event/venue.

GETTING STARTED

Connect Your Cinelink™ Player
The bsic method o connectin the Cinelink™ pler is described
below. Your prticulr instlltion environment m require extr
equipment nd/or dpters.*
IMPORTANT! Do not connect the Cinelink™ player's power cord
until all other connections have been made and your display/
projector is powered on.
Step 1 - Connect n HDMI cble rom HDMI 1 on the Cinelink™
pler to our displ. Power on our displ.
Step 2 - Connect  network cble rom the Cinelink™ pler’s
LAN port to our internet router or switch.
Step 3 - Remove the USB receiver rom within the remote
control’s btter comprtment nd insert it into one o the two
ront USB ports on the Cinelink™ player. Instll the 2 AAA
btteries into the remote nd replce the btter cover.
Step 4 - Connect the power adapter to the Cinelink™ pler nd
plu the opposite end into n electricl socket (preerbl one
tht is sure-protected).
Optional - Connect  2nd monitor to HDMI 2 on the Cinelink™
pler or dul-displ mode.

Cinelink™ Startup
Power on the Cinelink™ pler b pressin the power button on
the ront o the device.
Ater  moment, Cinelink™ will displ  sel-check screen. I n
o the items listed do not pper with  reen liht, plese contct
Swnk Technicl Support.
Cinelink™ One-Time Activation
The irst time ou power on our Cinelink™ pler, ou will need
to ctivte the device. Press OK on our remote to brin up the
on-screen kebord. Use the arrow nd OK kes to input ech
chrcter o the ctivtion code tht ws emiled to ou. When
inished, arrow down to select Send, then press OK.

Please note: The Cinelink™ pler will need to hve ccess to the
internet durin the ctivtion process. B deult, Cinelink™ is
coniured to use DHCP to obtin the correct IP ddress, tew
nd DNS servers. I ou receive  connection error messe when
ttemptin to send our ctivtion code, ou will need to select
the Network Settings button, locted t the bottom-riht corner
o the screen nd mnull check our settins. This is covered in
reter detil in Chapter 5 - Configure Network Settings.
Time Zone
Once ou hve successull ctivted our device, ou will be
brouht to the Initial Settings screen. Here, ou must coniure
our time zone. Usin the arrow buttons on the remote, select the
Time Zone ield nd press OK.

Use the up/down arrow buttons on the remote to choose the
most pproprite option rom the list. When inished, press OK on
the remote. Repet this process or the Select Nearest City ield.
When ou hve mde our selections, click Next t the bottom o
the Initial Settings screen, then press OK. You re now red to
use Cinelink™!

Downloading Movies and TV Shows
Once Cinelink™ hs connected to the internet nd hs been
successull ctivted, it will automatically bein downlodin
n movies ou hve ordered rom Swnk.
Please note: Cinelink™ is not  video-on-demnd service; it does
not stream movie content over the internet. Insted, movies re
downloaded nd sved on Cinelink pler’s™ internl store.
This llows or relible plbck without puses nd hiher-
qulit video nd udio. Movies must be completely downloaded
before they can be played.
Downlod times will vr bsed on movie ile size, the bndwidth
o our internet connection nd the tric on our network. To
ensure mple time or downlodin nd testin our movie,
Cinelink™ will tpicll bein downlodin 3-4 weeks prior to our
licensed show dte.
I  movie downlod is interrupted due to  power or network
oute, Cinelink™ will resume where it let o once connectivit
hs been restored. Once the downlod is complete, the movie
pper in the carousel.
The Cinelink™ User Interface Overview
Cinelink’s™ user interce is ver simple to use. In the middle o
the screen is the carousel. This is where our purchsed movies
re displed. Alon the top, ou'll ind the internet status nd
HDCP status icons, s well s the system settings nd power off
buttons. Alon the bottom, is the movie information section nd
audio nd captions options.

The Carousel
The carousel is where ou select nd pl our movies.
Downloded movies, s well s those in the process o bein
downloded, re displed here. You m onl pl bck
movies tht hve completel downloded. A movie tht is bein
downloded will displ  % indictor on top the movie ime.
Movie Playback and Show Dates
Movies nd TV shows re vilble or plbck onl durin
the licensed show dte(s). These dtes re listed in the movie
inormtion section lon the bottom o the screen. You will see
Playback Available overlid on top o the movie ime i ou
re within the licensed show dte window. I ou re not within
this show dte window, ou will see Preview Available. Preview
mode will llow ou to preview plbck prior to our showin,
to ensure everthin is workin properl. In this mode, the video
will be prtill obstructed b  movin text box. To bein movie
plbck, use the left/right arrow buttons on the remote to
select the desired movie or plbck, then press OK.

