OPERATING INSTRUCTION
USE AND CARE
• Remove all packaging from toaster.
• Check inside toaster slots for packaging and remove.
• NOTE:
Do not place any read in toaster during the first toasting to allow the new elements to
preheat and urn off any dust that may have accumulated during assem ly.
• Make sure the crum tray is in place and the read carriage levers are in the UP position.
• Set up toaster on flat, sta le countertop surface, away from the edge and at least 10cm
away from wall or rear of counter.
• Unwind power cord and plug power cord into near y outlet.
• Insert slices of read making sure read carriage levers are in UP position.
• Turn the light/dark selector onto desired position. The higher the num er (1 – 6) the darker
the toast colour.
• Press the read carriage lever down until it locks into position.
• When the toasting cycle is completed the toast is automatically ejected up. To terminate
the toasting cycle efore it is completed, simply press the cancel utton.
• If you wish to see how the read is toasting, you can lift up the lever to inspect the read.
Once you lower the lever, the toasting process will continue from where it left off.
• After use, unplug the toaster from the electrical outlet.
TOASTING NOTES:
Toasting is a com ination of cooking and drying the read; moisture levels differ from one
read to another, which can result in varying toasting times.
• For slightly dry read, use a lower light/dark setting than normal.
• For fresh read or whole wheat read, use a higher setting than normal.
• Breads with very uneven surfaces (such as English Muffins) will require a higher light/dark
setting
• Thickly cut pieces of read (including agels) will take longer to toast, sometimes
significantly longer, since more moisture must e evaporated from the read efore toasting
can occur.
• Very thick pieces may require two cycles.
• When toasting raisin or other fruit reads, remove any loose raisins from the surface of the
read efore placing into the toaster. This will help prevent pieces from falling into the
toaster or sticking on the guard wire in the slot.
• Before toasting agels, slice each agel into two equal halves.
• Single slice toasting:
If you are toasting a single slice of read, set the light/dark selector to lighter than normal.
The toaster is designed to heat the whole toasting cham er for two slices. By reducing the
toasting time for a single slice, it will not e over toasted.
• Frozen reads, waffles, pancakes, French toast and frozen agels should e warmed using
the defrost utton.
• Pastries:
Exercise caution when toasting pastries. The filling can ecome quite hot long efore the
surface of the pastry ecomes rown.

DEFROST BUTTON
The defrost utton is designed to firstly defrost and then toast the read, which extends the
toasting cycle slightly.
