b selectin the
gear icon ner the top riht corner o the Cinelink™ interce nd
pressin OK - or - b pressin the Menu button on the remote
control. From the Settins screen, ou cn ccess ll o the
Cinelink™ options: Audio Output, Control Output, Video Output,
Time Zone, About, Network Settings nd Diagnostics.
Audio Output
You m select between HDMI (diitl multi-chnnel) nd Anlo
(stereo) udio output. I usin n HDMI cble to crr udio, use
the HDMI settin (deult). I ou wish to use the 3.5mm line-out
port* on the ront o the Cinelink™ pler, select Analog. Press
OK to mke our selection.
*Note: The 3.5mm line-out port (reen nd lbeled with hedphone icon) is locted on the ront o
the Cinelink™ pler (udio cble not included).

Control Output (HDMI 2)
The Control Output settin is used or settin the video
resolution o 2nd displ (dul-displ mode) tht is connected
to Cinelink's™ HDMI 2 port. When usin dul-displ mode, the
Cinelink™ user interce is displed on HDMI 2, while the movie is
displed on HDMI 1. This is useul when ou wish to concel the
Cinelink™ user interce rom our udience. I ou do not hve
2nd displ connected to the Cinelink™ pler, this option will be
red out, s shown below.
Video Output (HDMI 1)
Cinelink™ will utomticll select the best resolution supported
b our displ when connected usin HDMI. You m lso
choose rom list o supported resolutions. To do so, select the
desired resolution rom the list nd press OK. On the Settings
screen, select Set, then press OK. I successul, ou will receive
messe tht reds: Resolution changed successfully. To keep
the new settin, choose OK. To revert to the previous resolution,
choose Cancel.

Diagnostics
The Dinostics screen will provide ou with importnt
troubleshootin inormtion in the event ou encounter technicl
issues with our Cinelink™ pler. The Send to Swank button cn
be used to trnsmit this inormtion directl to Swnk or ster
technicl support.

Access Network Settings
At the bottom o the Settings screen, select Network Settings.
then press OK.
IP Mode (Automatic/Manual)
B deult, Cinelink is set to Automatic IP Mode (DHCP).
You m ind tht ou need to djust Cinelink™’s network
settins mnull i our network does not use DHCP, or i our
network dministrtor requires speciic settins. Press OK to
switch rom Automatic to Manual mode. Press OK in to ppl
the settin.

Manual IP Mode Settings
I mnul IP setup is needed, work with our network
dministrtor to set the proper vlues or IP address, Subnet
Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS Server nd Secondary
DNS Server.
Note: Your server ddresses will likel be dierent thn those illustrted here.
Test Network Settings
Once ou hve entered ll required vlues, test our settins
b selectin Test t the bottom riht corner o the screen. I
successul, ou will receive the messe, Network settings
successfully verified. Press OK to continue.

Cinelink™ Software Updates

The Cinelink™ pler must be connected to n ctive internet
connection to check or nd receive these updtes. When n
updte is vilble, ou will see reen notiiction icon bove
the carousel.
Updte Notiiction Icon
To instll the updte, select the update notification icon nd
press OK. You will be iven the choice o immeditel pplin
the updte or skippin the updte. Skippin the updte m be
desirble i ou don’t hve time to ppl nd/or test the updte
prior to plnned event. You m skip the updte up to 10 times
beore it is required. I necessr, ou m request n override