Audio Language
A movie m hve multiple udio lnue trcks rom which
to select. Select the movie in the carousel, arrow down to select
Audio, then press OK. Mke our selection then press OK.
Closed Captions
A movie m include closed cptions. To turn closed cptions on,
select the movie in the carousel, arrow down to select Captions
nd press OK. Select rom the vilble closed cption lnues
nd select OK.

Power Off
You m power o the Cinelink™ pler b selectin the power
icon ner the top riht corner o the screen nd pressin OK. You
will be prompted to conirm this ction on the ollowin screen.
Choose OK to shut the Cinelink™ pler o, or choose Cancel to
return to the previous screen.

System Settings
You m ccess the Cinelink™ pler's Settings b selectin the
gear icon ner the top riht corner o the Cinelink™ interce nd
pressin OK - or - b pressin the Menu button on the remote
control. From the Settins screen, ou cn ccess ll o the
Cinelink™ options: Audio Output, Control Output, Video Output,
Time Zone, About, Network Settings nd Diagnostics.
Audio Output
You m select between HDMI (diitl multi-chnnel) nd Anlo
(stereo) udio output. I usin n HDMI cble to crr udio, use
the HDMI settin (deult). I ou wish to use the 3.5mm line-out
port* on the ront o the Cinelink™ pler, select Analog. Press
OK to mke our selection.
*Note: The 3.5mm line-out port (reen nd lbeled with  hedphone icon) is locted on the ront o
the Cinelink™ pler (udio cble not included).

Control Output (HDMI 2)
The Control Output settin is used or settin the video
resolution o  2nd displ (dul-displ mode) tht is connected
to Cinelink's™ HDMI 2 port. When usin dul-displ mode, the
Cinelink™ user interce is displed on HDMI 2, while the movie is
displed on HDMI 1. This is useul when ou wish to concel the
Cinelink™ user interce rom our udience. I ou do not hve 
2nd displ connected to the Cinelink™ pler, this option will be
red out, s shown below.
Video Output (HDMI 1)
Cinelink™ will utomticll select the best resolution supported
b our displ when connected usin HDMI. You m lso
choose rom  list o supported resolutions. To do so, select the
desired resolution rom the list nd press OK. On the Settings
screen, select Set, then press OK. I successul, ou will receive 
messe tht reds: Resolution changed successfully. To keep
the new settin, choose OK. To revert to the previous resolution,
choose Cancel.

Diagnostics
The Dinostics screen will provide ou with importnt
troubleshootin inormtion in the event ou encounter technicl
issues with our Cinelink™ pler. The Send to Swank button cn
be used to trnsmit this inormtion directl to Swnk or ster
technicl support.

Access Network Settings
At the bottom o the Settings screen, select Network Settings.
then press OK.
IP Mode (Automatic/Manual)
B deult, Cinelink is set to Automatic IP Mode (DHCP).
You m ind tht ou need to djust Cinelink™’s network
settins mnull i our network does not use DHCP, or i our
network dministrtor requires speciic settins. Press OK to
switch rom Automatic to Manual mode. Press OK in to ppl
the settin.

Manual IP Mode Settings
I mnul IP setup is needed, work with our network
dministrtor to set the proper vlues or IP address, Subnet
Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS Server nd Secondary
DNS Server.
Note: Your server ddresses will likel be dierent thn those illustrted here.
Test Network Settings
Once ou hve entered ll required vlues, test our settins
b selectin Test t the bottom riht corner o the screen. I
successul, ou will receive the messe, Network settings
successfully verified. Press OK to continue.

ports re open on our network in order or proper communiction
between Cinelink™ nd Swnk’s servers.

Cinelink™ Software Updates
Periodicll, Swnk will relese sotwre updtes or Cinelink™.
The Cinelink™ pler must be connected to n ctive internet
connection to check or nd receive these updtes. When n
updte is vilble, ou will see  reen notiiction icon bove
the carousel.
Updte Notiiction Icon
To instll the updte, select the update notification icon nd
press OK. You will be iven the choice o immeditel pplin
the updte or skippin the updte. Skippin the updte m be
desirble i ou don’t hve time to ppl nd/or test the updte
prior to  plnned event. You m skip the updte up to 10 times
beore it is required. I necessr, ou m request n override
code rom Swnk.
